Resort Changers--The Saga Continues.....

August 22-Sept 1st

Treasure Island condo Aug 22-25 (nonrefundable)
Aug 25-28 Universal Portofino Suite (Universal Lowes reps are very friendly and helpful with changes as well-LOL)
Aug 28-29 BWI Deluxe
Aug 29-Sep 1-GF RPC TPV

Mind you, this was supposed to be a full Disney vacation. It'll be great, just not looking forward to packing/unpacking.

Above subject to change at any time

Coming May 2012-the POP/Poly extravaganza:rotfl:

Now that sounds like plan - but I have to play with it a little bit - not being my plan and all.... :goodvibes

Ok, what about tweaking it a little bit by taking one day away from PBH, doing BWI on the 27th, then having the 28th - 1st at GF RPC TPV?

My thinking is this - you are still staying two nights at PBH, but will have at least 2 1/2 days at US/IOA since check in at BWI won't be until 3:00 pm anyway. ;) And that way you get your day back at GF that you lose by booking BWI. Ta Da!! :teeth:

Now my summer plan is:

August 21 - 26 at OKW in a 1 bedroom (not movable - booked on points although I could go up to a 2 bedroom to shave off days if I had to ;))

August 26- 29 at AKL CL (probably will be traded in for GF RPC on a good discount or Poly CL TPV if I lose my mind again)

August 29 - Sept 1 at PBH or RPH in a King suite. I bought a Universal AP that I haven't been able to use yet due to postponing a US/IoA trip several times over the last three years... But we won't talk about that right now...

So that all adds up to too many days and a very cranky DH who thinks I'm only going to WDW once a year. April being my "once" So I have to shave off enough days to get me down to 8 days total.

For those set of dates with the 35% room only offer Royal Palm and Sugar Loaf is sold out. We are thinking of staying at Royal Palm after the BWI and was sold out for us from August 31st - September 5th, although last night it was available and if we want it Sugar Loaf is available.

It might open back up again in a few weeks - it was up on the site twice but then I missed it both times. For my dates for that portion it was twice the amount of AKL CL too. SL would be doable though...

Have you stayed RPC or SL yet?

CR Fan Nice to see you here.

kaffinitoThis is why I will not cancel that one night at GF RPC until I absolutely have to. Someone will totally snatch it up. I am ALL FOR an extra day, but DH still thinks we are only doing 2 Disney days (that's how I squeezed the Princess Suite in for next year) When we pull into the GF he better LOVE it or I am done for:lmao:I have given up even asking the kids, but I know that DS wanted BWI. So......I bought the Universal AP too but the summer rates aren't out (we have stay more save more and that suite is cheaper than two rooms). Lat night I also booked BWI Aug 31st, I was thinking maybe our last Disney night at BW instead...I dunno. And Poly is available with the summer discount for your dates....just sayin.....

All three of us may wind up doing the GF tea together:cool1:Maybe we can get disneydreamin247 to move her dates too:rotfl:

Well this current promotion ends on March 27 and that's not a long time from now.

Now we haven't at RPC or SL yet.

You're definitely at home here on this thread. You've gone from the GF/RPC to now considering the BC/Deluxe. :welcome: to our world of resort confusion:crazy:

How are your parents handling all of this?

Well I am the one looking up all the rates online and etc, so I am doing all the work and telling them the information. However it's one thing I don't mind. I also posted some questions about Club Level at the Beach Club on the Club Level FAQ thread, so maybe you can help answer them over there.

Just answered all of them...

To be apart of the resort changers club I thought we had to actually switch a reservation for somewhere else, which is something we haven't actually done. So does considering a resort and then somewhere else count?

That's where it all starts. First, you "consider" another resort and then before you know it - BAM! You've gone and switched. Anyway, to me you've switched because you've gone from "CR Fan" to "BWI Fan" - that counts! You're in the club:thumbsup2.

Oh, and while there isn't a secret password or handshake in this club, you do need to have all the WDTC/CRO phone prompts memorized and know the answers before the automated "booking bot" finishes her questions;).

RPC is :cloud9: and makes the other CL's (except for AKL CL) look weak. :)

Yes! :teeth:

That's all? That's easy! Shouldn't we make memorizing the rates for each level of resort count too? :rotfl:

Well it feels good to be apart of this wonderfull addication if you want to call it that.

Absolutely:thumbsup2, that's a given, right?

Today, I asked on the GF thread if there were any differences between SL rooms and RPC rooms or if the 30% price difference was simply due to the location of the RPC rooms. It seems the location is the only difference and the lounge is more spacious. So can you fill me in on why you think it's the best CL? I really loved the WL/CL lounge. The layout is like the RPC's which is very spacious and provides a great view of the lobby. I just don't love the small WL rooms and not having a monorail or being able to walk anywhere. How does RPC compare with BC/CL?

Thanks!

Well let's start with check in. When you arrive at the gate, they check your id, then you drive to the front of the building. Immediately Bell services and Vale is there to help you, and a CM with a binder is also waiting there for you. And I mean right there!

Then your brought up to the check in area on the third floor, (RPC) and are checked in. If your room is ready you're taken there right away.

The service is the best I've ever seen at CL, rivaled only by that of AKL CL.

And the food. :cloud9: At breakfast you get a choice of different breads, bagels, muffins, croissants, and any kind of topping/spread you want. The oatmeal is hot and fresh with usually four to five different toppings on the side. There is also an assortment of meats, such as turkey and ham, and spreads of every type you can imagine. My favorite was the smoked salmon herbed cream cheese spread. It was :cloud9:

For tea you have real Devonshire cream, scones - again hot and fresh, and an assortment of tea pastries. The appetizers in the evening were out of this world, and one night I counted 5 different choices for the hot offerings.

And if I get into the drinks, desserts, etc you'll be reading all night long. :rotfl:

For transportation, you either go down one floor to the monorail (from third) or head down to the lobby for the buses. I only took two buses, one cam fast and one came slowly I do believe. I do remember not being overly impressed with the bus service.

To get to the pool you go down the back elevator (near Victoria and Alberts) and the exit to the quiet pool and Gasparillas is right there.

And that about sums it up! If you stay SL, you have access to the lounge right next to the quiet pool, and for RPC you can use both lounges.

OH MY.....what big changes you all have made. Kaffinito......you ARE the Queen. I must say that I am waaaayyyy behind on switches, changes, ADR's and the likes this year. I am teaching 9th grade this year and......well....that should be excuse enough. Anywho...... I THINK that I am booked at BC but I can't remember if I switched back to CR or not.... I need to book at RPR for Universal and I hope there are rooms available. I am not sure which week I will be going because I am trying to switch to another school district and the school start dates are VERY different. One after Labor day and one waayyy before Labor day. I want to go late August like we usually do but....who knows. Its getting to me now because I would like to at least know which WEEK when I am switch resorts. ;)

I thought you had concurrent ressies? At least last I remember you had more than one....

Maybe it was Disbride?

At any rate I'm not the Queen anymore - I told you I had abdicated my throne in favor of you and Disbride. :) :teeth:

So when will you know your dates for your next switcheroo? And are you brave enough to call CRO to find out when and where you're booked or are you going to wimp out and look it up in My Reservations on WDW.com? :lmao:

Oh! and will you please tell me which ressie for either POP/Poly/ or CSR I should keep?

Well as you can see I added a second countdown ticker which means we are confirmed for the Beach Club in a Club Level - Lagoon View, from August 31st - September 4th.
