Resort Changers--The Saga Continues.....

Keep trying! And if you get a CM that doesn't seem like they can do it, call back. hang in there. Why not try again today?

I tried again yesterday evening and got a CM who was such a sweetie and she was able to do it and said nothing was available. I was disappointed that nothing was available, but I'm hoping people will cancel soon.

So that's 2520.00 on a 5 day trip including dining and the cabana rental at Poly. The trip could be 985.00. That's a pretty big price difference, and most of the savings would come from dropping Poly. :headache:

If there were only an AP discount for my dates, then I wouldn't be so quick to switch, KWIM?
It may be too late, but I'm going against the grain here and recommending CSR.

~It has queen beds like a Deluxe resort.

~It's the only mod. with a health club.

~It does not share buses with any other resort.

~It has jacuzzis which the Poly doesn't.

~It has a spa which Pop and Poly don't.

~It's a compromise between Pop and Poly.

Here's a link to the spa:

There is a great "tripod.com" CSR site that I can't link to, but you can Google it.

I'm thinking about the money too. If I go in August with the room only discount (or military discount), I would save $2,700 while still staying at BWV. There are no discounts over Christmas but I really want to go during that time.

I'm going to let you in on a little secret, but don't tell:ssst:

You mentioned the military discount so I assume that you're eligible to stay at SOG? Well, when SOG is full, which you can find out by going to their website and looking at their calendar, you can request an "overflow rate."

During Christmas, their "overflow rate" is 20% off rack. All you do is keep checking until the days you want are in red on the calendar (and dates around the holidays always are) and then you call the reservations number and ask for their overflow rate for your dates at any WDW resort. Some categories and/or resorts may not be available depending on how many have already been booked at an overflow rate, but most are.

In May 2010, I was able to book an overflow rate at the CR over Christmas. I later canceled because I got a 40% off rate through Expedia. But the 20% off rack overflow rate over Christmas is the absolute best discount I've ever found, except for the Expedia rate which was a (one time?) fluke.

kaffinito I second that. Not that you wouldn't enjoy Pop, but you deserve to splurge on yourself, really!!!! This is the dream trip:cloud9:

True, but the major part of my "dream" this trip involves a pee free bathroom floor. :teeth:

But it's  CSR! :crazy2: I'm sorry, I honestly tried to book it, but after reading about the latest convention, the pools being closed, and no services or amenities for us mere mortals, I can't do it. It is smoker friendly, but doesn't sound like I'd enjoy it much with two large conventions there that week. :sad1:

Plus, I just don't get a good vibe there. It just leaves me cold, and it's so huge! DS and I tried to walk around the resort and gave up halfway - it was too hot in the heat with no shade. :sad2: I just don't like it - although I :lovestruc the Pepper Market - best food anywhere.

But thanks for the thought!

Today I'm waffling between BWI and POP. :upsidedow

I found a letter from Disney today and I knew what it was, but I was thinking, "What if this was a letter from Disney asking me to stop calling them about CR rooms or to stop changing resorts." :rotfl: Does anyone else get that feeling?

:rotfl2: Yes! It's called "switchers paranoia"

:lmao: sometimes I feel like when I go through the prompts and they hear my name and address they're going to disconnect me.

Did you number crunch BWI? A solo trip sounds like :cloud9: but I would get "Mommy guilt" when I just go to work. Maybe when the itty bittys are a little older. I was thinking about Pop this summer. It would save lot of $$$$ for our Poly trip next year. But my DD wants GF, its 4 against 2 in our house. The kids and DH think Pop looks fun. Me too. Maybe I'll do a split stay next May starting in Pop, and then go over to Poly. :lovestruc

I'd love to split with Pop or CBR. If only the darned monorail could go to every resort!

I got over the "mommy guilt". :guilty: The boys Dad moved to Texas so they're gone part of every summer. The guilt goes away once they get older too. ;)

BWI standard view works out to a little over 1600.00. BWV is 1603.00. Dolphin is only 900.00 for the same time period. But I can't bring myself to want Dolphin. Same thing for WL at only 1350.00 I think I'm really jonesing for over- the- top, in- your -face Disney. :upsidedow

OMG I know!!!! But then we'd REALLY be confused;)

Oh yeah! That would be very very bad for me. :teeth:

Well, it wouldn't make me want to stay at SSR or OKW. I don't think ANYTHING would make me want to stay at either of those lol

Really liked SSR (we had a free stay though DVC points) but you need a car there, and I'm looking forward to OKW over the summer. It's really a great resort with an awesome laid back vibe. :)

(Plus, it's on "The List")

Ok - it's official now - I have lost whatever marbles I used to possess. :yo-yo:

I now have - in addition to my two day ressie at AsSpo, three other RO ressies, all for April 19-22. :scared1:

:badpc: I need some serious therapy.

Oh, and for inquiring minds like yours (yes, I mean you! :wave2:) the ressies are for POP (preferred), CSR King bed preferred and the Poly. :headache:

Did the Pepper Market win over BWI?

I honestly am torn, and just wanted to have a room in case everything got booked up... :rolleyes1

Oh Kaffinito, what are you going to do? There's no changing Sports to Pop perhaps, so then you're down to CSR vs Poly? I booked BWI Deluxe for 1 night:scratchin before GF. I can't help but want to go there:rotfl: But is it worth cancelling a day at the Grand? AND it will make 4 Hotels this vacation:lmao:We can room together at the psychiatric facility of our choice (if we can pick one)

Well... ahem.... as it stands now in my semi delusional world its 2 nights AsSpo followed by three nights at POP/CSR/Poly....

I think I would actually let YOU decide which facility we should go to. My head hurts....:guilty:

As far as your dilemma, I'd keep the BWI deluxe before GF. I love :lovestruc BWI, and highly recommend it :thumbsup2

I know it will make 4 resorts in one trip, but it's still doable IMO. I love splitting trips up. :goodvibes What are the other 2 resorts?

WHAAAATTT?!? :confused3 I want to stay at OKW next. I think it looks great!

Me too! And the music there is great, the main pool is lovely, the waterways and golf course is very scenic, and the rooms are HUGE.

I'll have to post a TR after that one so you can see how it all turned out - we have a 1 bedroom rented, and I'm so looking forward to that trip. :) That one's OKW/AKL CL/PBH and 12 :faint: days long. (DH is going to have a fit!)
