Resident rates in the month of June

I'm wondering about resident rates in June. I have searched various threads and I'm still wondering if people who have received resident rates in June (no matter what year it was) would post their date and rate. I know that Florida resident rates are offered at deep discounts during different times of the year, yet they almost always seem to come up in late August and September, plus in the early part of June (as well as other times, of course). On page 10-11 of the Dates & Rates 2005 thread, ft lauderdale dave got Royal Pacific June 11-14 for $149 down from $234.

Well, let me throw this at ya.....my BIL is a Fla. resident and will be joining us our 3rd day at USO next summer. He would like to pay for our room.....but how can we go about reserving and checking in (we live in PA) and get his residential rate?? I know they ask for proof of residency when checking in, but he won't be there until our 3rd day?? So, any suggestions?

Well, let me throw this at ya.....my BIL is a Fla. resident and will be joining us our 3rd day at USO next summer. He would like to pay for our room.....but how can we go about reserving and checking in (we live in PA) and get his residential rate?? You can reserve any rate you want but only way to actually end up paying it (and someone will have to show a FL ID at check in) is to have him meet you at the resort the day of check in. If you cannot prove FL residencey, you will be charged rack rate at check in. Either that or reserve your first 2 nights at rack rate, then the 3rd night would be a seperate ressie under his name with the Fl rate.

Better yet, just get an AP & you can get the discount yourself on an AP rate, plus all the other perks that go with it...not to mention the 2 parks for 365 days... How much is it costing for 3 days at the parks? The Universal AP's pay for themselves in a few days of using....

This is an idea I have been tossing around.....I couldn't decide whether or not to buy the "Buy 2 Get 3 Days Free" ticket from the Universal website (which, I ended up doing) or an AP. I figured I'd figure it out later because we'll be staying 4 nights a RPR, I was going to spend about an extra $80 either way....either on the room or buying the AP. We have AAA, so that will help...and we'll be able to get the AP discount after BIL arrives!

ps-- We have discussed a return trip the following year on the AP and we really are pretty sure we won't have a chance to fly down in time to use them again......the possibility is always there, but the reality is doubtful.

If you were to decide, you can upgrade your tickets at one of the guest services in the parks... and just pay the difference. In my opinion, the money you save with the pass will add up. No, you cannot be 100% sure you will get an APH rate, but you will get the parks...for the 4 days, not just 3. And who knows, you may end up being able to squeeze in another trip prior to the experation date of your pass....plus, by getting the AP, your renewal will be cheaper than a 2 day ticket! As of now, the renewals are only $99 for the year...so think about all aspects...of your savings.

Yep, that's true

...you will get the parks...for the 4 days, not just 3.

We bought the Buy 2 Days Get 3 Free (5 total days) just before they ended that promo...

And who knows, you may end up being able to squeeze in another trip prior to the experation date of your pass....plus, by getting the AP, your renewal will be cheaper than a 2 day ticket!

I keep hoping we'll be able to go back....but, if not, maybe DH will just want to renew it anyway....my savings is what drove me crazy the first time.....and probably still will closer to the trip! Believe me, I am a bargain hunter, and if I can save some bucks, I will find the way!
