not sure if this is the right board, but I have aquick question. We called last night to order our tickets, 7 day park hoppers. We are renting points at BWV and have had the owner add the dinign plan. the first ticket agent told us that the member had to purchase our tickets and the dining plan together in order for us to get it. i didn't think that was true, so I called back. the next ticket agent said no, tickets and DP are separate at DVC, regardless if you rent or own. Who is right? And if we have our tickets in our posession when we check in, can they add the dining plan right on those tickets, or is it separate. Thanks for any help.

DVC members that choose the dining plan is separate from the park tickets. In your case you will have you paper park hopper tickets good for the parks. At check in at your DVC resort you will get room keys for every one in your party........attached to the key will be your DDP. So when you purchase meals you will need to have a CM swipe one of the adults cards. Make sure if you have the DDP it is added prior to your arrival......
Hope this help......you on the right track

thanks... we've never rented before and are used to having everything on one card. So we will have tickets and room key/dining plan, correct? Also, why do some ticket agents have such misinformation/

Ticket agents know that which applies to that which they offer, i.e., the specific admission they offer for sale. They don't necessarily know anything about any other aspect of WDW. Indeed, there are probably very few people who really know "everything" about admission, accommodations and dining. WDW is too large and there are too many different combinations of conditions for anyone to really know it all.

They are totally separate issues. Actually you could have just added the DDP when you checked in.

Actually, Disney requires that Dining Plan be added prior to check-in, sometimes as much as three days prior, depending on office hours and computer issues.

You must have MS add the dining plan at least 5 days before your arival.

Since when? We added it at check-in back in May.

The rules say you must add it through MS. They have generally said 3 days before arrival but I think that's just to make sure it's done otherwise. DVC is inconsistent with rules so YMMV. Actually the rules also say you can't change it IN ANY WAY at check in.

Erin, I have read reports of the front desk adding prepurchased tickets onto room keys if asked.

No personal experience with this though and probably wouldn't choose to do it myself unless absoltuely positive I would be using all days of the passes on this trip or unless the passes will expire anyway.

About adding external admission to room keys -- note that not all the CMs know how to do it, nor will all agree to do it if there is a long queue of people behind you waiting to check-in.
