It's such a great name! I don't know why they felt they had to change it. Even if they do away with GRR, it's still a good moniker and goes with California.
There was talk of it a few years back along with changing the whole footprint of that area, including Grizzly Peak, but then the speculation about it just died and I don't know where it stands now. I've not heard anything since.
It has a huge footprint. Redevelopment of the area has been discussed since the early DCA 2.0 days. Later, it was speculated the area would re-themed into the new Avatar land.
With the DiisneylandForward project - which will turn the Downtown Disney parking lot into an expansion pad for the park - I bet the area is safe for the longterm.
Still a waste of space given the area is shuttered in the winter.
I forgot they did that. Seems like it’s been Mickey’s Fun Wheel forever. I actually surprised they never cloned that attraction at WDW, but then again, it’s not overly popular at DCA despite its asthetics..
