I wanted to rent a car while in Orlando Mar 13-19th, but me and my BF are both 24. I was checking the budget website and they only have exceptions at certain places for a fee & MCO is not one of the places.

Does anyone know where a rental under the age of 25 would be possible? And possible not with sky high fees?

Do either of you work for a company with a corporate account with one of the major rental agencies? Sometimes your corporate travel agent can make this work for you.

My BF is a police officer. I do not know if his department has a corporate account, but it wouldn't hurt to ask.

Also check enterprise. I haven't used them in a few years. However, I have used them in the past, when I was under 25 and they didn't charge the extra fee's to anyone over 21.

Some rental companies may require that certain people buy their colligion coverage:
(1) Persons without a car back home with collision insurance,
(2) Non-residents
(3) Persons under 25.

I think at least (1) applies to Enterprise and L&M renters.

Check the policies (rules) of the rental company as published on its web site and on travelocity.com and assume the more restrictive of the two.

Do you need the car for the whole duration of your trip? We just checked all of the car rentals for my daughter who is 23 and everyone has an extra charge. I think Enterprise also did but it was the least. We ended up cutting the use down by one day and went thru Alamo. they were very pleased and had no problem with not taking extra insurance.
good luck

Anne is right a corporate rate is your best bet.

You can shop around BUT you may be just better off staying on-site and, if necessary, take a cab or 2.

We were having the same problem, cruising 2 weeks before turning 25.

If you can join National's Emerald Club (see mousesavers.com for a list of organizations you may already belong to that offer free Emerald Club membership as a perk), the "young renter" fee is only $10 a day in FL. Combined with discount codes, we found a decent rate through National, although it does take some patience!

Good luck!

IMHO, best to avoid renting a car anyway. Don't rent the car, and use the savings to stay on-site. Whether POP or the All Stars, or get a good discount at the Dolphin perhaps. If you stay on site, everything is taken care of, and you can rent a car next time you come down.

Good luck either way!
