This should not be a weird mystery. There should be a public explanation as to why some sites are banned. It'd be a simple thing to explain--unless of course those reasons aren't on the up and up. I've seen many people here ask for an explanation. But I've seen all of those requests go unanswered. So again, an explanation as to why people on a board about purchasing DVC both direct and through resale can't discuss certain DVC brokers would be appreciated.

Yes, their site. And yes, we are entitled to nothing. But I'd also say that many posters create the content which brings eyes and increases the value of ad sales on the site. Secrecy is not an awesome element in a discussion community. And as you point out, some of the discussion has already started to migrate to "other options," which is sorta sad.

Yep, but to be fair it's LA/OC so there is A LOT of things within that distance of DLR. lol (7 mile radius)

I agree, but as stated below its their site, so they can do whatever they want, & we are free to leave or not use it if we don't like it.
Also we always just hear from the mods, who don't make those decisions, they just enforce the rules. If you want to ask directly, just use a keyword that will link you to their site, & hit the "contact" button.

I am curious what the other options are, as the Facebook groups are even more restrictive in my experience. They are mostly horrible, sadly.

Owners of the site have made the decisions and even as mods we are not privy to why certain websites or businesses are in the boards filter.

That’s a very fair and valid point. I would argue it applies more to the Boomer and Gen X population. Millennials and Z’s will do their own research. They don’t trust easily and we all know how reputable timeshare sales people are.

The new generation won’t value the board sponsors sales model as much. They will value components of it (podcast sponsorship etc) but not as much as the older generations.

It still takes time to know enough in order not to buy something overpriced.

One thing we probably overlooked is that some brokers might know something like off-market listing, similar to when buying a house but much rarer.

Interesting - I hadn't seen them before, or if I did, the site may have appeared to be stale at the time. I'll do some due diligence first and if they are indeed reputable, we'll get them on the site. Thank you for pointing them out!

hey All, YES we are a legit broker and out here in the West Coast. I worked directly for Disney Vacation Club for 13 years in Anaheim as one of their top guides along Andy Berry whom everyone probably knows and YES our listings are legit. I left DVC last year in 2024 and started out so yes we are doing low commissions right now at Flat 5% rate, but we are very real and no smoke / mirrors. Hope that helps! We aren't able to post our site on another sponsored board like this one, hence why you haven't heard of us yet.

One can just quote the business they'd like to recommend using their website address. If it appears with ****** then it's filtered out and cannot be talked about. Most big brokers are allowed.

Interesting, my broker got filtered, so I guess they're one of the verboten, which... doesn't surprise me. It's been an uninspiring experience, but whatever, we're closed, we own the thing. Once the point show up, I'll be leaving a review for sure on their website.
