Rental Car Pricing

I have a question for all you rental car experts. I was checking prices on Alamo this morning and when I price the rental without my Insiders ID number entered, it’s about $8 less than when I enter my ID, why would this be?

Does the insiders account have your airline frequent flier account numbers? If so, they might be adding the daily FF surcharge in to the rental price automatically.

Aha, it does. I guess I should take that off? We only rent maybe twice a year, not much in the way of FF points

I believe the charge is for *airline* FF programs. It's not a bad way to earn some extra miles...you just have to decide if you prefer $8 in your pocket over 400 miles in your FF account.
