rental car for vero beach

There are five of us going to Vero Beach this July. We fly into Orlando then directly to VB. We plan on spending most of our time at VB. We may venture off site but thats not definite. We are looking at renting a mini van from Dollar using the kiss3 code. My dilemma is that if we stay at the VB resort than we probably do not need a rental car. Do you think it would be cost effective to have a limo service or shuttle take us to VB then back to the airport on our checkout.

Get a price on a limo to/from VB and compare to the rental cost from your preferred rental provider. It should be straightforward to determine if it is cost effective or not.

I have been to Vero twice and enjoy it very much but unless you plan on spending all your time right at the resort you are going to want a rental car. Vero DVC is in a residential area. You may want to try some non-Disney restaurants, explore downtown Vero or take a side trip (1 1/2 hrs) to the Kennedy Space Center. You'll need a car if you plan to go anywhere. Nothing is within walking distance.

We've been to VB Resort 3 times and ITA with BobH! No way would I want to stay there without a car.

Although Disney's Vero Beach resort is very nice, you will enjoy having the car to tour the area and dine at all the great local restaurants off property.

There is an AMC movie theater down the road (A1A ?) that we enjoyed many afternoon matinees in, as well as many shopping malls. It is also nice having a car to do a little grocery shopping if you are staying in a larger unit.
