Catching up...

Favorite Pop memory - the Everything Pop store. You could spend a good hour browsing in there. So much to see!!

Favorite dessert- this is tough for me since I don't really have a sweet tooth. I'm going to say creme brulee in Chef's.

Which judge don't you like on Master Chef? I'm in love with all those cooking shows too. You'd think I actually cooked or something. :rotfl2:

The guy in the suit. I don't mind the guy with the white glasses, but the guy in the suit is a snob!! I think he's trying to channel his inner Simon Cowell. Gordon Ramsey may be tough but when it's good, he'll tell you.

Mmmmm favorite deserts. My favorite kind of food!

I find it really hard to narrow my desert choices down. I could easily be one of those people who has desert for dinner. :)

Favorite snack desert though is easily a frozen banana. I distinctly remember having my first one at Disney as a kid, and now it's a tradition that I have one every trip at some point.

Real desert though? I'm so torn. It's a close call between the caramel banana bread pudding at Ohana, the banana white chocolate tower and the cheesecake at the Hollywood Brown Derby. I'd probably have to go with the Ohana bread pudding just because it involves 3 things I love most of all - bananas, caramel and icecream. (It's very, very close though).

That's Joe Bastianich. He is Lidia's son... if you've seen her cookbooks or shows on PBS. Believe he's also partners with Mario Batali in several restaurants. I wonder if it's just the editing that made him look that way? Other stuff I've seen written hasn't made him seem like that.

Marc should try out for Season 2!

Hmmmm.. I haven't tried very many, but of the ones I have, I'd say Rice Cream from the Akershus.

I almost went with the cheesecake from Brown Derby but I had to go with the ice cream because I am most looking forward to that one.

Maybe it is the editing. Some of the looks he was giving the contestants...whew! Scary. I looked him up on wikipedia and seems like all of his restaurants are with Mario Batali. Very cool.

I really want Marc to try it but he says he's not good enough. Pffft.

Hmmmm.. I haven't tried very many, but of the ones I have, I'd say Rice Cream from the Akershus.
The Rice Cream to me could either be really good or really bad. I think it's the texture that bothers me. Is it like tapioca? I can't stand the texture of tapioca. :scared1:

I saw somewhere online...can't remember where that that All Star Movies has many pictures of Walt receiving his Academy Awards, I'd like to get over to see those pictures. They had a few with the article and they were very nice.

Another great reason to visit! It's on my "loose plans" for arrival day to go over there - I hope Henry and I feel up to it!

Favorite Memory of Pop Century - we were only there 1 night, but I VERY much enjoyed the music!!!! One time we were the only people on the bus and I was singing along to "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun". LOVED IT!!

Favorite Dessert - both your ice creams sound divine! Three favorites come to mind - creme brulee, chocolate covered strawberries, and chocolate covered pretzel rods! I think of all those my favorite is creme brulee! :cloud9:

YAY for time flying by!! Mmm..deserts. I miss ice cream, but love that Disney has a non-dairy option. My favorite would probably be..Beaches and Cream. Vanilla Rice Dream with Peanut Butter Topping....Hot Fudge regular sundae for Blake :thumbsup2

OOOOH....Desserts!! I am very partial to Ghiradelli's and I really like the Gold rush!! I will definitely be getting another one of those!

However as far as favorite desserts go...Fried Wontons from Yak and Yeti win hands down!!

Mmmm, now I want ice cream!!! That Haight Ashberry looks so divine!!!

My favorite dessert at Disney has to be zebra domes at Boma or grapefruit cake at Brown Derby. Heck, I have no doubt I could live on desserts alone at Disney. :rotfl:

[butting into a conversation that is totally not mine...sorry about that]

I was saying to DH tonight during the show, "That guy scares the crap out of me!" I think I'd cry if he gave me one of those looks! :scared:

As if Gordon Ramsay isn't intimidating enough!

Oops forgot to quote, but back to rice cream....

It's a little like tapioca, but not as slimy. It really is more of a rice texture but with dreamy, dreamy whippy creamy all around it. Maybe a bit like cottage cheese?? But sweeter and lighter.

I was way behind.

Let's see if I can remember everything I need to catch up on.

Resort I most want to visit-Beach and Yacht club. We went to eat at Cape May's last trip but it was dark and we were really tired.

Favorite CS- It's between Sunshine Seasons and Columbia Harbor House.

Favorite Pop memory-I have to go with just seeing the resort for the first time when we drove up. I loved all the cute signs leading up to the resort and then the big Pop sign. We were so happy to finally be there.

Favorite desert-I'm going to go with the Mango pie at Yak n Yeti. It's the desert still fresh in my mind.

How did I do?

The music around Pop is fantastic, it just puts you in a good mood.

I love those chocolate covered strawberries too. They are just delicious!

It saddens me that you can't have ice cream but yay for Disney having a non-dairy option!!!

I've been craving ice cream like crazy since yesterday.

I'm glad I'm not the only one! We haven't watched last night's episode yet, probably this weekend.

Going with HBD for the desert.
I have to say the creme brulee.:cloud9:
Mmmmm!
I just don't get creme brulee. It taste weird to me. Maybe I just haven't had the right kind. :confused3

Hmmm. I don't know. I'd be willing to try it but I don't think I would be a big fan.

I was way behind.

You did very good catching up!! The mango pie from Y&Y does sound very good. I want to try their cheesecake too since I've made it my business to try just about every Disney cheesecake I come across. :lmao:

35 days! I'm excited, are you?

Least Favorite World Showcase Country

Marc - Canada.

IMG_2014.jpg

Can you believe that? Home of the pretzel breadsticks?! Pffft. He says he likes the garden area but other than that it is disappointing. China was a close second for him because he thinks they should have cooler shops. :rotfl2:

Leslie - Italy.

IMG_1925.jpg

I know a lot of you like Italy but it does nothing for me. Plus I get my MIL's voice in my head talking about her Italian heritage which just makes me shudder. I love me some Italians, heck my husband is Italian but if you knew her voice, you'd get it. :rotfl2:

Do you have a least favorite WS pavilion?

So I have some surprising news...I've been doing some trip musings. I refuse to call it planning. I figured I should get an idea of what parks we will be in when because of the meets I'm trying to plan. I'm leaning towards buying the hoppers right now if we can swing it money wise. I just like the idea of having more flexibility but I won't make a concrete decision on that until we get to Florida.

So here is what I'm thinking....

Wednesday 9/8 - Not 100% sure but leaning towards Magic Kingdom.

Thursday 9/9 - Epcot

Friday 9/10 - Hollywood Studios

Saturday 9/11 - Animal Kingdom

Sunday 9/12 - Magic Kingdom for EMH's (this is where I really want the hoppers so we could do another park in the AM)

Monday 9/13 - Magic Kingdom - this is the only night that MSEP is showing for our trip. If they added a MSEP on Sunday then I would be fine with no hoppers. I'm debating giving up the MK EMH's on Sunday for another park but we'll see.

Tuesday 9/14 - Epcot in AM / MK for MNSSHP in PM

Wednesday 9/15 - Wherever we wish to go.

I know I have tentative meets with Brook, MEK and Leisa. Do you any of these match up with what you are doing???

All caught up! Now, let's see...

Favorite Pop Century Memory: I think my Mom finding her old poncho in the 60s display in the lobby. She's almost certain it's her's since it was a one-of-a-kind one she hand made. She says it even has the same croocked zipper. She thinks it got sold in a yard sale, so maybe Disney bought it.

Favorite Dessert: I;m a sucker for anything in France like mousse, elciars, and chocolate crepes.

Least Favorite WS pavillion: Maybe Japan or the American Adventure. I do like and enjoy both of them though, but I like the others more.

I really don't have a lest favorite pavillion so I'm going to go with The Outpost. Why exactly is it even there?

Easy. Italy. No attraction. Lame entertainment. And pizza?? I know I"m going to get flamed for this... but... I know a lot of folks like pizza, but you can get that on ANY corner in ANY city in the US, and people eat it like once a week or at least once a month. :confused3

I'd have to agree with Marc, my least favorite is Canada. There are only a couple of shops, not a lot to look at... I don't know.... just "blah" to me.

I like your musings (not planning). Isn't having a ticket to MNSSHP like having a hopper for that day? The party ticket gets you into the MK at 4pm or later so in the morning couldn't you use your regular ticket for a different park if you wanted to? That's how I thought it worked but I may be wrong.

Christine you are correct about the tickets and MNSSHP.

I agree with Itlay.....boring (or is there something I'm missing???)

Has everyone seen the new Movie in Canada? I thought it was great and I'm making DH see it this winter.
