Club run disney

On the other hand, anyone who joined for the DL races and don't do the WDW races... maybe they'll bail? Not sure how big that group is though.
Speculation has been that the DL races were a lot of locals, especially at the times of year they were held. Doesn't mean they wouldn't travel to WDW, I suppose.

A hint if you don't currently have Club RunDisney. Be online before the open registration opens. It feels just like trying to register for a race: queues in multiple browsers and everything. However, we got lucky with a short queue and I was able to grab gold registrations for both of us without having to have the Silver first.

When did this occur?

I got the ok from my better half to try to sign up for club run Disney when/if it opens. Hopefully all of the people non-dis people talking about will realize you don’t get any signup benefits at silver and will decide not to sign up lol

When did this occur?
According to earlier in the thread the cycle began in late April. Platinum gets the chance to renew, then Gold can renew or move up, then Silver can renew or move up. Silver folks most likely WILL move up, because they initially signed up in order to eventually get the Gold benefits. Whatever is left goes to new folks. I have no idea if Gold had been available to any new people last year, I don't see any posts here from people who signed up last year.

And...sliver would only allow me to register....but if I wanted to register my kids they would either have to have their own CrD membership or sign up in the common scrum like we did this morning?

Silver doesn't get you any registrations, gold gets you 1 event for yourself per weekend and an early shopping window, platinum gets you 2 events for yourself per weekend, an even earlier shopping window, guaranteed B corral placement, and a one-stop expo pick-up spot (rather than bibs being one building and shirts being in another)

Silver basically just gets you a nice jacket, a virtual medal, a couple of other items, and (most importantly) priority to upgrade to gold the following year.

I'm expecting unprecedented levels of Club RunDisney upgrades/buy ins to silver. There are so many disappointed people all over social media. While the price is steep, a post-registration charity bib is far steeper. I have held off thus far but admit it is tempting to join, but silver sold out before I really looked into it. The early merch access is honestly a big selling point for me, not for the merch alone, but for being able to get through the expo early in the day instead of it taking half a day (or more).

Holding off on having the convo about cRD. Since we are currently going through upgrading my handcycle parts (upgrading to an electronic gear shift which requires three more parts in addition to get it all set up. New chain, new teeth ring, and a new deraileur). And I won't know yet if I will be getting a grant to cover the costs of the parts for another week. So don't feel like dumping that on family member yet until I know where everything stands.

I was wondering about this.

If I sign up for club runDisney, does the one registration per race weekend guaranteed mean I have to choose one race per weekend or can I choose Dopey or a different challenge?

I'm currently really interested in 2028 Marathon weekend with the anniversaries and possible emphasis on Mickey due to 2028 being the 100th anniversary of the Mouse himself.

Like @Naomeri said above, you don’t get any of that with the silver membership. Current gold members get an opportunity to purchase platinum access, then current silver members can upgrade to gold. The spots for new people are almost always just silver.

Additionally, if you were to get membership, I believe the the perks don’t start until Jan 1, 2027. So you wouldn’t be able to register using your club rundisney membership until after then, which means you would likely only have it for wine & dine in 2027.

It’s very convoluted so just be sure you know what you’re getting in to.

To all those asking about getting gold in your first shot, I believe some people did last year. I did 2 years ago. Just treat it like a race registration. Luckily when it opens to the general public it's a link on the webpage like races are. To anyone who is silver, trying to get gold it's a little more complicated. Last year I was considering upgrading to platinum but for some reason the link didn't show up in my account until 5 minutes after the time it was supposed to (I was refreshing and everything) and by the time the link showed up, Platinum was gone. I know others had the same issue. Not sure if it was a fluke last year, but with the rundisney IT, I assume it was not a fluke.

Wow. Yesterday was a disappointment (I did get marathons for me and my daughter at least...her first) but I am not sure I can get onto another Disney hamster wheel like that....I love the races....but it's also a family affair and so I am looking at trying for multiple memberships....ugh.

I thought I had remembered this happening sometime, just didn’t see any evidence of it from last year. Hard to predict what will be available this time but as @Disneyhanna said I would expect a lot more competition to jump in.
