I have a few questions concerning the refillable mugs. Are there any refill stations in the parks at WDW? Also, can you refill the mugs at other resorts? I mean, can you buy a mug at BWV and refill it at VWL? Finally, can you use the mugs on multiple vacation?

Thank you

Not refillable in the parks.

YES, you can refill at other resorts (one of the reasons they switched to the generic mug was to accomodate guests with split stays)

The mugs are good for the length of stay, so bringing them back is technically a no-no.

You really need to consider whether or not its worth it. For example we don't use them that much as we usually don't stop at the resort CS restuarant because its out of the way or we are using the DDP which includes a drink. Sometimes we just get one for my husband/self to share if we feel like getting a soda once in a blue moon.

If we decide to spend a lot of time at our resort pool, we might buy one, especially if they have frozen Cokes. Otherwise, no, we don't buy them.

Since this is not a DVC specific topic, but a resorts question, I am sending this over to our Resorts Board for more input. Thank you.

We call them "cold ones" cups. Even the 4 year old calls them cold ones cups. We bought two in December and I wanted to bring them in March. DH would not let me because he swore they had on Christmas outfits. They were the same in March.

Anyway, we bought another in March. We would fill it on the way to the park and on the way back. We were there for 10 days so at $2 a soda x 20 sodas we would have spent about $40. So we did save a lot of money buying the 13 cup.

The cups this year ARE different from last year. Last year's had 2007 on them, this year does not have the year. It clearly states on the cup that it is for use for the length of your stay. Using it on subsequent trips is "against the rules".

The mugs are not refillable in the parks. The "rules" about the mugs seem to be subjective. The wording on the mugs says (looking at my Oct. 2007 mug) "Free refills available at our Resort Beverage Islands until the end of the stay in which the mug was purchased." and on the signs at the drink stations says something about mugs are refillable at the place of purchase. The mugs do not have resort specific designs anymore so it is unclear if you can refill the mugs at whatever resort you want to. The wording on the mugs is a little more clear about the mug being good only during the visit in which you purchased the mug.

We don't use refillable mugs. While we are at the parks we drink water, ice tea, or an icee, so we do not dehydrate. So IMO for my family we are not at the hotel enough , nor do my boys want to walk far in the hotel for a refillable drink. We buy a 2L Coke and keep it in our hotel for the evenings.

This thread will self destruct within 10 replies.....:rotfl:

As others have said, the refillable mugs are only good at the resort they're purchased at for the length of your stay. Yes, technically bringing a resort mug back on a subsequent stay is a "no no", however during our stays at Disney we have seen many people using older resort mugs, mugs from other resorts and even mugs from places like 7-11 at the drink stations and we've never seen any CM say anything to anyone about using them. We're not saying it's right, but it happens.

Since all the Resorts expect for Coronado Springs are selling the generic YOAMD mugs, I would say it's ok to use them while visiting other Resorts or during a split stay because it's on the current vacation you purchased them.

PLEASE NOTE THIS IS NO LONGER TRUE. Per management and per my DD who is a CM at the resort call center. One of the reasons they went to the generic mug (besides cost) was to allow guests with split stays to be able to use their mug for the length of their stay, not just the length of time at a particular resort.

If the OP asks a valid question and receives valid, factual responses, there is never any need for popcorn:: :duck: or :furious:

We bring them back every year................. No CM will say anything and don't even care........... This is a hot topic on this board and you will get a lot of different responses. Bring them back and enjoy them!:wizard: popcorn::

The official policy is the mug is good for the length of stay in which you purchased the mugs.

Posting the popcorn smiley is usually the start of the thread heading downhill.

We don't promote on the DIS cheating Disney. Disney has a posted mug policy.
