I've heard that getting an external battery charger for your smart phone is a good idea for in WDW parks.
I don't want to spend a ton bc I prob won't use it other than for WDW trips.
On the otherhand, I don't want to go sooo cheap that it breaks/stops working during our trip.
I need one for an Iphone 5
So many are available on amazon. Any recommendations for type and brand so I can narrow it down?

Size of a lipstick, $19.99, works great.

I have a Mophie case and it is fantastic. It is pricy (about $100.00) but it's amazing. Since it is a case I don't have to carry around anything extra, and with a flick of the switch on the back it gives me a full charge super fast. I love it!

ETA: I bought it for concerts only and didn't think I would use it much but I use it daily. It was expensive but it's so worth it, and I hear their customer service is fantastic (remember to keep the receipt).

I have a Jackery Bar, too. I have the slightly bigger one, for $29.99 because I also use it to charge my iPad. I have an iPhone 4s and I have a Mophie Juice Pack on that. Both work very well.

I got a mophie as part of my upgrade to the Iphone 4( JUST before the 4S came out) so I have no idea what the retail is.

LOVE it.

I have also heard good things about Halo chargers too.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Note3 which has a huge battery. No way it is going to last all day at Disney, and I doubt that the small chargers they sell in Wal Mart and Target are gong to be able to charge it, so I went searching the internet.

I found a "Power Bank" charger on Ebay, rated at 50000 mah, which should be more than enough to charge my battery many times. The price was right around $20. The instructions are a bit sketchy, looks like they wrote them in Chinese, and then used an online translator, but it seems to be working fine.

We have Anker Lipstick chargers ($20 on amazon). They work great, are small, and charge my phone about 2.5 times.

This! My dh just got this one from Amazon for me - works great! I find it a little 'heavy', but batteries 'are' a little heavy, so I will adjust to having it with me when needed - especially Disney and other times I'll need it for long days.

(Really don't understand why some other name brands are so much more expensive....)

Most of the battery packs are universal - you just plug in your phone's USB cable. The main exceptions are the ones with batteries built into cases.

I have a Mophie battery case on my phone all the time anyway, and then I bring an Anker Slim battery pack with me on trips. I also like the Jackery brand of charging devices, but don't currently own one.

I've got the iHome charger - got it at Ross for $15. Works great! Like a previous poster, we only use it on vacation. We charge it every night and take it with us during the day so whoever's phone gets low, we use the 1 charger.

We also have one of these and it's been great. Just note that if you have an Iphone, you need to attach your own cord to it!

Yes, I bought a short cord (amazon basics) for about $2 that I just leave attached to the charger all the time. The included cord does not work for the Iphone 5 or higher.

I like Gorilla Gadgets rechargeable external battery packs. Price varies depending on capacity. I have the 16800mAh model and it worked great. I highly recommend buying a product than can charge two devices simultaneously via USB cables. I bought mine on Woot but you can check out their web site.

Ditto. I've had a couple of Mophie cases through a couple of iPhones and they've all worked great. You have to get used to the weight, but after you do, you hardly notice it's there.

I have a Halo from QVC and it works great. Kind of the size of a man's bi-fold wallet. My sister and I both have one and used it on our last trip to Disney and they were amazing. We also carried our cord and wall plug (Iphone has a really small one) and would plug in whenever we found an outlet. Usually during meals or waiting in large rooms.

I picked up the Anker Pro2 20000maH from Amazon for our three phones, works great in my testing so far, looks like we'll get 4-7 full charges each day if we actually needed that, which we might on the day we fly out. I do like the digital % reader on it to give an idea of what's left in it.

Thanks everyone! $20 was about what I am looking to spend so I've got a number of good recommendations here! :thumbsup2
