This was our family's first stay at a moderate resort. We stayed in the AB section which we had requested, 1st floor in building 27. The landscaping is beautiful but walking around the resort and parking lot was not fun. I consider myself good with directions and for the 1st day, I kept getting back to the room in a round-about way. However, the transportation was good, used the buses since our car needed to be returned the day after we checked in (had been on 4 day Wonder cruise.) Used the food court only a few times and they were S-L-O-W. Christmas crowds were approaching but there were 1-2 people serving.
Our rate was AP ($79) so we weren't upset or made complaints, however if I had to pay top $$ I would pick a deluxe. We have also stayed at 2 out 3 value resorts and found them easy to navigate and food courts were speedy. I think if we stay at a moderate in the future, we might chose POFQ since its more condensed. It was too cold to swim so I can't comment on the pools but they looked nice and we did like the quiet pools located around the resort which is an advantage over the value resorts. Hey, its Disney so we still have many more resorts to try.

Thanks for the report. We will be at POR in about 5 weeks and I cannot wait!!!

I stayed here in 2000 with my parents and loved it, now im staying just me and my girlfriend for 6 nights,i can't wait!!! Thanks for your report, im getting sort of anxious!!

We were at POR Dec 12 - 15 and had the same complaint about he food court. There just wasn't enough HELP. It wasn't crowded, but it was SLOW!

We had a rental car and we were very disappointed with the location of our room. It took forever to walk from the parking lot to the room. The frustrating thing was, we passed a ton of EMPTY rooms all weekend to get to ours!

We got stuck with a LOT of rain and that made parking a challenge. The good parking spots were all under water.

I have stayed numerous times at POR and POFQ but this stay was not up to my expectations. Next time I will spend the extra points and stay at a DVC resort.

We stayed at POR in the Alligator Bayou section, Lodge 25 Thanksgiving week and loved it. We didn't mind the walk and if you stayed on the grey brick road, getting to the food court and lobby was a breeze. There are also signs that helped direct you. The bus service was good too.

What we didn't like about the food court was that it only served Coca Cola products for the soft drinks.

You would have that same problem anywhere on disney property. The entire resort serves only coca-cola for their soft drinks.
