Recent menu changes we don't like....

Eggs Benedict at Grand Floridian Café. They only have Lobster Eggs Benedict.

We were at GFC on 11/30 and DH ordered the Lobster Eggs Benedict. The menu there actual indicated that it could be ordered as regular Eggs Benedict even though the menu on MDE doesn't show that.

1) Food raw prices have a tendency to go up.
2) Since there is so many people using the wasteful DDP, they have to make up the costs somewhere.
3) Thus, PEOPLE ARE THEIR OWN WORST ENEMIES.
4) They just have to just grin-and-bear menu changes.

NOTE: Previously, they would simply adjust the menu prices, but DDP reimbursement is a fixed amount for the entire year (starting October for WDW-owned eateries and December for non-WDW-owned), so other economies must be made for the same profit percentage. Additionally, I do not know of a single person who has ever said that a missing favorite men item has ruined their vacation. Until such happens en-masse and folks stop eating at that restaurant, WDW will change menus as they wish.

I really wish they would leave the regular menus alone and have a prix fixe for the DDP.

I don't see you with any information proving that this is only my opinion. What if maaaaybe just maybe I had worked as a food and beverage director at one of the WDW restaurants? I don't think it's me who is the negative one here. See ya.

Such a nice post early in the morning. Wow. :crazy2:

The "See ya" tells me all I need to know.

I want my corn bread without the jalapenos but alas that is what they now serve at FTBBQ at AK.

I really wish they would leave the regular menus alone and have a prix fixe for the DDP.

1) An excellent-wonderful-superb-thoughtful-reasonable-sensible idea.
2) But, this might cut the profit margin for the eatery.
. . . for the company, less profits
. . . for the restaurant manager, a probable career decision
3) And, ANYTHING that benefits the guest without a profit-hike for WDW will not be implemented or tolerated.
4) Disney does nothing that benefits guests without a reasonable Return-On-Investment ("ROI").
5) At least, I have not heard nor seen anything that disputes this fact.
6) And, DDP makes far too much profit for WDW to give more away to guests under the program.

NOTE: Yes, I agree this is arguable, but Disney is in the profit business. They do not, and will not, give things away without a suitable and acceptable profit margin. Being a retired senior business exec, I am not saying this is wrong, I am just pointing out facts. To me (yes, personal opinion), Disney is getting to be more-and-more like a used-car-salesman. They need to improve profits from a decreasing amount of guests . . . attendance is down, but Ogre says profit are up as spending per-guest increases. TRANSLATION: We have found ways to get each guest to spend more on high-profit items. Pardon me, but P.T.Barnum would be proud.

That's funny because when I asked at the GFC in late September about getting standard Eggs Benedict, they said they didn't do them anymore, just the Lobster version.

Not everyone is coming from a big city. Most places including Myrtle Beach where I am, don't charge $15 for a cocktail. That's about triple the price and there is no way that it's because Disney is trying to balance out their cost.

I live in London and $15 (£11.50) for a cocktail in a bar in Central London would not be considered abnormal, especially not for a 'destination' bar or somewhere that served quality ingredients.
I was worried that the prices at Disney would be super extortionate, but if I'm looking at standard central London prices, then i'm a happy girl :)

Dawa bar in Ak is no longer serving the signature Bloody Marys in the morning. They have one standard Bloody Mary, which is good, but I was really looking forward to the other ones.
