Recent menu changes we don't like....

From what I understand, they made some of the more expensive and savory options not snack credit eligible. I could be totally wrong, but the value for us in the dining plan (that happened to be the only "discount" we got while staying for our honeymoon, but it was included so yay?) was wrapped into the Premium Package in 2015, because of where we paid when we used the premium areas. We converted quickservice credits at the premium areas and were able to order from three of four kiosks while at one register. With the premium package gone, it's a lot harder to make that quickservice credit work with only two people at one kiosk, which makes the dining plan very hard to make work economically. I was getting $20+ per credit in food value, though, in some of the transactions by being strategic with hubby and using those areas.

Since we're going back in 2017 for another round, and this time likely without the dining plan or the premium package, it will be a much more simple equation. Also, we can think more about the dinners we choose to do table service for, instead of choosing the most expensive and nicest signatures (which were awesome...) because they are the most "bang for your buck" in Signature dining.
Where did you find this info, because I am not seeing it in any of the 2016 food and wine info I can see. All of the menu pictures I have seen show the snack credit symbols on all the good items.

http://www.disboards.com/threads/qs-credit-for-3-snacks-details-experiences.3562538/#post-56790371 is my source. The reference seems to be the Holidays Around the World, and an insinuation that this could be harbinger to F&G and F&W. It's fleeting, but there.

Can someone confirm or refute that the Holidays around the World have Entrée-priced offerings that are not snack-credit eligible?

That only starts in 2017, correct?

I'm sorry . I'm not sure that would be a good guess. I like it because you could stilluse the extra snack credit to get a dessert with th quick service meal if you want.. OR you can hold off and use it for later. or use the snack credit for something like an order of onion rings at flame tree.

According to the Disney Food Blog, Holidays Around the World booths do have entree priced/sized offerings. So not a snack credit, but you get more food than from the Food and Wine booths.

Hey Moderator, would I be able to ask this thread isn't taken over by DDP questions/statements? They have other threads that deal with that specific topic. I started this one to discuss food items we miss by menu changes. Thanks in advance

NOT TRUE in 2016. We were able to get excellent use of both our snack credits and our QS credits.

What would you ask the Moderators to do? Censor the discussion?
Like all threads on the DIS, this goes where it may.
Sorry you aren't happy

This is my understanding too. That a lot of the portions at the Holiday booths are larger than the typical F & W booths.

I know that it's been mentioned (and was a while ago) but we're still bummed about the Pecos Bill change and the revised 50s Primetime Menu and the changes when Le Cellier went to two credits. There are also some changes to Sanaa's menu I'm not crazy about but as long as they don't touch the bread service, I'll deal.

Also, we haven't noticed a significant lowering of quality or quantity under the dining plan but then we were never lobster folks (although we do eat steak).

uh oh.. what changes were made to 50's prime time?
First they used to have separate lunch and dinner menus. The vegetarian meatballs are no longer vegan or friendly for the same allergies. And I've heard conflicting recent reports about milkshakes as drinks v. desserts.

And the smores dessert is gone. :sad1:

Whoa, you lost me here. I guarantee Disney makes more money off of me using the Deluxe plan than me not using it. So why do they need to "make up the costs" somewhere? I just use it for the convenience. We don't use it when on trips with just the wife and I, but with grown kids it works out best as we are all in different places at times and meet for sig dinners later on.

I think you may be referring to the "FREE DINING"?????? of which I have never used.

Yeah I don't think Disney is EVER in the position to have to "make up the cost" for anything in any area. Their prices are so sky high and ridiculous that there can never be an area where they are covering their asses. We all know that Disney ain't giving jack away for free or doing the consumer any kind of favor to their detriment. Just not happening.

Why so negative on a Disney fan site? I don't know "that Disney ain't giving jack away for free or doing the consumer any kind of favor"
I don't find the prices to be so outrageous in comparison to where I live.

Yeah, Disney prices are high, but anybody that lives big city should be comfortable with price comparison. Entertainment is not cheap. Food is not cheap. Alcohol is especially not cheap. Paid $60 to park at last ballgame I went to in Chi town. Tickets, beers and food amounted to >$500. All for one day, no hotel room.

Not trying to be negative at all, just stating facts for why Disney isn't in a position to have to make up costs. So you're saying that you think the cost of the food they order is on par with what they charge the consumer? I live in a tourist area myself and only the tourist traps over charge in a Disney kind of way. Not every place is outrageously priced. I thought it was common knowledge that you are paying extra for the atmosphere, not because the restaurants are trying to balance out their costs. lol

Not everyone is coming from a big city. Most places including Myrtle Beach where I am, don't charge $15 for a cocktail. That's about triple the price and there is no way that it's because Disney is trying to balance out their cost.

Your "Facts" really are your personal opinion and should be stated as such.

I really liked the liberty slushie with vanilla soft serve top at Sleepy Hollow. It was red white and blue. Imagine rolling up there on my birthday in October last year to it's replacement of lemonade with a frozen berry foam top...

I didn't even get a sugar high...

I don't see you with any information proving that this is only my opinion. What if maaaaybe just maybe I had worked as a food and beverage director at one of the WDW restaurants? I don't think it's me who is the negative one here. See ya.

Whew, reading your post I thought the braised pork at BOG was gone for lunch, but it's dinner. Glad I didn't have to cancel. That's one of my fav meals.
But I agree, abrupt menu changes just about ruined our lunch/budget today...We booked BD about 3 weeks to a month ago, specifically for the Wagyu burger, which was showing online within the past week or so. Our "plan" was to use the anniversary 20% AP discount. However, I double checked the website menu again last night prior to the 24 cancellation, and good thing I did - it was gone! :sad2: I also confirmed by stopping at the restaurant.
It appears BD has gone to an all day menu with the expensive dinner options (except for the $18 Cobb salad). Let's just say, we would not have been happy campers paying the $10 pp fees to avoid dinner prices.
So check your online menus just prior to the cancellation deadline.

We were just at BD on 12/2 for lunch and DH had the burger. I had the Cobb salad and we actually split the two meals. The burger was really good and I see in on the menu posted on MDE. Perhaps the menu changed again.
