You can walk to te CBR Skyliner station, you will need to be there by 8:30am to be able to get on and over to DHS, if you wait for the skyliner to start at Riviera it will be 9am.
Uber and walking from that gas station is an option or going by bus to DHS from Riviera is an option
All of them should put you inside the park before 10am, now if you want to get some early ride done then obviously uber or driving on your own would be more controllable
I would be too nervous relying on the Skyliner, in case of weather, etc. We will have a car, but I prefer to take the Skyliner back. So I’m thinking that the Uber to speedway sounds like a great option.

Seems like some of you are over-thinking it if you're staying on property. Just get to your bus stop early at your resort, you'll be there well before 10:00. Other than labor day weekend crowds are very small, you'll have all day to ride everything multiple times if you want. Taking Ubers to gas stations and walking? It can be done, but really unnecessary imho.

Glad I found this thread so I could find out about BGs. I had no idea even with Covid crowds it was still had to get onto ROTR. Is a BG the only way to get on the ride or is there a real line as well. We'll be at DHS on Wednesday, September 23rd (Our 20th Anniversary) and we're so excited. I'll definitely be practicing how to get a BG from now until then. :)

No normal standby line at all. BGs are the only way to ride.

Will be interesting to see if anything changes with speed of BGs with new hours.

If I had to guess, no real change at 10am, but chance 2pms will pretty much be non existent

Wanted to share my experience from yesterday, since it may answer a few questions I've noticed in the past few pages.

We were staying at POP - and got to the Skyliner station at 7:30 am (a little aggressive, but we were awake anyway and figured why just sit in the room). We were the first people there, maybe 4 other groups showed up in the next 15 minutes. By 8 am I'd say there were 10-12 groups of people. By 8:15 the line was wrapped down past a couple of hotel buildings - so that's the crowd I'd recommend beating.

Since we were first in line, we could hear a lot of the chatting the Skyliner CMs were doing - they stay in contact via radio with CBR to figure out when to start running the Pop line. We overheard a discussion about how long the line was at 8:20, and that if the end of the line was at a certain yo-yo color (red or blue, can't remember), then the Pop line will start running at 8:30. Otherwise the CMs say they will start it at 8:45, if the line isn't "as bad".

Sure enough, we were let in at 8:30. We also heard the CMs radioing a count of guests over to CBR - seemed like a count of how many people/groups. They were figuring out how many of us got to skip the CBR line after landing, and at what point they would start telling Pop riders to go to the back of the CBR line.

We got to CBR station and were immediately directed to the front of the DHS line. One side of the DHS queue was already full of CBR guests, and the other side was full of Pop guests behind us. The CMs there then made 2 lines through the station, one for each resort. I honestly have no idea what they were doing for Riviera, I only watched them pulling people from the CBR line and the Pop unload. Once the separate lines had stretched far enough around to where there was no space left for them to go, they started telling the Pop guests to go to the back of the CBR line. I think this is why we have differing info on if you can skip the CBR line from Pop or not - you can if you're an early arriver, but not after a certain time.

At 8:55, they began letting us on the DHS line, alternating one group from the CBR line and then one group from the Pop line - so we were the second skyliner to arrive at DHS. We noticed they are still holding everyone at the buses until the first skyliner arrives, we were in the temp check at 9 on the dot and saw the HERD of bussed guests all coming up behind us.

We were riding MMRR by 9:15 and riding Slinky by 9:45 - by the time we were off Slinky Dog, the line had gone from an almost walk on for us to wrapped all the way around One Mans Dream. Managed to get over to that nook by the old TSMM entrance and grab Boarding Group TWO for Rise. Couldn't be happier with the way everything turned out, obviously.

Hey - Just... looking for some random feedback here.

I went to Disney last December, about a week after Rise opened. Think I rode it 3 times on that trip, for the 3 days I spent at Disney. I am an experienced Disney traveler. Very park savvy, fairly tech savvy, got up early, understood the boarding group process, got into the park before rope drop, was ready and waiting at drop time. Didn't ever have a problem getting a group first thing in the morning.

Went back in February for just 1 day. Same basic story. Didn't have any issues getting a group.

SO NOW... I'm going back later this month. 2 of my 7 already booked Disney Days will be at Hollywood Studios. This will be my first visit since the onset of the pandemic, and my first visit since they switched over to multiple drop times for boarding groups, and I just want to ask people who have more recent experience - So long as I'm on the ball - Would you anticipate I should have any problems getting a group?

Does the process "feel" about the same as it did back around the time the ride opened? Do groups fill up faster after the pandemic? Slower?

I've been on it 4-5 times already, so if I didn't get to ride I'd be bummed, but I'd live. BUT I'm traveling with someone who will be seeing Galaxy's Edge for the first time, and I'd very much like to do all I can to make sure he doesn't miss it. Time was I'd be less worried about this because prior to the pandemic, 7 days at Disney meant I had 7 chances to attempt boarding, and if I failed, oh well, I could always park hop elsewhere and try again tomorrow. But being limited to only 2 HS days and 2 attempts makes me feel a bit edgier about things. Meh.

Boarding groups are filling within seconds. Each group travels alone so it will just you and your travel partner.

I've never ridden but everything I'm reading here says the experience is as good as ever and you will want to ride for your friend's sake if at all possible!

With the boarding groups filling up so fast, do you think there’s still a good change to get a BG? We are headed there on 9/18 and a little worried.

Obtaining a BG was far easier in January during normal operation and capacity. Now that capacity is a fraction, BGs are gone in mere seconds. Then, modifying a ride party still allowed for obtaining a BG (though 40+ was the best we did). Today, if you have to modify your ride party or if you don't get the process right...forget about it.

On Verizon cellular, between 2 people and the other 3 on Disney Wi-Fi, got BG 4 by joining right at 10am and selecting default party (all of whom where in park). Ecstatic but man this is a stressful and unforgiving process. P.A. announcement at 30 seconds after 7 indicated all BGs were gone for the first queue.

The app now selects everyone in your mde party that is in the park so no need to modify that, it's basically just clicking join 2 times

I am nervous that I will miss a step and lose out. With the smaller crowds does everyone get a group? The park opens at 10 , they give out numbers at 10, how does that work? Don't we have to be in GE to join the virtual queu?

Also, I watched a you tuber in HS over the weekend. He said they have other times during the day that they give out boarding groups. He said we have to ask a CM for the times. Is this in addition to the 10a and 2p times? Or is there a chance I will get there and the time will be different?

Following.
We are only going to HS 1 time this Nov during our trip ... my kids will be crushed if we don't get a boarding group.

I'm so nervous about tomorrow. I think we'll leave bonnet creek at 8:50am. I that should get us there right about 9. I miss the old entrance. It was only a 5 minute drive before.

Because of not being able to park hop, we have one shot at getting a BG. I don’t want to leave anything to chance. Disney transportation is too unreliable in this case. Any other park, 100% agree with you.
