I know this has been answered a zillion times. Sorry! Going in 2 weeks. I have been practicing and on my IPad Pro am successful every time. I am activating a new phone, but the processor will be much less powerful than the iPad Pro. What makes for success? Speed of connection or processor?

They can both play a bit of an impact, but I'd say connection speed will be a bigger factor, especially if you have the app opened and waiting for 10am. after the app is open, it's mostly about getting the connection to Disney servers to pull in the data you need for the BG.

I am seriously considering bringing the iPad Pro and stashing in locker, but am concerned about the heat!

Whoa- I haven’t practiced in weeks, but decided to try today. I got through once, then they were all booked. I’d say about 15-20 seconds.

Quick question - are you able to ride a ride before trying to join a BG? I have seen posts where people seem to get on a ride first. Does that mean rope drop happens a little before official opening? We are going next week and want to be prepared - thank you!

The park opens around 9:20 in the morning and some rides are operating before 10:00 a.m. so some people have been able to ride before joining or join a boarding group while on a ride

I got into the park last Monday around 9:20. Got in line for MMRR inside the building. Was off the ride by 9:45. Your mileage may vary.

So forgive my ignorance. I’ve read the first posts and want to make sure My understanding is correct. My wife and I will be going to DHS a week from tomorrow. We will get into the park by opening. So at that point our next step in order to ride rise of the resistance is to get on our MDE app at 10am and try to secure a boarding pass?!?

get on MDE minutes before 10am, hit the join button on the front page and hit again when your group populates the screen.
Good news you can practice and 10 and 2 everyday until your trip to get familiar with the process

Definitely practice a few times before heading down to get used to timing and button clicks. The boarding groups are gone in 10-15 seconds, so knowing the clicks before will save you time

I think I saw 94 BGs were called today. Not as high as yesterday, but hopefully most were able to ride today.

We were at Studios today right at 9am (officially park opened at 10am). Went through gate at 9:15am. Right to Slinky Dog and 2nd in line. Started boarding at 9:30 on the nose. Then rode Toy Story Mania twice. Off at 9:56 and got boarding group 24 at 10am........

No need to lug your iPad Pro around just to grab a BG unless you just want a big screenshot of your BG number..:rotfl2:

The key factor is practice, practice, practice. Quick fingers hitting familiar buttons is next and a reasonably solid connection could be either Wi-Fi or Cellular data. Just find a spot to stand still for the 30 seconds to get set for the clock to roll over to 10 AM and once you grab your BG in 10 seconds you are free to move about the park...

So what is the best way to get in the park that early? I’ve read where they only allow cars in the parking lot at 9. We are staying onsite, but will have a car. Even if we Uber’d, the driver would not be allowed in until the parking garage opened. Would it be best to stay at a resort we could walk to the park?

How early are you trying to get in? My friends and I have driven in without issues. I shoot to be at the parking tollbooth shortly after 9:15 to avoid being too early and getting turned around.

Walkers would be able to avoid the long car lines that build before park open, but I don't think it would be worth it to get a resort night just to get in the park an extra 15 minutes early.

You can uber or drive your own car, i would not count on Disney transportation, or if being on the park by 9:20 is important to you to ride attractions then you could walk from the epcot resorts
