Oh that's so hard! And really, an eye-opener for me. It's easy to forget that not everything in life revolves around a vacation.

I'm sending your SD all the good vibes I was saving up for my Boarding Group acquisition!
She'll be in great shape to enjoy the trip in a few days! :flower3: :flower3: :flower3:
Thank you for your kind words! We are looking into wheelchair rental. She's a 14-year-old with ADD, so we will see how long that lasts. :rotfl2:We were debating going, since she's already missing so much school, but she's going to be missing school regardless. This is our first vacation as a family, and both kids are super excited.

So, since it's possible to tap into DHS and then leave and still be able to try for a BG, has anyone tried doing this in order to move away from the crowds to get a better signal? Obviously, if you're trying to rope drop something, this isn't a valid strategy.

But say you want to hop over to Epcot to try standby on a few rides while waiting for your BG (assuming you get one). This could be a way to do it.

Lots of people.

Not sure how many actually managed to time it right and get into another park given the 7 and earlier openings until recently, but we’ve had people reporting doing this every now and then. Mostly people who were staying at nearby resorts.

Personally I’m not comfortable with it, incase I run into issues particularly the pretty common ones like missing person from party. But it works.

Hello, longtime lurker and decided to share my RotR experience. First off thanks to everyone on this forum for the valuable and detailed information, pretty much essential in my opinion.

1st Day - Feb 7th, 8am open, called Uber 6.40 (Lyft seemed flaky) arrived at park 6.45. Group 12 for 2 people. Got called 8.30am return by 10.30am. Delayed boarding, queued for 1h15 and rode complete ride
2nd Day - Feb 10th, 8am open, Uber arrived at park 7am. Group 14 for 3 people. Called 8.30am return by 10.30am. Rode almost complete ride with 5 minutes of queuing.
3rd Day - Feb 13th, 8am open, Uber arrived at park 7am. Group 12 for 3 people. Called 9.50am return by 11.50am. Ride broke down and issued FP+. Kept checking but ride seemed to be down until 3.30pm. We had plans at 5 and used the FP for MFSR as we hadn’t braved the 60+ minute queues yet.

We were through the turnstiles at around 7.10-7.15am all 3 days. I used the same method to get a boarding group each time. iPhone 11 power save off, WiFi off, closed unnecessary apps. Opened MDE 5 minutes before 8am then modified an existing FP+ and cancelled the change in an attempt to register we were in the park. Then the 2 most important things in my opinion:
1. A Minute or so before 8am made sure app didn’t sleep (so your session with the server stays active)
2. I only clicked “Find out more” after 8.00 exactly. (Don’t overthink this, it’s a server designed to respond at a certain time). I didn’t click before 8 at all. If I didn’t get a red “join” immediately, I hit “my Status” and was able to join.

I saw people around me manically refreshing, clicking “find out more” before 8, closing/opening apps etc. I think all this does is mess up the session based communication between your app and the server. That’s my theory at least and it worked for my small group.

Was it all worth it though? 6 months ago I knew we would probably have to get up early each day to do RotR and geared most of the planning around early starts. I booked any ADRs for 5pm. I bought 2 days of MK EMHs for me and my daughter. I was also fortunate enough to catch when the HS park hours changed and got several early SDD FPs. We stayed offsite so 30 day FP+s. We had 10 days total at the parks (We are not based in the US so a visit every couple of years). Even trying to keep routines/bedtimes early and having rest days in between, I could see my eager 6 year old struggling in the last 3-4 days, we had to cut down to half a day or less and cancel things.
Given the effort, money, general family exhaustion and mixed results with ‘Rise (or insert new ride with BG here) I cant say that I would take this approach again. Without the SDD FPs and Ogas Cantina they would have been long rather uneventful days at HS. I am guessing this will improve a bit after MMRR opens and queues are dispersed a bit more
My advice would be if you are going for any length of time, get HS/RotR done early in the trip and plan later starts for the rest.
After all this you want to know my daughter’s favourite ride of the trip? Tower of Terror.

How do you turn “power save off” on the iPhone?

You must have really fast fingers and/or extremely strong connections. When I do tests pushing “Find Out More” precisely at 8:00:00, then push “My Status”, then “Join a Boarding Group” and then enter my boarding party (2 additional people), I don‘t get to the “Not So Fast” screen until about 8:00:15. That 15 seconds includes reaction time to push buttons and brief time waiting for each successive screen to load.

Its hard for me to imagine that getting through that whole process in 5 seconds.
So I have the same screens as you (quoting your original post so that I can remember the sequence you’re going through. I believe that, if timed right, the “Join boarding group” button will be lit taking you directly to the part where you can choose your party. It’s the bolded portion I don’t think you have to do, eliminating one step from your process. Again I hit “find out more” right at 8:00:00. But if your button is not lit up, maybe wait one or two seconds after 8 and see if it becomes available right away? That’s what the practice sessions are for!

FWIW, I’m on an iPhone and v. 5.8 - did not intend to update but happened anyway. And while it was a little slow to load the first couple of days after update, it loads pretty well now. If your trip Is not for a little while I would do the update. I’m even one update behind I guess but I’ll have plenty of time before my trip to get that done.

How do you turn “power save off” on the iPhone?
I assume they mean go to settings, battery, and make sure low power mode isn’t on. It’s typically only on when you have les than 20% battery unless you purposely turn it on earlier.

We just rented one for the duration of our trip the last week of Feb. Our DD17 broke her knee recently and we too, are looking at an altered (but still magical) plan for our trip. Kungaloosh!

I know there’s really no way of knowing how any particular day will be, but I just kind of want to check plans for possibly doing ROTR on Sunday. Minnie Van from Yacht Club around 6:45 to get to DHS (7:15 arrival?). Get into the park, go for BG at 8am. What are my chances of getting a boarding group that will actually be called that day? What if my time is called during something like Fantasmic! (for which we are doing the Brown Derby + Fantasmic! Package)?

We’ll still have a couple more days at WDW where I could try again on Tuesday or something...

Your bg will definitely not be called during fantasmic as that's the end of the night and the last bg are called at least an hour before closing. Other than that you have 2 hours to return once your bg is called
As to what are your chances to ride, that is up in the air, i would say 70% chance of getting a bg and riding

The Chart has been updated.

A couple of notes:

- 72 total BG groups were processed - 51 Regular BGs / 21 Backup BGs - for an average rate of 6.0 BG per hour. That beats yesterday's 61 BG / 5.1 per hour rate, but still well below average
- Today was the fastest elapsed time for all BGs to fill that we have seen - around a minute for both Regular & Backup BGs to fill (WAY faster than average based on past performance)

Strange couple of days for sure.

(Just a reminder that the relevancy of studying BG counts and rates per hour assumes that the number of people per BG is a static or close to static number - that is something that is technically not known)

I love the disclaimer at the bottom. True and necessary. But, I love how we now have to consider adding our own terms and conditions for accessing and reading The Chart. "I agree that I have read Post 1. I agree that all information from The Chart is provided for past historical performance only and is NOT an indicator or predictor of future success of securing a BG, receiving recovery, or receiving either fruit and/or prepackaged salty snacks in the event of Stormtrooper, bounty Hunter, or mynock interference. I hold DISBoards and all moderators harmless in the event that the Resistance fails to Rise exactly when and how I would prefer it to fit in my plans."

I like this idea. 😛

Here are some stats from our day. This was our 4th day in a row going for a BG.
7:15- left BWV
7:35- through and tapped in using fingerprint

We waited by Toy Story land to get a BG.
8:00- opening the app and snagged BG9! This was the 2nd group of the day. We were all super excited but managed to keep it to ourselves.
8:47-group called
9:00- entered queue
9:31- off the ride. Everything working. Still amazing, even though we rode it 4 days in a row.

the logistics of our morning worked out just perfect. We rope dropped TSM with a less than 20 minute wait. Then we used our Slinky Dog FP, then our BG was called, then we used our Star Tours FP. All this was done in 2 hours. So lucky to have such a great experience this morning and every day this trip.
Our 4 boarding groups were;
23 (20th of the day)
7 (5th of the day)
13 (4th of the day)
9 (2nd of the day)
It was my iPhone 11 Pro with the updated MDE app that got the BG all 4 days. We stood in 4 different places, all WiFi 4 bars and using Verizon data.
Thanks to all who helped with this thread. Couldn’t have done it with

I was wildly speculating that maybe they're trying to 'rest' Rise up so it is more likely to perform well tomorrow and Sunday which are sure to be absolutely jam-packed, since it always seems to go down the day after they push a lot of BG through. (I know, no one knows, but speculation is fun eh?)

Just finished an amazing SWGE day -- our only Disney day! -- that included a successful ride on the phenomenal ROTR. I want to thank to the keepers of the Chart and all who have posted here. We went into the day resolved that we would be happy with the thrill of a visit to Batuu even if we didn't ride, but as huge Star Wars fans who may never be back here, we're beyond thrilled to have had this experience. And on such a busy day, too! Our experience in case it helps anyone:

Walk from Swolphin took a little longer than we'd hoped, but we had no problems with bag check or with tapping in with hard tickets (even though we didn't know which ticket belonged to which person!), and we joined the back of the large crowd awaiting rope drop by 7:40. We didn't try to push forward, but more folks did fill in behind us. We had 4-5 bars on our AT&T service. Total of 5 phones trying for a group for our party of 5. Based on what I'd read here, we tried a variety of methods, and here's how they worked in order of success:

1 iPhone 7 on data handled by teen 1 - got BG 47. Went through "My Status." Says her page auto-refreshed due to some setting she has.
2 Iphone8 on WiFi handled by teen 2. Just a click behind teen 1. His method looked like repeatedly whacking "Join Boarding Group" (after "Find Out More").
3 iPhone 7 on data, adult 1 (me). "Join Boarding Group" didn't light up so I went through "My Status" and had selected and entered our group when teen 1 yelled.
4 Samsung Galaxy in my other hand on data -- "Join Boarding Group" didn't light up and response was slower than the iPhone in my other hand
5 iPhone 10 on data, adult 2 - no "Join Boarding Group," very slow response

I just installed My Disney Experience on all of these phones except my iPhone 7 (phone 3) in the last few days. None of them has had any trouble loading the app, whether before or today.

I don't know if our results really point to anything other than teenagers being fast at whacking buttons, but make of them what you will! Again, we were absolutely thrilled with our day and are very appreciative of the info we got here, especially considering the crowds. This morning, all boarding groups were well and truly gone very early in the 8:01 minute. I didn't hear anyone around us vocalizing heartbreak, but I did hear many people talking about their backup groups. It really was pretty crazy how fast everything went.

Oh, we did miss our Oga's reservation by half an hour due to ROTR (I think the ROTR line was longer/slower than I expected), but they had zero problem letting us in.

Moons rising, and may the force be with you all!

SUPER GOOD NEWS!! MDE just pushed a new update. Of course, the first thing I tried doing was logging into the app to check for speed on my iPhone. It is much faster!! If you are going soon, and have an iPhone, your chances just got that much better. Definitely update your app now 😀😀
What version is the new update? I couldn't see any updates on my phone so I deleted and re-installed the app. But when I open it, I still have the same version that I got yesterday.

What's the latest version, 5.8.1 Build 20200211.1 ?
