I think I finally got through today at 8:02 and ended up with 116. My button didn’t show up and I needed to restart the app, and my wife only had herself show up so she couldn’t add me and the kids. Also doesn’t look like anyone is boarding yet (8:45 now), so looks like we won’t get to ride today. Annoying, since we got the kids up super early and were at the park at 6:50 this morning.

If you do this again another day (or for anyone else reading) if people are missing from your party go ahead and join anyways and approach a GET CM to have it fixed afterwards.

@jbish I think I have an explanation for what’s causing the different times. It could be a lot of things but I would speculate that it’s further evidence that Disneys architecture involves not one giant database but several slightly smaller databases. I came to that conclusion poking the FP system and doing a little research. But this is all speculation - zero proof (they need to offer lunch with a Disney IT Engineer). But if they have several databases to spread out the hit they get at opening and each database has a set number of regular BGs assigned to it then the database that some people are assigned to will run out of regulars before others. And some people will see them go half a minute before others.

We're going on Monday and I'm pretty much just assuming we're not riding at this point, but, we shall see. Better to be pleasantly surprised than disappointed.

same here - well, maybe not assuming we won't ride but at least knowing that is a possibility and if it happens I won't let it ruin our day or trip or anything. All the rest of Galaxy's Edge is also brand new to us, so still plenty to do and be excited about!

Heck, my 5 year old when asked where are we going for vacation keeps saying "We are going to Star Wars Land!!!" so I think we will be fine either way

Interesting theory. Makes it such a gamble....ugh.

What I saw that I took as they were on back ups was it said back up on wait time. I've found that happens first snd the pop up saying you're getting a back up.takes longer.

Ditto. I always see that first - "Estimated Wait: Backup Group" or something at the top of the page. Then, several seconds later (after at least another time through the process), I start getting the pop-up.

Yeah, 9:15 and still not open. The ride has had days where it makes a miraculous comeback and cranks through many groups even after a delayed opening, but no doubt it can set the stage for a day of off performance. Good luck to those there today. Baseline Tap House opens at 10:30am. 8-)

Ah yes, the brutal day where the initial elation of achieving the coveted low number boarding group turns into despair as you watch your hopes and dreams collapse with each passing minute and the choice to leave the park and go on with your day becomes the modern "paper or plastic" dilemma of today's WDW. Do I stay? or do I go? :confused3 :badpc::confused:

Wonder if they knew something was up and why BGs (including backup) went so fast, gave out less than normal as knew no shot to get to 115 BGs or whatever

We are at 116. Looks like on average they get to 120 around 6:20pm. If they open the ride in the next 10 minutes then that puts us right around park close at 8pm... we are thinking about coming tomorrow again but we have an ADR for dinner at Boma and have the afternoon planned at AK...not sure what to do.

if you are hanging around DHS today, especially if you get the message saying that your bg will not board you can always go to Guest Relations and see if they can do anything for the next day. The worst they can say is No, but it doesn't hurt to try
