Question about boarding groups and cellular carriers. We go down in about 2 weeks. Are their any carriers that have no or poor connections in DHS? I ask because I've heard wifi is unreliable and if our carrier doesn't work well it's unlikely we'll get a boarding group. Thanks.

We are there Jan 28 and I only have one WDW day as it's a cruise stop so I have been following this thread for weeks now. This morning I logged in to MDE to practice getting a boarding group and I am not seeing what everyone else is and what YouTube videos show. When I log in to MDE I see the mini park map centered on the castle and right under it my reservation for Oga's on the 28th. I don't see anything about SWGE or ROTR so cannot click 'find out more' like others seem to be able to. If I scroll down, I see a scrolling advert that includes SWGE as the third screen (I can swipe to make it change faster instead of waiting) and then click SWGE and that changes the new screen to show that pic of ROTR that everyone else is showing but there's no 'learn more' or find out more' option. If I scroll way, way down I can see a link imbedded in a paragraph about BGs that talks about learning more. If I hit that link, I get taken to a new page that is completely blank (screen is all white, like it's not loading). No matter how often I do this or how long I wait, the white screen just stays.

I tried using the search function from the main page in MDE and type "Star Wars". The first option (as in, the most popular search) is 'status and access for ROTR' and when I select that option, I get the same white screen.

I have updated my OS (iPhone) and also the MDE app. I am at a loss but now I'm scared I have tech problems I didn't know i had.

Can anyone advise how to fix this issue?

Hopefully - although I think this weekend will be the first real test since the holiday crowds left. Last year MLK weekend was much higher crowds than marathon weekend. Fingers crossed we don't see any more 90 second BG craziness!

Everyday everyone without tech issues got a BG at opening. Even 90secs gets everyone without tech issues. It's more reasonable again without the pure anxiety provoking seconds.

My hope is that they get the ride robust enough to not have to open the park early and get back to normal hours.

I wonder if mmrr will improve or exacerbate the issue....

The ticket has to be linked or it wouldn’t know. Guest relations can help if you’re in the park or add the ticket into your app yourself.

I think if you want to use the app to book a boarding group, your ticket would have to be linked. Otherwise you would need to find a cm in a blue shirt (GET cm) to book for you.

Ok so to be clear, my best chance of getting in a boarding group is to be at the park prior to opening, andbe in the app and be ready to tap join “boarding group”at park opening?
Does my entire party of 6 have to be with me?

yesterday it was down 3 times but each time was only like ~20 mins ... I think it just gets mentioned places (often multiple times) when it goes down so it seems like it - but yesterday was a great day, overall, as far as how many BGs they got through

This is definitely not true. While there have been some delays of varying durations almost every, if not every, day since the attraction opened, they wouldn’t be getting through over 100 BGs if the ride were down more than operating.

Yes, as others have noted, everyone who wants to ride also has to be tapped into the park.

A couple more things: (1) all the members of your party, assuming they have MDE, can also try for a BG. Everyone should either be using the selfsame MDE account or have everyone in the party linked on their MDE account. The first person who's successful will make the others' tries moot.
(2) I believe more success has been noted with people opening their app at park opening time, not beforehand. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong about this.
