Anyone else catch the advanced screening on Saturday? I have to say that it was spectacular!

I'll admit it still isn't my favorite Pixar movie, but it's definitely up there, and it had some of the funniest moments in any Pixar movie.

I won't spoil anything about the movie itself, but I will say that before the movie there's a really neat trailer about Pixar's next movie coming out next summer called Wall-E. It's about a robot, and it says something like "What if you did the same thing for 700 years and then finally discovered what you were meant to do?" It sounds really neat.

Oh, and I also want to mention that the short film that is shown before the movie is the most hilarious short film yet!

This is a sore spot for me & DH....

We bought our tickets, went to the theatre...five minutes before the show was supposed to start, the power went out and emergency lights came on. After sitting in the theatre for about 20 minutes, someone went to find out what was going on (nope, no worker even bothered to come in) and found out a power line had gone down further up the road and they shut down the entire grid's power but said we could wait if we wanted to. Ten minutes after that, a worker finally comes in saying the theatre had to be evacuated and they would not be staying open for the evening. People started asking about refunds, etc...she said she doubted we'd be getting "readmit" tickets since this was a sneak preview and not a paid movie. Several of us started speaking up as we ALL paid full price for the movie. So she had to get the manager and the manager confirmed we did pay and would get readmit passes (good for any movie at any time...it doesn't expire). We got our readmits, but found out they would not be rescheduling the sneak preview. So nope, we didn't get to see it. I'm bummed.

I'm really sorry to hear that. Of all the times for something like that to happen...

At least you'll still get to see it when it comes out with your readmit passes.

I'm really just glad it didn't happen while we were watching the movie. I would rather wait to see the entire thing than watch part of it and then have to leave. We felt really bad for the theatre patrons who were in the middle of their movies when the power went down. Yikes!

I have heard excellent reviews of the movie though...I can't wait to see it!

I think that the movie Ratatouille is a great movie and funny too. The part about Wall-E is true, and I have seen some upcoming movies in the next few years in a magazine (TIME).

Really? I thought they cancelled Toy Story 3 because the storyline wasn't as good as they wanted it to be.

I just did a quick online search and according to numerous articles I've found, Toy Story 3 was cancelled back in January 2006. However, I also found that it was later announced that it was back on. It's listed on the imdb.com as a 2009 release.

or are they just finshing and releasing the ones that they had already started before that announcement?

That was before Disney finally bought Pixar. Pixar was ending their contract
with Disney, but when Eisner was forced out, Pixar was able to negotiate a
buyout with Disney that suited both companies, and Disney will benefit with
all that creative talent promoted to high levels of animation and Imagineering.

Since Pixar is now a part of Disney, expect to see Toy Story 3 in the next
couple of years.

somehow I never heard that Disney bought Pixar! how did miss that?
