Can you use a magic band to pay at Rainforest Cafe at Disney Springs?

The kids (16 and 18) want to eat here while the parents have a date night.

Yes, you can use a magicband ar RFC. However, I have been there at a time when their “system was down” and couldn’t read magicbands, so I had to pay with a credit card. We didn’t find that out until after eating. I’ve had that happen a couple other times across WDW as well, so I’d be nervous sending my kids off to dinner without an alternative payment method.

No problem. I'm sorry if I came across harsh - I just sometimes (this isn't about you) wonder why people on this board will post things that aren't true instead of waiting for someone to weigh in who might have more experience. It happens a lot - but again, I apologize - I don't think I was very kind.

They can use magic bands but make sure they work and they know the Pin code. Mine were set to no pay since it started years back last year I gave access on the app but it did not work had to go to the front desk to have it updated.

You might already know this but since Rainforest is owned by Landry's, you can sign up on line to join their club. It costs $25 and you immediately get a $25 gift card. You also get $25 for the member's birthday month. In addition, you get priority seating that actually works. We have been seated almost immediately when they were turning other people away. We usually make an ADR, but have been seated very quickly without one, as well.

I definitely would go the Landrys membership and gift card route, in case of MB glitches.
PIF you want to spring free of them on more occasions, you can also get a debit card with a preloaded amount to give them, and you, some freedom.
