I bought one of these vouchers for rainforest cafe. I have two questions:
1. Has anyone been told (while at RFC) that they could not add on the extra (i.e. shrip, salad) for free?
2. Will I have a problem if it is just myself and ds and only one voucher?

1) Yes I did see a post about that. One, maybe two people. Most people report getting to add on. Either way it is a ton of food.
2) No problem, unless you try to share the drink. That is a no no.

I wish I loved to exercise as much as I love to eat.

We were there in May and were told we could not do the "add-ons" but we could do the steak and lobster. More than enough for two. We used 5 vouchers for 9 people and had more than enough for all of us.

We were just there a few days ago and were not able to add on anything. We did wind up with a ton of food.

We've never been able to add-on. We've always been able to upgrade and switch. Instead of the small steak it came with, we upgrade to primal. Instead of stuffed lobster, we switch to cocoanut shrimp (and you get a lot..not the amount that comes with the shrimp and steak). Instead of their vegetable medley, I get mashed potatoes, etc.

We had dinner here 4/29 on vouchers and had no problems at all. We ate on 2 adult and 1 child voucher for the 4 of us and left with all of our deserts, ½ of the appetizer my 2 year old had for a meal and ½ of the food my 4 year old had to bring back to the room (we were at VWL so we had a fridge). I would have used 2 child and one adult but we got there and I realized rather than grabbing 2 of each I grabbed 3 adult and 1 child.

Our server asked if we wanted an add on so I assume we could have but we didn't think we needed it. The kids could order off the adult menu. The only restriction was that the sampler appetizer and the volcano desert each required 2 vouchers if you wanted to get those.

I KEEP asking these questions about RFC but I have not gotten an answer. WHERE do you get the vouchers for lobster and steak?????

Our waiter always asks us if we would like an upgrade, but then when I ask if it's included, he says no, he would charge for the add on. Sometimes we've paid extra for the salad.

Bella..I went back to look where you had asked about these and I just saw it in one thread that was about RFC gift certificates. Those are different (and if you go back and look, you'll see that someone has now answered you). If you go to the top of the board, you'll see a thread talking about the meal vouchers. Or do a search for vouchers and you'll see lots of threads about them. I got mine through Hotwire..they were a little over $30 each.

You get them from Hotwire savings club.
Read the first page of the "Everything you need to know about connections vouchers" thread stuck to the top of this board.
The Rainforest ones are the VKL vouchers at $31 adult, $12.75 (I think) child.

They changed the steak for us to a bigger one (we could have gotten a better cut, but the sirloin was a bigger portion to share). They gave us an extra plate and we shared, and even gave some to DD1. The desert was delicious (the cheesecake). DH had the drink because I usually get water. We will be using the lunch voucher again in Sept to share dinner, but I will also get a child's voucher for DD11. Then the four of us will share between the two vouchers. I hope they don't change the rules before then, as it was a nice sit down meal for the price. We were in a rush when we went, so we ordered everything through the desert as soon as we sat down, and they were very accomodating. Can't wait to get there & try the volcanoe & appetizer sampler- do you get much more appetizers than if you were to order two separate ones? Also, are you guys saying you were able to order a full adult meal with the child's voucher? I was picturing a child's meal plus an adult appetizer and desert. Which is correct? I am sure DD11 would prefer ribs or something over chicken fingers, hamburgers, or pizza. I am crossing my fingers they let her order off the adult menu (if not, I'm sure she'll still eat well!)

Thy have let kids order off the menu our last few trips..last trip was in January.

Another question, if ds is 12, he could order from kids menu. vkl voucher for child states up to age 9. What voucher would I have to buy for him.

since most of their establishments offer children's prices on meals through age 11. The rep I spoke to said she would suggest purchasing the child's voucher, although she was not 100% sure what the exact rules are. She said we probably would not be questioned- since the children are considered so through age 11, we will make the PS for 2 adults, a child and an infant (I also have a DD1). At least one person has used the child's voucher for their child (who was either 10 or 11) and they said they weren't questioned. If it is an issue at any meal, I would just pay for the adult meal. Can anyone else enlighten us with your experience?

Rainforest told us to use the child's voucher (the cheaper price) the child has to be the age stated on the voucher. We only used one, since one of the "kids" was older (10). Still plenty of food. I don't know what Disney does, since we have never found the lunch voucher a good deal at regular Disney restaurants.

My DDs will be 11 and 1 (just two weeks shy of 2) when we go. At RFC, could we still use the one child's voucher for DD1, and she could share with DD11? Maybe I should call WDW dining again to get a more definitive answer on breakfast at CRT, etc.

I called Disney dining & at first, the rep said that they can be used for DD11. I said "who do I need to speak with to be 100% sure", and she called Dining Services (who I thought I was speaking with already) and they said that if it says 3-9, then its 3-9. Do the breakfast vouchers say 3-9 as well? I'll probably still get one kid's VKL, though, to use for DD1, unless they don't allow younger kids to use it. A lot of work to save a few $. I guess you're ok using them if you use the "don't ask, don't tell" approach to using the vouchers for 9 & 10 year olds, but I don't want to teach my DD11 to do that. The CM was actually encouraging me in so many words to go ahead and use the children's voucher, because they don't require id, but I would be uncomfortable for the entire meal if I lied.

At RFC, could we still use the one child's voucher for DD1,

Yes..at least up til my last visit. As long as one child is under 9 or whatever it is, you can. And they'll bring plates to share, etc. They really don't care who eats the ordered food, as long as you have one child for each child voucher you use. You might want to order what the grown up will eat, using childs and get child a kids meal of their own.
