FREE dining plan for kids in 2026 is valid for DVC point stays

No, I'm just disappointed that someone would (a) invent a completely fictitious guest to get free food and (b) justify it by saying that "well, anyone would do it."

Yes, well that too. It's good to know that in these uncertain times, some things can be counted upon!

Well maybe you only see the good in people, which is nice, I'm more realistic.

If there is an obviously loophole people will exploit it. Of course not everyone, but a lot will.

Easier? Probably. Better? Arguable.

In my experience, most people are generally honest and ethical. It also turns out that it is psychologically easier to behave ethically (or unethically) if you believe that most of those around you are honest (or dishonest). So, there are also some externalities. Dan Ariely at Duke has stuidied this extensively---and, potentially, experienced it personally, depending on whom you believe. This is a good introduction to his work. It's an easy read, and I enjoyed it.

Feels like I just watched a scene from Inside Out play out on disboards.

Anyways, yay DVC stays being eligible for a discount rather than the value of our membership undercut by gen pop discounts!

I won't buy this book, but if kids can get it for free, I'll make an account for my fictional son 🤣

I do occasionally have to remind my (computer science) students that they will make their living by generating and selling IP, so they probably want to be in the habit of e.g. buying books rather than "finding them on the web."
