Oh dear, going next week and I see some rain (although it is a week away). Have never had rain while at Disney- what parks do you venture to?

Which ever you one you want to. :goodvibes

Its August so its going to probably rain somewhere in WDW everyday. Just put on your poncho and go for it.

Now if they are predicting an all day rain you should maybe stay away from AK.

During the summer time it usually rains every day around lunch time, but Disney is still fun in the rain. If I had to choose one park to do in the rain, I would personally go with the Magic KIngdom. Because, it has a lot of rides that are close to each other, so you won't get too wet while going from ride to ride. Also, a lot of rides at the Magic Kingdom, the lines are mostly indoor so you won't get wet. Also there are a few dining spots were you can enjoy a nice meal indoors.

I wouldn't recommend going to the Animal Kingdom or EPCOT in the rain because they are both big parks, and it will involve a lot of walking and getting wet, and both parks have lines that may be outside lines.

You could also go to DHS in the rain, just because the Tower of Terror is so much better/scarier when it's raining out, it makes it feel 10X more real!

People are so varied. We LOVE rain and AK to me is more mystical and rainforest like (not to mention empty) when the wet stuff is falling. There are a few indoor venues, but with quite a walking distance between them. The jungle just takes on a new air.

I would avoid WS in the rain. Going in and out of shops with wet umbrellas or ponchos is unpleasant to me.

I agree with a pp that any of the parks are fun in the rain. We've been caught in the rain in all but MK over the years and had no problems finding things to do. It usually doesn't last very long, but if it does, the crowds really thin out and you have an empty park to have fun in. Hope the weather is good for you, but if it isn't you'll still have lots of fun!

Epcot, while the park is big most things are indoors. Whatever park you pick you are going to spend some time in the rain so just enjoy

The only issue with Epcot is Test track since they stop running it in the rain.

I never let the rain change my plans. I usually plan two half days at each park, so even if it rains on one of my Epcot days, I have another half day to go back and do Test Track. Rain makes some of the rides more fun and a lot of people clear out. I'm always amused when people don't ride Splash Mountain in the rain... You are going to get wet, so what's the difference!

Don't worry about the rain, but pack your own ponchos so you don't have to by them in WDW.

Have a great time! :goodvibes

We like MK in the rain b/c of the indoor attracions particularly in the Fantasyland and Tommorrowland areas and the attractions are close together so you don't have a long walk in the rain to get from one to the next.

It's summer in a subtropical climate. You will most likely have rain every day.

Put on a poncho and do your thing

In the summer at Disney, it rains almost every day in the afternoon. Usually it's just a little sprinkle, but sometimes it's a huge storm. We don't plan which park to go to based on weather and rain, because they are all just fine. Some people will tell you not to go to AK in the rain because a lot of it is outdoors, but some love it. Epcot Future World is pretty okay, because it's mostly inside, but they do close Test Track if it gets too wet which kind of sucks. We are usually at WS when it rains, which is kind of a bummer because going in and out of all the shops with wet ponchos and umbrellas is a pain. Magic Kingdom is probably your best bet because a lot of the stuff is either inside or covered and it's smaller, so it's just a short walk through the rain to get to another attraction. Also, the HS rides are good when it rains because they are inside.

Personally, I LIKE it when it rains at DW!! The temps cool down a bit and many folks leave the parks which is just a double bonus! We're going next week and yes, the forecast is "rain" for our entire trip. I just stay away from white garments, wear a hat, and make sure the bag for my 'stuff' is water resistant and keep having fun! ;)

Rainy weather is the early forecast for Aug 17th-Aug 22nd. Oh well! As long as it isn't torrential rain we will still be going to the parks. Hopefully, everyone else will be at Disney Quest.

We're heading there too next week in the rain. Aug14-22. I don't mind rain sometimes but I sure do hope it doesn't rain 9 days straight all day long. Now that would kinda suck. Plus I want to try out the pools at Pop, I've never been before!:)

I'll be down there next week also, and while I can't recommend a specific park to go to when it rains, I have to say one of my favorite pictures from our last visit (Aug 2009) was when we captured lightining in the distance behind the Tower of Terror.

We are down next week too 14-20th. The forecast is for scattered showers/thunderstorms, which I was expecting anyway. It shouldn't kill the week, just find a spot to chill for a bit and keep on having fun after it lets up some.

We're going early September and are planning on rain.....just have your poncho at hand and be prepared. If it does rain, that's a good time to do some shopping or have a meal somewhere.

One of our best times at EPCOT was a day that it rained...the park wasn't crowded and we had a blast. Toward the middle of the day it cleared up and we packed away the ponchos.

I ALWAYS get rained on in Hollywood Studios....so you can bet I will be ready for it.

Have a great time !!!
