Rain.. what park to do in rain, going next week-

We'll be there from the 16th to the 25th - staying at Pop Century. We actually love all the parks in the rain. Someone mentioned avoiding AK in the rain, but I respectfully disagree because: all the animals come out in the rain on the safari ride:woohoo:. They do close it during T-storms:scared1:, but it's running in the rain. Don't let the rain spoil your anticipated good time:headache:. If you get wet, you'll also eventually get dry:cool1:. Go and enjoy:banana:!

This may have already been mentioned but Tomorrowland is great when it rains. Everything is indoors expect Astro Orbiter and Indy Speedway.

There are always showers this time of year so we expect it.We will be there the 18th thru 29th. The rain comes and goes, I doubt it change our daily plans.

I agree with the other responses. There will be short persiod of rain, generally in the afternoon, followed by sunshine and pixie dust. Don't look at the long range forecasts.

AK is the best for a rainy day - all the animals really enjoy the rain, it seems, and are much more active. The trails are great, even if you do get wet. Also, since AK seems hotter than the other parks, the rain helps to cool things down (although a plastic poncho counterbalances that).

I agree that WS at EPCOT stinks in the rain - especially if you are traveling with a cranky husband who hates gift shops!

Freakiest rain story for us - we got trapped in a thunderstorm walking between EPCOT and HS. Lightning hit near the tennis courts at the Boardwalk, just as we walked past. We ended up huddled under the overpass, and one of those globes off the bridge fell off and floated on by. My MIL took pictures of us in our ponchos, trying to stay out of the ever-growing puddles.

During the day it was wonderful to get rain. I just hate when it rains at night. You really can't plan. We got caught in the middle of TS Faye. We got an email from Delta offering to refund airfare, if we wanted. And Disney said they would gladly refund our trip. I'm watching the news and weather radars all night into the morning. I called Disney that morning and the CM said there was no rain, everything was open and running. :upsidedow

We missed our original flight, but caught another one arriving in the afternoon, when we got there again no rain. The parks were empty, it was lovely. The next evening here comes the rain. I have never seen so much rain, but there were enough breaks in between the downpours to enjoy the parks. :goodvibes

These are the same days we will be there? Where are you staying? We don't worry much about rain......a rainy day at WDW is much better than a sunny day at work, as far as we're concerned!
