quick photography/videography question

Hey!

Sorry to ask a question that's undoubtedly answered in other postings, but I'm a little confused....

I've gone through lots of old threads and read the high praise for Randy Chapman and Stan (STVS.) And I've gone through their websites. So I love the idea of using them instead of Disney for photos/video. However, I also remember reading that you could only use Disney for in-park pictures.

I'm having a custom wedding with a 9am ceremony in the U.K. Rose Garden, followed by a 9:30a to 1:30p reception at the living seas (with minimal pictures taken in between since I don't have a wedding party.) So I was planning on the 6-hour photo/video packages from Disney.

So my quick question is: would DFTW allow Randy and Stan for my wedding?

(My slightly longer question involves how the prices would differ, but I'm sure I can investigate that myself. I'm waiting for my BEO to arrive any day now...)

Thanks in advance! Again, sorry to ask a question that's probably come up before. It's just hard to sort out the various rules for custom vs. intimate, in-park vs. out, etc.

Yes they would allow Randy and Stan for your wedding-- im pretty sure of that! They can go to the parks for the wedding & dessert party but have to have an 'escort'- and you pay the 'escort fee' (Which they dont typically even charge you- or so ive heard)

I am one of Randy's biggest fans and can say that his price is very very affordable on all accounts. GL

Thanks for the quick response! I love all the photos you've posted!! And your reviews of Randy really encouraged me to look into the option of having Randy instead of Disney more seriously. (Great trip report, BTW!!) I know my parents really like the idea of letting Disney do everything, to keep things simple. But it seems like a bunch of people on this boards have had negative experiences with Disney. The Randy/Stan choice just seems like a much safer choice. Thanks for the info!

This is just my opinion... I think Randy is every bit worth it.

My fiance and I are pretty straight laced and didnt want to venture out passed Disney. We wanted things simple. When I told DH and my family that i was looking into Randy I think they thought I was waisting my money. But once the photos were here and even when DH just MET randy and saw the style he used toward our photography-- we KNEW we made the right decision- especially when he is so affordable in every way! I think he uses his God given talent very well and is always adding different techniques. Hes really a great guy to work with and his wife Linda is more than accomodating!

Thanks for the compliments. When /if you decide to book id be happy to give you any information you needed. I dont work for Randy and dont get anything out of it-- i just believe that if you provide good service then you deserve high ratings! They truly deserve all the business that they receive. He could charge a whole lot more and still get business but he chooses to remain both affordable and accomodating!
