Hello to all!!

What a great website. My family and I are going to Disney for the very first time! I'm excited. We're planning for arrival on November 11 and staying SOG for about 9 days. Is that part of November a good time?

Also, we're traveling with our three kids, DS 8, DD6 and DS 2. We'll drive. Has anyone experience driving for 17 hours with a two year old? Also, how many amusement rides can a two year old go on?

Thanks for any advice.

I enjoy that time of year... crowds are down, its not sweltering, and x-mas decorations will (should) be up. I personally don't think you can go to WDW at a bad time but thats just me. That being said you chose well because you wont be overwhelmed by the size of crowds that you would during peak season or the holidays.

As for your second question you should check this site out to see the ride restrictions:

it is going to be completly dependent on how tall your two year old is but she will be able to go on all of the childrens rides in Fantasyland for sure. Have a great trip and welcome to the Dis!!!

ps. I forgot to tell you this, I do not have experience driving for that long with a two year old and I hope that I never will have to experience that!!! hehehe j/k I am sure it will be something you remember for the rest of your lives.

The time of year you are going is actually when we originally planned on going but the "Disney Bug" bit me a little early. The discount codes came out and we couldn't resist.

We have a 16 hour drive ahead of us and all of my friends suggest doing the overnight thing...driving through the night so the kids will sleep. My 2 DS's are 6 and 7 so I plan on just taking some snacks, travel games, and their game boys. We do plan on driving some overnight so that may help too.

As far as rides, the link phanomouse gave you should be a good guide but I must say...in MK...they will be able to do alot. There is Dumbo, Small World, Pooh, Carousel, Philharmagic, Country Bear Jamboree...just to name a few. Other parks aren't as "kid friendly" but you will still find plenty to do.

Have a wonderful time!!!!!

We live in southern Ontario (1 hour west of Niagara Falls) and we have driven to Florida twice with small children. It was excellent both times. We left at 8 pm after both kids had their baths and put them in cozy tracksuits. DH drove for about 8hours (after having 3-4 hours sleep before we left) and I drove for about 3 hours before we stopped for breakfast. We recharged our batteries (with caffeine) and got back in the car. We stopped every two hours during the day and each time we got back in the car I gave the kids a toy from the dollar store. We also took Froot Loops and strung necklaces while driving and then they ate them! We were at Hilton Head (18 hours from home) by 2pm the next afternoon. We saved on a hotel stop and didn't have to listen to the kids for 10 of the 18hours! I would do it again without changing anything. Leap pads and magna doodles are great too!
Have fun!

First off, welcome to the Dis!!!

As Im sure you have found out, anything without a height requirement is fine for the little one. Youll be surprised to see how much they can do!
Ive never been in November so I cant help you there.
As for driving, I used to think people who drove from MA(where we are) were crazy, until we were scheduled to fly out 9/24/01. We drove that time, I found out its not so bad, and we have done it 2 more times. We go 24 hours straight through which works well for us. The first time we had DH & myself, a 20 month old, a 4 1/2 yo, and my mother. We did it a year later without my mom, and another year later with another family following us. MY biggest tip is a tv/vcr if you dont already have a dvd player in the car. Our tv was a lifesave with the kids.;)

Welcome! Just remember to plan a day or two where you don't go to the parks, and just enjoy Florida sun with your little ones - hang by the pool, or go over to Ft. Wilderness to the petting zoo, things like that.

We've been in November and the weather was nice, and crowds were very doable.

Have fun!

My 2 year old has been to WDW four times already! And we live in PA!!! haha

Children can ride EVERYTHING that doesnt have a height restriction. When DS was 3 months old, I took him on all the rides if he was awake. This past trip in Jan he was 2, and he had a BLAST!! He even was tall enough for the Barnstormer in Toon town!! You will have an awesome time!!! Its so magical when they are little and the see the characters for the first time. There isnt anything better than an excited toddler at Disneyworld!!!! I have so many pictures of DS on the past 2 trips hugging characters legs while they are signing his older sisters autograph books!! Take lots and lots and lots of film ::yes::

November will be a great time to go! We are going nov 24th this year! It will be our 2nd trip there over thanksgiving. I doubt the christmas decorations will be up as early as the 11th, but you will have good weather and low crowds!!

Have a great time!!!!
