Hi all...

I'll be going to WDW this August and would love to do Dive Quest at the Living Seas. I just got my certification and this would be my first real dive outside of class. How far in advance do I need to reserve a spot? Is it like reservations at restaurants where they open up spots 90 days out? Also, if you did Dive Quest, what did you think about it? I've read that the DVD is a must buy.

Thanks for all the help.

DiveQuest is a very easy dive, excellent choice for a first time diver. I had a lot of fun. I bought the DVD, but haven't actually watched it ... need to go back and dive again (this time with friends)

I'd call now and make the reservations. There are only two dives per day and limited to eight divers per session.

Yes, it is DEFINTELY worth it. I treated my father and stepmother to this a few years ago. They are expert divers, captains of boats, etc. I thought they'd be bored. They still say it's one of the best dives they have ever done.

The first half is a controlled dive where your Cast Member will lead you through the tank, in full view of all the people watching from The Living Seas. After that, you will go off with a dive buddy and explore the tank on your own. The whole dive is videotaped and that's what you can buy after. I highly recommend it. If you have family to watch you, they can get into The Living Seas area and will be a part of the video. People were treating us like stars when they realized we knew the divers in the tank. I had as much fun as my dad and stepmother.

A couple of notes - do not forget your C card. They are VERY strict about credentials. You meet outside the Epcot gates. At Guest Relations at the front of the park. You don't need admission to the park. Your family will, though. If you do have family, plan to meet up with them outside of the Living Seas. You don't know how long it'll take after the dive to change, watch the video, and go through all the other stuff. We waited a very long half hour with nothing to do. And save your receipt for the cost. Since all the proceeds of Dive Quest go to research, the entire thing will be tax deductible for you.
