And if the men read this (and we know they will, for fear we talk about those naughty things that the love to hear us talk about :teeth:), serves them right: ;) (in fact, shhhhh partly the reason for this thread is just to tempt them to look at this thread, only to be totally grossed out afterwards - HA!)

How bad is your PMS? It's, ya know, that time of the month (aka Flo is in town LOL), so it got me thinking, wondering how women differ in their PMS-es. I don't have physical symptoms too badly, but I get a little mental during that week, cry over a steak commercial, etc - stupid crap like that, bite my friend's head off for no apparent reason - just because :teeth:

How bad are your cramps, and are you on "the pill"?? Mine usually aren't too bad, but then again, I'm on the pill, which I'm told helps.

And, if you guys are still reading (doubt they are), and aren't quite grossed out enough yet.....Tampons or pads?? :teeth: I just can't get into the tampon thing, am I the only one or what??

LOL...I'm game to answer...no shame here...

Mine are pretty much ok..I am also on THE PILL(Ortho TriCyclen-LO) which actually has worked very well for me.. Mostly i get aheadache...a bit moody...very rarely, crampy.

I also use tampons...LOL...no pads for me...to messy and bulky....:) :teeth:

Just SHUT UP, WILL YA????

MINE ISN'T BAD AT ALL!!! WHO THE HE** WANTS TO KNOW!! AND WHY!!??

JUST LEAVE ME ALONE !!!!!!!!!!!!!

:D

I can get anywhere from mildly to horribly depressed before and during. It's a real pain.

I used to get such bad cramps that I couldn't keep anything down. Now that I'm on the pill, very little problem there most of the time.

But I sure do get grumpy. I feel sorry for poor DH.

I've been spayed (still have my ovaries so I could get PMS) and I've always been moody, so either I have PMS all the time or never. :teeth:

It hurts just thinking about PMS and cramps!!! For as long as I can remember, my cramps have been terrible enough where I can barely move the first couple of days each cycle. But, my fertility doctor has me on Provera (I've been on it since January '03) to bring on a period, because it decided it didn't want to come on it's own  . The provera makes everything just that much worse -- add on the clomid that I also take every month during AF & someone should just ship me to somewhere quiet. The cramps that were regular for me, added with the Prover and the clomid are awful -- also, I get very depressed, awful headaches, physically sick to my stomach and cry at everything. The sickness part really has nothing to do with the medicine, but the other symptoms are 10 times worse!

If we weren't trying to have children, I'd just stop taking the medicine & wouldn't care if I ever "got it" again!

Pads, all the way. Gross tampon horror story, that I promise I will not be sharing on here!

I clicked out but decided to come back. I am on a very low hormone pill because the regular one where making me feel totally pregnant for the whole month every month for about 8 before my doctor switched me. To the point where I was sick in the mornings and at night... horrible.

Now I don't have that problem but I get a bit emotional for a day or two the week before and the day it starts I get horrible cramps right at the moment it starts but then they go away.

Strange thing though, I get it on Wed and then I leaves Saturday night and Returns Monday mid Morning until Tuesday night.... Anyone ever deal with that before?????? Maybe I am strange... :)

When I was a teenage before I got on the pill I had horrible cramps. They were the I-don't-want-to-ever-get-out-of-bed cramps. Once I went on the pill it calmed it down a lot.

I'm now on Depo...I know, I know it's so bad for me. I was on it before and it took YEARS for my body to get back to normal. But we don't want any more kids and the reason we had our second one sooner than expected was solely because I could never remember to take the pill. So until DH gets "fixed" I decided to go with Depo again.

Mine's manageable. The worst symptom I think I have is what I call my Mrs. Roper syndrome.

Princess Aurora, why do you think depo is so bad for you? I have been on it for 10 years now and since my first shot, I have not had a period. NO period in 10 years!!!!! No tampons, No pads, nada. I would like to see proof it is bad for you. I'm a believer all the way.

I have been doing my own injections for about 6 or 7 years now. I don't intend on having another child but I am not ready to surrender my parts yet. Too permanent for me.

Sometimes I CRAVE tacos or mexican food and when I realize what time of month it I realize it must be when I would have gotten mine. Usually around the first week of the month.

It got better after I got older and had children. :) Now it's almost non-exsistent. (Did I spell that right?? )

I'm on OTC as well - like it a lot better than Yasmin! With it, I rarely get PMSy. Little bit of bloating, little bit of whiny, cry-y feeling. Nasty cramps on the first day, though. I ease them with the Thermacare sticky heating pads. Very awesome product! Oh, and I use pads - tampons, unfortunately, make me ill.

I get very weepy. Watch a comercial on TV and my dh walks in on me crying my eyes out. Also cramps and a very bad headache. Also, the tops of my legs get very heavy and hard to move. Have to stop myself from yelling and getting angry at everyone. Pads all the way.

Well right now I am having no PMS due to being PG! ;) It seems like when I am PG I turn into a totally calm normal person! It's really weird.

When I do have PMS I get really crabby the week before. I tend to be very short with DH (poor guy!)I always know when my period is coming. I can guess the day with great accuracy. My cramps used to be a lot worse before DD. Now they are pretty mild. :)

I'm ok. Not too much happens with me. I do get a bit more sensitive around that time, but cramps are nothing compared to what they used to be.

But then again...Menopause is just around the corner for me ;)

I'm too tired, crabby, and moody to answer this week...ask me later :o

Oh, I feel for you. Last year I came off of the pill for a while because I couldn't get in to see my doctor and I have to take it so I will have one each month. Anyway, I decided that I wasn't going to take Provera again. It was just too painful. But mother nature kicked in the week I had a doctor's appointment. So I didn't have to take it.

If I'm not on the pill I can easily go a year or more between them. But I PMS almost daily. My hormones are really screwed up. On the pill I don't PMS near as much.

I told my doctor that I didn't want to keep taking them, but she said that at my age it is best to.

As for the tampon vs. pad thing, it's a tough one for me. Tampons are too uncomfortable for me and pads just aren't good either. I'm a bit too sensitive. I couldn't wear disposable diapers when I was little, so I guess that's why pads bother me so much. Panty liners don't seem to bother me though. Good thing the pill makes me have just itty bitty periods.

Oh my, I really do think I should have been born a man! I just can't handle all of this crap! :o

Oh my, I really do think I should have been born a man! I just can't handle all of this crap!

AMEN to that!!!!!!!;)

I don't even want to think about PMS. I am still trying to get rid of the migraine I've had for 4 days.

Ok I'll answer. No pills or anything just infertility. My PMS got worse with my kids and as I near 40 (38 now).
My symptoms include the overwhemiling desire to have the house in order otherwise insanity sets in. And I feel the need to cut my hair. It took awhile to figure this out.
I have since stopped cutting my hair, grew out my bangs, which helps. When I feel the PMS rearing its head I clean the house.
That has made my life awhole lot better.
Oh and its pads for me.

I have such bad hormone swings that my dr. put me on zoloft to make me a nicer person. Everyone around me knows when i have missed my happy pills. However, they don't help my periods. I have severe endometriosis and have had it since my early 20's (32 now). I have such bad cramps i can't use tampons. The endo makes my back hurt nearly 24/7 and when I ovulate i know which side it is because I double over in pain. I've had 2 surgeries, 3 different pills, depo lupron (I was menopausal at the ripe old age of 24 for 6 months) and Danazol (which caused my hair to fall out and I gained 20 pounds in 6 weeks). i was told I would probably not be able to get preggers but oops took an antibiotic and was on the pill and it messed up my cycle of almost 2 months and what do you know. I now have a 3 year old. I'm having surgery again in August because the pain is so bad.

sorry, I guess you really didn't want my whole life story!!

My relief is all the chocolate and fat I can find.
