Questions for the ladies.....

I wasn't on the pill for about 10 years and have been on Alysse-28 for about 6 months. I do not totally trust it if you know what I mean.

I am emotional all the time as far as being weepy....well at least lately. Around THAT time, I am very sensitive and take everything personally, blame myself.......

I like tampons usually.

I used to have cramps so bad that I would get all clammy, turn pale, etc. Then I got on the pill and that took care of it. My periods were irregular. No PMS.

After my first child, no cramps, regular periods, no PMS.

Second child, no cramps, less regular periods, no PMS.

In the last couple of years, very heavy, longer periods, less regular periods, one day of PMS where I lose my patience very quickly. I usually catch myself and can control it.

The last six months, hot flashes, very, very heavy periods or hardly non-existant ones. My last one lasted for two and a half weeks. Saw my gyno today and he did a sono on me. Found a fibroid tumor. Waiting for my blood test results to see where we go from here. Oh, yeah, I still get that one day PMS.

As for pads or tampons, I use the biggest pad I can find plus I wear Depends. Otherwise, I couldn't confidently leave the house. You do what you have to do....

My PMS is usually not that bad... I usually only have it every 4 or 5 cycles. When I was on the pill... I had horrible cramps every month. :(

I never had bad cramps, even before I started taking the Pill (Ortho-Tricyclen). Now that I'm on the Pill, my period barely lasts three days! I do get noticeably crankier before it starts, though.

Oh, and I'm a pad kind of gal... I only use tampons if I absolutely must.

My PMS is ok except I get terrible insominia the night before the onset of Aunt Flo. Its horrible , feels like I had 5 cups of coffee!

I had bad cramps that doubled me over, then I went on the Pill (OTC) and they work like a charm! Cramps went away completely! I'm on the Pill til menopause!

I don't like tampons either. I tried them and I couldn't get used to how they felt!

In high school:irregular periods, no cramps, no PMS, just lots of blood.
College: Went on the pill! Demulen? Hooray! Regular light periods, no PMS, bad cramps (to me) but not as bad as other friends.
After marriage: Went off pill. Stopped having periods for quite a while. Don't ovulate very often.
Five years later: Still no baby. Periods every few months are very heavy. No cramps or PMS. Just like being in HS again! Except that my period can last 2 months:(
Have to use pads and tampons for at least part of the cycle, but prefer not to use tampons if I can avoid it.
Have been on Provera...made me very emotional. Have been on Clomid. No baby. Currently without health insurance...happy without drugs, but could do without the months of period!
I also wish I was a man sometimes! ;)

Here's some more tmi.

When I was a teenager it was so mild that I got angry at the girls that would stay home from school because of it. I thought they were just whining. (sorry)
As I have gotten older, it's gotten so much worse. 2 days a month I can't do anything but lay around and feel miserable. The pain is as sharp as a knife sometimes.
As for protection, I have to use both most of the time, and often.
As for PMS, well along with the Mrs. Roper Syndrom, with no one to take it out on, I'm cranky and emotional and sometimes don't even make sense to myself. Oh, and I'm extremely tired.
I am on BCP to help control things and they do help somewhat. My h was broken after Kelsea was born so that was never an issue.
One day I was so nutszoid my girls grounded me and sent me to my room.:o

I used to get terrible cramps before having children, but after that they were tolerable. I can always tell when I'm PMS because 1) I find I start getting anxious about the dumbest and smallest things (will I miss the first 2 minutes of a favorite TV show) and 2) I'll start eating, but nothing I eat satisfies me, so I just keep eating. I'm a size 2 and my husband just can't believe the amount of food I can consume during that 24 hour time period.

Same thing like a few other ladies before me posted --- we have fertility problems so, not many periods for me. Example, started PMSing last week, for 1st time since December! UGH! I am super whimpy, so this is killer for me. Usually have to have provera to start it. Not sure why it started on it's own this time!
I am sorry that you girls suffer frequently. I am like the other poster - wouldn't mind not having it at all. Definately, pads for me unless super bad then try the other alternative!
Geez, the things we talk about on the DIS! ;) You can never tell what you will admit too here! :)
