Questions about Food & Wine

We are going to Epcot on our last day and have the DDP. It will be right before the last weekend of food & wine. We will have our 3 young daughters with us so we won’t be leisurely drinking wine, but I’ve read there are great booths that can count as snack credits. Is that right? We have dinner at Akershus planned but thought earlier in the day we would just use any saved snack credits from earlier days for meals. I’ve read you can trade a QS credit for 3 snacks if it’s in the same transaction- can that be done at food & wine booths? Are the booths like counter service where you don’t need a reservation? Just want to make sure I understand if the strategy to save snacks for Epcot makes sense. We will certainly get snacks at the other parks, but we will have 40 snacks to use so I’m guessing it will be easy to save a bunch for Epcot!

Yes. The booths take snack credits for most anything that is not alcohol. You can exchange a qs for 3 snacks as long as they are in the same transaction. They are just booths, so no reservations. We have found that getting to the booths right when they open at 11 is the best time.

Thanks! So are the booths in the World Showcase? I’ve never been to Epcot so I’m just going by the map...

All the country specific ones are the world Showcase. Over the last couple years they have expended some of the booths into Future World. Last year all "The Chew" booths were in Future World, but since that show was cancelled, I'm not sure what they will replace that area with this year.

There are multiple kiosks scattered thoroughout World Showcase and up to the transition to Future World. Lots of choices. Make sure you pick up a passport at the gate to see the menus of all the kiosks to know what your options are.

I had found in the past two trips I did that not all the booths will convert QS to snack. I think the ones that I ran into problems with were Italy and Japan but the others that I recall were no problem. Just make sure to let them know when you order or they will scan out 3 snacks and you can't reverse it.

A word of advice—unless for some reason you have a boat load of snacks credits, make sure the items you use them toward cost at least $4.00.

Pay cash if an item is less than $4 so that you get value out of the credit. Some things, like the lobster roll and filet mignon, are as much as $8.50. They are what you want to spend your credits to get.

The filet mignon from the Canada booth is so good! There are little booklets you can pick up that mention the food and country and are in order. I think Canada is the end of the book so if you start that direction and work the other way around the lake it will be less crowded since many follow the direction of the booklet.
