So... I've been intending all along to fly into London a few days ahead of my Scotland ABD, then take the train from London to Edinburgh, then fly back from Edinburgh. You can't buy train tickets until around 3 months ahead of time, so I've been waiting to book my train ticket. I got the notification I signed up for from East Coast trains, so went to book my train. Upshot is, I couldn't. So I tried another website, and while it was going to let me book a ticket, there was a warning that they didn't know how this travel was going to affected by construction on the line during the time includes my trip to Edinburgh. So, unless I want to wait until the last minute to see if I can *maybe* take the train or not, it looks like I need to fly to Edinburgh (8.5 hours on the bus is just *not* an option!)
So I'm checking out EasyJet. It's going to take me a bit to get to Stansted Airport (the best flight times from EasyJet's options). And it's probably going to end up costing about the same as the train if I buy a lot of the options to get what I want/need.
So, anyways, does anyone have experience with EasyJet? Can you bring a carryon *and* a personal item, or just a carryon? (The website is confusing!) Any pros, cons?
I appreciate any info or opinions folks have!
