Question Re: Booking a Disneymoon

My DF and I are going to book our Disneymoon soon, and I am putting it on MY Disney Visa since it's in my name. HOWEVER, what happens when I change my name? Obviously I'm going to get a new card, but what happens when we get down there to check in? Does the name change present any problems or does it even matter? Will I have to tell them when we get there to change my last name on the reservation so they'll print my new name on the key card? I'm so confused. Help!

If your disneymoon is right after your wedding none of your information will be changed yet....You will still have to book your plane tickets in your maiden name and everything else....Your name doesnt officially change until you get the ball rolling at the S.S. office
So while its fun to check in as Mr. and Mrs. legally you will probably have your maiden name...

Now if you have a week or two before hand then you will have time to fix everything…other wise just wait till you get back….My bank said it would be a mini of three days before I could get a new card…and that was only after I had the stamp/sealed marriage license from the state

all it took for us to change our disney visa was a phone call stating we changed our name-- they took our word over the phone. I used my disney visa as well and we checked in maiden name and all-- just like Wendy said your name is still your maiden name until you walk out of that social security office with the new one (and you can only do that once you get your marriage certificate back). So no worries-- just check in and things will be fine-- TONS of ppl honeymoon at WDW so they are very used to it.

According to OP's ticker, she isn't going on her Disneymoon until several months after her wedding, so she'd theoretically have enough time to get her name changed by then. I agree with Maggimus, though: a phone call to Disney after you've gotten your new credit cards and such should clear up any confusion.

YES, I am getting married in June, but we're not going on our honeymoon until September, in the meantime I'll be legally changing my name. So all I'll have to do is call Disney to let them know once I get the credit card in my new name?

Yes-- i would call Disney Visa and have them change it (they do this over the phone and didnt need any verification for me)-- and then you just call disney and let them know.

FYI-- Even IF there is confusion-- you will still have your old Drivers Liscense (The DMV will let you keep it they just poke a hole in it-- it will have your maiden name on it)-- and Disney visa will only send you a new card (exact same numbers)-- so just in case they still have your maiden name on the info at Disney World-- you can just show them your old ID and old Credit card-- you should have no problem whatsoever!

Thanks so much for the compliments-- my dress was definitely fit for me, i knew it the first time i saw it. I would LOVE to see your dress. Dont you love pick up skirts? Its something about them--- you just dont see them at every wedding you go to! I would love to hear about your wedding feel free to post a report!
