I am not really sure how I want to post this question and I hope it's not taken wrong by anyone here as it is deffinatly not intended to upset anyone, that being said here goes:
I am a Lead at a Disney Store, I have OPEN Availability meaning any hours any day, I have allways changed shifts when asked and changed my personal schedule when asked to work a different shift than I had originally been scheduled, I don't ask for alot of days off (I didn't even do that before I got the Lead Position) anyway when this weeks schedule was posted my hours had been cut in HALF, for the past 3 or 4 weeks I had had 40 hours now this week I am down to 24. I am just wondering if anyone else would be upset by this if it were them???? It just kind of seems that in the Lead position you are in a VERY GREY area of employment if you know what I mean. You are not FULL TIME, but are you really PART TIME?? You don't get benefits, you don't get a bigger discount, or a better pass to the parks, but the expectaions of you are a bit more than a regular Part Timer......Please don't get me wrong I LOVE MY JOB, I think that is why I am a bit upset about the whole hour change thing. The assistant manager who is doing our schedule now is all worried about giving hours to certain CM's who constantly call off, request days off all the time and come in LATE allmost every shift they work. So I guess I am wondering.....if you were in my possition would you ask about this???? Or would you just accept this? There are people at our store who were hired as Shipment durring Christmas who have only 1 hour less than I do this week. Before they started WE did shipment and certainly NEVER got "46" hours a week to do it. Yeah if two of them are scheduled for 23 hour a piece that is "46" hours for shipment and filling. Well don't we all FILL if we work a closing shift?????
I dunno I guess maybe I am taking this whole thing a little personal, but at this point I am feeling a bit "used" for lack of a better word, so I am looking for imput from some of you to see what you think of it. Should I start asking for days to do things I want to do? I am putting in today for time to go on the Disney Cruise that I booked but am wondering if I am going to have trouble with that after the posts here about new BLOCKED dates as my Cruise is September 14-21. If you have any words of wisdome I would love to hear them, thanks in advance and I hope I didn't sound too whinny about this I am just looking for other oppinions.
