question about next dvc property?

Just wondering when you all thought that SSR would be completely sold ? Are they already selling in the last phase? My interest lies in what the next property might be. I'm a DVC wannabe.

SSR is going to be built over several years as I understand it. My guess is that if they continue to be successful with SSR, they will reconsider the Eagle Pines project which was announced but placed on hold. That would give them a second resort in "DVC II"

I think SSR is a ways from selling out. It's going to be a very large resort when it's finally done. As far as the next DVC resort, there are rumors, but one thing I can guarantee you is that wherever it is, points will be going for much more than the current $95 at SSR.

Our guide at SSR in early July said that there should be an announcement at the end of the year on the next DVC property. They are already selling Phase II of SSR with Phase III soon to be started. I would guess if it continues at the current pace, the resort will be close to selling out in 2 years. I would think that the next project would have to be something Disney could work on immediately to have it ready quickly. My guess is they will either resume Eagle Pines or possibly the Contemporary rumor. Who knows, they may even announce plans for two new resorts! Whatever they decide to do, it should be interesting. Our guide was pretty insistent though that there would be an announcement by the end of the year.

By all accounts, they have only sold 4 of 18 buildings at SSR--that's over a period of just about a year. So, sales at SSR will probably continue for a minimum of 3-4 years.

SSR took about 2 1/2 years to build, and that was with existing infrastructure in place. With that sort of construction lead time, it sounds reasonable that there may be an announcement in the next 12 months with the resort opening around 2008.

I don't even want to think about what points might cost by then...

I believe the current phase (SSR II) will be completed by April 2005 and the rest of the resort by 2007.

Wow!! I wonder if the Contemporary is really a possibility????

I know my family would LOVE that--even if it did mean $$$$

That is my DS's dream resort.

Oh how I love to dream about DVC and CR coming together as one. Wouldn't it be wonderful!!!

Romour has it that they will take over a garden wing and converting that. it would be nice if they do I would be buying more points to go along with what we have and are in the process of purchasing.

I have it on good authority that they are planning the next DVC for the new Mars outpost, out on the Red Planet. Can't wait to go DVC on Mars!
