Question about Magic Bands and APs

Hi, Currently on MDE I have 6 active magic bands...one being my AP magic band. I want to mark some, if not all, inactive before my upcoming trip. My question is, if I mark my AP magic band as inactive, will my tickets not automatically link to the new bands that I have coming for my June trip?

The inactive status only applies to your MB. Your APs are linked to your MDE account. Your new MagicBands for your upcoming trip will also be linked to your MDE account and will provide the link to your APs.

Is there a reason you want to deactivate the MBs? They will always remain linked to your MDE account.

Everything links to a person in the MDE account, active inactive bands has no impact on tickets being linked to a person. Any active band or card linked to the person will work for everything linked to the person.

easier answer, nothing to worry about inactive all or some and you'll be fine.

Thank you! I was told last year that if I have more than 7 magic bands active, which I do, it can cause glitches in the system when I return with new magic bands. I have been declining them, but I would like to get the purple band now

Honestly, they have no idea how many bands are too many. There are a lot of numbers tossed around but I'm not certain that anyone truly knows the number. I have about 20 myself. Though I use my custom band more than anything. It's not an issue
