Question about changing dining on ship

Hi everyone! My family has a cruise booked that sails in just under 3 weeks and we are currently assigned second seating for dining. We would prefer to have main seating and are on the waiting list, but I know that there is the option, if we don't get changed before sailing, to go on board and ask there. We're on the Wish so I believe I saw somewhere that it's in Luna at around 1pm.

My question is what has been other's experience doing this and how early would you recommend getting there? We're staying in WDW beforehand and taking DCL transportation, boarding group 7 with a PAT of 11:45am, so it's safe to assume that we'll be there before the 1pm. Also, if I'm trying to get 2 staterooms changed, our reservations are connected under my account, would someone from the second stateroom have to be there as well? I guess I'm also concerned because we're a large group of 10, so I'm not sure if attempting to change it when we board would work or if the restaurants on board would have the capacity pretty much day of.

If your reservations are connected, you'll be moved together. We had connected reservations with our friends and they asked for early dining which I was unaware of. I was checking my reservation for some reason and suddenly saw that we had early dining and initially thought it was an error until I realized that she'd asked for it. Connected reservations are, I believe, always placed at the same table (I guess unless you ask specifically not to?)

I think on the Wish, Dining Changes starts at 1pm in Luna (at least that's how it was in April). I got there right before 1pm, and there was a small line of people already waiting. So you might want to show up a little early to get in line if you want to up your chances of getting switched.

Check the app too once you get to port, just in case there's a change in where Dining Changes would be (should be Luna, but is always subject to change).

This past week on the Wish I lined up at 12:30 and there were a few other families already there. By 1:00 there were around 25 families in line.
