Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

Good morning. It is 44 here now with temps heading into the low 60s today. Cool today. It will warm up over the weekend. Kenny's kids will be here for a couple of hours this morning. Kenny and his fiancee are looking at a wedding venue this morning. The kids are off school today. Then I may walk at the park where the kids play soccer. There is a nice paved walking area that is out in the open which I feel is safer than some of the wooded areas around. See how it goes.

Have a good day.

Another hot, close to 90* day in Memphis. I’m ready for fall. Our oldest flew home today to surprise her brother. He is completing his vigil ceremony for BSA Order of the Arrow this weekend. As Vigil member she is his surprise guide.

For a brief period this weekend we’ll have all 4 kids together. Our other daughter who is also away at college, is coming to the scouting event too. 💙

Just a quick hello.

Came back from Disney World late Tuesday night. Had a good trip although my friend wound up with a sinus infection and wasn't feeling great the whole trip. Still managed to have fun despite that and RAIN! Planning a return trip in march to research butterfly and pollinator plants.

Today I had to take my parent's dog to be put down. Gretal lived a long life and was 16 1/2, but that time came to say good-bye and send her to the rainbow bridge to be with the other pets and wait for my dad to meet her. Mom still feels maybe she should have waited but I reassured her the vet said she did the right thing. Gretal was blind, falling down stairs and getting into weird hiding places that she couldn't get out of. I think mom knew in her head it was time, but her heart wasn't sure. Gretal crossed over in the same blanket she was brought home in as a puppy and I stayed with her stroking her head and talking to her until the end. I cried like a baby the whole morning and she wasn't even my dog. I told mom just think of all the fun times we had with her. I think I will miss her most at family gatherings where she sat under the dining room table whining until Dad dropped her food. Mom would get angry because she didn't want her to have table food, so dad would look and make sure mom wasn't paying attention and would drop something down. She is already telling him the new puppy will NOT be fed table food. Dad keeps trying anyway.

Good night all, off to bed to read myself to sleep

Tazdev Sorry about Greta. It sounds like she was well loved and is now waiting at the Rainbow bridge. Glad you had a nice Disney trip in spite of the rain.

Lynn Have fun and enjoy every moment in Hawaii.

Flyingdumbo127 Thinking of you and hoping all is going as well as possible.

Good morning. It is 42 here now. Temps are heading to around 70. I did turn on the heat for the first time this year just to take off the chill. Tonight I am going out to dinner with Kenny and family to celebrate his birthday which is tomorrow. He is going to be 40! He and his fiancee went to see a wedding venue yesterday and liked it. I have seen it before and not really a fan but not my wedding. It really is not child friendly and they will be having quite a few kids attending. Next weekend they go to look at the second venue they are interested in. I think it is a better fit for them and the guests but again, not saying much as it their decision. And I found out they may set the date for the Saturday I planned to be in Disney. Oh well, I hope I can change the date as it is a bounceback offer discount. If not there will be other discounts.

Have a good day.

Welcome, Ranger Pooh. Spending time with family is such a blessing.

Big hug dear Taz. I am also so sorry about Greta. I believe she is restored and forever at peace. She's still with you all.

Thank you always dear Snowysmom. Happy Birthday to Kenny. God shined a bright ray of renewed hope yesterday for me. I believe today will truly be special.

Love to all, always.

Happy Belated Birthday, Lynn! I can’t think of a better way for you to spend it! Glad you’re having a good time.

And Happy Birthday to Kenny, Snowysmom! Wow to an upcoming wedding! I booked a bounce back recently and they assured me the dates can be changed with the code that was entered in during booking. I hope you’re hanging in there.

I think mom knew in her head it was time, but her heart wasn't sure.
Isn’t that always the way? Sorry to hear of your family’s loss. It sounds like things went as well as they could.

Mona are you making plans to spring that place soon?

Had a good radiation planning appt. They gave me a lovely cover up to wear when I’m there that a fellow survivor designed and distributed. Visited with a friend who’s going through chemo for lymphoma yesterday, she had a rough go of it last weekend. I got her a nice shawl to wear to treatments and I ordered a bracelet with a cross on it for her which hasn’t come yet. (She’d gotten me the most beautiful bracelet the first time I went through treatment and I always treasured it.) I’ve also had two others close to me recently diagnosed with uterine cancers. Both have good prognoses and will undergo surgery for hysterectomy soon. (And despite that, one of them sent me beautiful fall flowers recently! 🥺)

Today I made a lot of phone calls that needed to be made. By the time I finished my stomach was in knots and I had to hang out in the bathroom for a while. I sometimes find dealing with necessary details harder than going through treatment. Tonight DH made a chicken and stuffing casserole with some leftover chicken, it was pretty good. Chicken cut up and combined with two cans of cream of chicken soup and mixed vegetables, layered with some leftover mashed potatoes we had and topped with stove top stuffing and baked. It was pretty good, we had it with cranberry sauce. I also discovered Chobani makes a caramel yogurt I’ve been having one at night to curb my sweet tooth and it’s so good! They also make an orange one that tastes like a creamsicle and a strawberry shortcake one. DH likes those but I like the caramel!

Enjoy the weekend everyone! 🐥

Pea Thoughts and prayers for you. And for your friends too. I hope you can find some time to relax and recharge a bit. The chicken and stuffing dish sounds delicious as well as the Chobani caramel yogurt. I love anything caramel so will have to look for it. Thank you for the info for the bounceback offer. I may need to change the dates to the week before.

Good morning. It is 50 here now with temps heading to 80. It is hard to know how to dress. I wear long pants in the early am for my walk and then may change to shorts later. We had Kenny's birthday dinner at a hibachi place nearby. His birthday is really today. They love it but it is so noisy in there it makes me crazy. As a true introvert I needed to get back to the condo and rest after so much noise. I got Kenny a couple of 40 themed gifts, a coffee mug and a t shirt. The people at his work put up decorations in his office with forty all over the place. At a staff meeting all the other participants were older than him so they were not sympathetic about 40. I did tell him he is 39 until 3:50 pm today. LOL! Today I am going to Jeff's for breakfast. He makes these wonderful Belgian waffles and each one probably has half a stick of butter. Salad for the rest of the day after that but they are so good. I am bringing cut fruit so it can even out. Then this afternoon I am going to Ethan's soccer game. Tomorrow will be an alone day so I will need to keep busy. This time of year and until the holidays are done is tough for me and add in the mammogram issue and my emotions are all over the place. Chris and I usually went to North Conway for a few days in October and it was my favorite trip of the year. I miss those trips. I may try to go next year with my NH friend. I told her I would stop by and pick her up for a getaway. She is right off the highway!

Have a good Saturday.

Extra love and prayers dear Pea abd dear Snowysmom. Too you, too dear Taz and thinking of you dear Dazed and Dear Frog and dear AuntieMe3.

Thank you all always for your prayers and concern. I will know much more come Monday when I may be coming home and also when our floors will get done. I need to get a crucial care answer first. I am praying to get here what will make a recovery altering difference to me. Finding that out by Monday afternoon will help guide my decision. Update to come. Prayers extra appreciated.
