I never had a special station for Cartoons. I loved them all and still do! Keeping in mind my age (77) it may seem strange that I would still watch cartoons, but I do. Me TV has a large number and a special channel that is 100% cartoons. This is the observation that surprised me because even though I watch them it was a closeted thing. Recently I noticed that almost all the advertisements are directed at middle age and above targets. Items like Social Security, Testosterone enhancers, end of life insurance plans and incontinence supplies and places for Mom. As I sit here typing this I cannot think of a single ad zeroing in on kids. As a kid, I can remember ad after ad about Mattel products and every toy imaginable looking for a future child owner. Do kids not like cartoons anymore and only those older than dirt enjoy them?

I think I watched Scooby Doo, definitely Captain Kangaroo (not a cartoon though). Kids were a mixed bag

My DS watched a lot of PBS - Arthur, Little Bear, Thomas the Tank Engine.

Older DD watched the Big Comfy Couch. Younger DD watched Blues Clues.

I remember at least one of our kids watching Rugrats. Also Kim Possible, Phineas & Ferb, Fairly Oddparents

Throw me in with the old folks... ABC, NBC, and CBS were the options, and Saturday morning cartoons were all the rage! When DD was little she watched PBS cartoons 95% of the time, rarely Nickelodeon. Also Disney movies on video tape.

I was a kid in the 70s when local independent TV stations would show blocks of older cartoon shorts. Looney Toons, Merrie Melodies, Popeye, Tom & Jerry, etc. Along with syndicated reruns of older Saturday morning cartoons.

Of the list only Disney Channel and Nick existed back in the 80s.

We eagerly waited for Saturday morning cartoons and NBC and ABC. Sunday you got 4 hrs of old Hannah Barberra cartoons on USA.

That is… unless USA Sports (which is coming back next year) had a live sporting event on the west coast…

When I was a little girl I LOVED Saturday Morning cartoons and I would watch Garfield and Friends and my favorite cartoon was Jem And The Holograms and every day when I would get home from school I watched Jem And The Holograms reruns every afternoon and then I adored Pee-Wee's Playhouse and I would giggle giggle and giggle at each episode. Then as the 90's began I loved Bobby's World and was into Mighty Morphin Power Rangers a lot. But back in the 80's that's when cartoons began to really take off because they were actually really good like The Smurfs which was also a favorite of my mother and me and when it came to cartoons CBS and ABC ruled Saturday Mornings but I think NBC was the weakest link in cartoons because they had classics like Camp Candy with John Candy and Gravedale High with Rick Moranis but when they got rid of their entire cartoon lineup and replaced it with a Saturday edition of the Today show it hurt NBC a lot because they seemed to make money from cartoons but then they changed their image and focused on teens with the teen oriented lineup TNBC. But ABC and CBS had competition when FOX launched cartoons and with NBC no longer showing cartoons FOX was the new replacement. But there was so many great cartoons like Silver Hawks He-Man She-Ra The Shirt Tales Care Bears My Little Pony And Friends and The Get Along Gang that today's cartoons just can't compare to 80's classics like these cartoons
