Good morning. It is 64 here today with temps heading to 80. I hope to get to the lake to walk. I am getting ready to sail. I got an email yesterday from Holland America asking me if I want to reschedule the cruise to August and they would give incentives to do so. They must have overbooked. No way! I need this time away. I figured the ship would be full. I read on Cruise critic that Holland does this alot and they do get enough people to change. My friend and I were talking about about the trip yesterday and both agree that other than our scheduled shore excursions and meal times, we are winging it. No plans, just figure out what we want to do as we go along. Now we just need to get parking spaces at Logan Express. Today is Ellie's big 10 birthday.

Friends, including my sister, are coming for breakfast. We’ll have bagels and fixings. Today I see my oncologist, surgeon. It’s 15 1/2 weeks since my surgery, and I feel so much better!! Yesterday I went for occupational therapy, and I have exercises to help my shoulder and hand regarding the nerve pain and hand function. I will be seeing Greg, my therapist, about 4 times. After I finish, I will schedule PT for balance.

Tomorrow we head to Dayton OH with Gus’s cremains. We have plans to see friends, including going to Mass at our old parish. We will stop one night along the way. It has been many years since we can drive straight through.

Phillies won yesterday, they had beef fading, so glad for the win!

Sitting in a garage in Boston awaiting a medical appt. I hate these early ones. Barely slept, then had to shower and leave the house by 5:15 in order to avoid the worst traffic and make it on time.

I have a surgery date for next month. A little nervous. Made my decisions now waiting and trying to recover from chemo. Still very fatigued with GI issues. Can’t wait for hair to start growing again but I did manage to preserve some of it. Was a big job.

Glad to hear everyone’s news.

PollyannaMom How is your Dad doing?

Somewhat better, thanks. DS and I just got back from a quick visit and it was nice to see him a little mobile! He is using a wheelchair on his own and working on walking at PT. He moves from the hospital-like rehab to a more comfortable assisted living facility on Monday, and I'm hoping he ends up loving it, as he really should not be living alone.

Dad was transferred to rehab yesterday. Now the hard work begins. It wasn't my mom's first choice but I checked out the facilities website and it looks like a nice place but it appears to be a smaller facility dedicated to rehab.

The appliances are in and I'm honestly nervous about using them. The drain tube for the washer goes into an approximately 3 foot pvc pipe that goes into the drain. I always the washer drain into a wash tub. Jay says it is fine but I worry about it backing up and flooding. Touch ups on paint and trim this week. Next week the final dumpster and we get everything in place for the Barbecue to celebrate the work, show it off and my mom's birthday.

Now to hope we still go to Lancaster tomorrow. Have a nice day

Good morning. Sunny and heading for 94 today. The ac went on yesterday as soon as I got home and is staying on until it starts cooling down tomorrow. Slight chance of rain tomorrow, and then right through Monday with higher chances. I just had to water everything as it got very warm yesterday.

I got errands done yesterday and got home by 10:30. They were paving the Walmart parking lot (total remodel of everything, inside, outside, parking lot, even the little drive through for the pharmacy. Then I went the long way home through town, and they were repaving the main road and I came home with the smell of asphalt in my head, ick.

Summer is upset with me. I had gotten home and was putting groceries away when she texted and said she was leaving her house in 10 min. I asked where she was going, she said shopping with you. I told her last week that when it's going to be 85 or higher, I go to the stores early to beat the heat. As I get older, I find it bothers me more. She hasn't texted or called in week, and it wasn't on me to tell her once again that I was going early. I told her that I had already gone and was home and wasn't going out again. Her last text said 'Rude' and that was the end of it. I don't base my schedule on her, so that's not on me. She hasn't needed help, so I don't hear from her at all.

Lily did get the job where Don used to work before he passed and she starts training next Tuesday. I hope she realizes that the job isn't going to be anything like she expects. It's going to be a huge life lesson, that's for sure.

@tazdev3225 My washer drains like that and I have never (knock on wood) have had any problems with backing up or overflowing in almost 25 years. You should be fine.

Just a hug dear Lynn. Please take care and keep cool. I would still love some of your warmer weather. You are very smart to shop early in general and especially in hot weather. My grandma when she lived in Houston did the same thing. Dad and I prefer to shop early now. Reminder we all care and are here for you

Taz Like Lynn I too have the washer drain like that now and in my previous house. It seems to be the way now.

Lynn Getting out early when it is hot is a good idea. Summer knows that so she can plan ahead next time.

I use my laundry tub to pre wash dog's bed. I toss it in the tub when I'm washing other stuff and then move it to the washer. Dog beds for an old dog can get stinky. IE accidents and on purposes when he doesn't want to even move to go out. He's getting older and showing it.

Good morning. It is 58 here now with temps heading to the 70s. Today is getting ready for trip day. I have already been doing some things. I bought a new cross body bag with RFID protection and transferred my stuff to it. I have my carry on packed and now just need to add the clothes I am bringing to the suitcase. I am trying not to overpack. LOL! The temps in Canada will be between 65 and 70 during the day. I get back the 21st. Kenny has asked me to stay at his house that night to take care of his dog while he goes on a campout with the kids with scouts. So I go from the cruise, to the condo to unpack from the cruise, to Kenny's house. The timing isn't great but I like to be able to help him out when I can. It is only one night.

Off to work. Getting ready for vacay there as well. I can't get ready for the mess I will come back to so I won't worry about it. I work so many hours each day and I can only do so much.

I won't be on while on the cruise so I hope everyone has a good week.

Neither do I. I've never worried about the washer not draining properly, but a laundry sink is something I'd put in if I was designing my own house, only because I'd like it for pre-treating stuff.

Thanks everyone for the reassurance. I never used the pipe when it was put in as I had the laundry tub. It's been 20 years at the laundromat or my daughters house for laundry so i am a little nervous.

I am feeling a little down today. Its the 23rd anniversary of my Grandmothers death and it always hits me hard. I miss her so much some days and hope she knows how much I loved her. She did live a long life passing just shy of her 95th birthday. Even her birthday is hard as we always celebrated them together. I was born 2 days after her birthday. I just hope I have been a 10th the grandmom she was to me as I am to my own grandkids.

I was supposed to head to Lancaster today with my mom and our priests wife and daughters. Unfortunately the priests wife was up all night with a stomach ailment. In a way it was a blessing in disguise. Mom is worried about my dad because he had a really rough day yesterday. He was in so much pain he didn't touch his dinner. We'll go one day next week so mom can be with dad today.
