Apparently the lady at the Urgent Care said it's been going around, and they've seen a lot of cases lately! He probably got it at a Lodge thing, as there's always a lot of hand-shaking, and usually food.
Interesting! We’ve seen some cases of rhinovirus (common cold), but not influenza. Of course, I’m sure the next shift I work I will see one!

Happy Anniversary @tazdev3225 Jim will love your dinner!

I called it when I said last week that my SIL's car did NOT have a hiccup. She went to leave home this morning and the engine light was on and a warning about a power train failure. She drove to the dealer with the car barely accelerating at all, and sat there for an hour waiting for the master mechanic to check it. He found the issue, they need a new high pressure fuel pump. It has to be ordered so they are giving her a loaner. I'd like to know why a truck that's only a few months old already needs a new high pressure fuel pump, and why the diagnostic test last week didn't show that. This could have happened Thursday when they have to go to Morgantown, and it would have not made it on the highway.

I mowed the lawn this morning before it got too warm, and took the trash down, and that's it for me today.

Have a nice rest of the day

That's enough to have done in the heat, Lynn:hug:Glad you are resting now. 🙏SIL and her ongoing car trouble, that really is awful. I truly hope the dealership does the right thing and at this point I think that could be starting her fresh! :car:

Dad, thanks to God, is long home. :cheer2:He is staying home tomorrow, too. Thursday morning is my dentist appointment. I do look forward to seeing Glenda again beforehand briefly. All good here. May each of you have a great rest of the day. :flower2:

H finally went to the urgent care...because he woke up with pink eye, only to find that his "cold" was actually the flu! (He never suspected because he wasn't running a fever.) But he's on much better medicine now, and hopefully on the mend for real this time.
Glad he's on the mend. We've had a few guys come back from long weekends & /or vacations and come down sick with what they thought was a cold. Guess it's going around, as these things do.
Im ready for a vacation
You & me both! I'm actually looking forward to a work trip next month because it's simply a moment to get away!
This condo was supposed to be place where I could find some calm and peace and maybe move forward a bit.
I hope it still can be, hopefully everything will work out and you'll be very comfortable there.
Otherwise, maybe a in-law suite is something to think about? We have one - my folks love it when they come up to visit, it's worked out really well.
Today is my 42nd anniversary
Happy Anniversary!:rose::flower2:party: Enjoy the french onion soup & veal or chicken parm tonight. Both are really good! Our 30th is next month, but we don't have much planned...although now that you mention it, french onion soup sounds good!
I'd like to know why a truck that's only a few months old already needs a new high pressure fuel pump, and why the diagnostic test last week didn't show that.
Who knows - at least they are fixing it and giving her a loaner. We bought a Ranger (UTV, not the truck) brand new a few years ago, got it home, it ran for one day then it was dead in the water. Turns out the entire transmission went. We went round and round for a day w/ dealer and demanded a brand new one. They wouldn't give us one...we went back and forth , long story short it wasn't until I wrote a letter to the dealership manager and FEDEXed it to him, as well as the manager of the entire dealership (a few locations), the owner of the dealership (at his home AND his office), the finance company and the MD attorney general. By that time we had been fighting with them to replace it for 2 weeks...Well THAT lit a fire under them real quick and a day later they delivered a new one to us. So I guess it happens, but it sure is a pain in the *** to deal with, especially when you have to twist arms to get them to deal straight with you. Glad they are taking care of her.

Well, it is absolutely beautiful outside here. I keep walking outside, it's warm and sunny with a slight breeze but the humidity is low. I think tomorrow is supposed to be similar. Then the chances of rain/humidity start back up. Not going to complain about the rain - we got almost 3" on Sunday!- since it's keeping my grass from being brown and dyeing back at the moment. Everything around us is so nice & green at the moment.

Not entirely sure what dinner will be tonight. BLT's if I remember to grab some bread on the way home. We made some crab dip egg rolls the other night and I was very pleased with how they turned out. If not BLT's then maybe some fish w/ salad. Need something simple since we are planning on doing some work outside after we get home this afternoon. Dang it - now I'm craving chicken parm, thanks Tav!

Ooh, a BLT sounds so good right about now! 🤔 I’m hungry. Busy day cleaning, doing laundry, towels, clothes, packing, sorting, paid some bills, emptied all trash cans, watered plants, vacuumed, straightened up, etc. I was so sweaty, even w the AC, that I had to jump in the shower! (I don’t go in the pool when home alone, and I don’t want anyone else to, but they still do sometimes.) A dip would’ve been perfect tho. It’s hot here - 86 but feels warmer. Maybe it’s just the sun and I’m not used to it, it’s been so overcast.

Have you guys seen the footage from NY and VT of the floods? One lady went after her dog in the swollen river and got swept away, she didn’t make it. I think the dog did, but so sad! 😭

(QOTD: Would you go after the dog or cat? I think I would. I know my DH and kids would.)

Well I got mostly everything done that I wanted to do but I still have to do some work leftover from my meeting yest. DD just got home from doing her clinical hours for school, she is laying down for a bit. DH had to travel for work today still waiting for him. DS coached a clinic this morning, ran in and took a shower, then ran out to work afternoon shift.

Toto spotted my suitcase (actually an overnight-type Disney bag, I’m packing light) up on the bed and gave me the sad look! He is nervous now. Grad still has no clue. He’ll learn, lol. They’ll be fine in the kennel. DD was debating on what to do with her hamster but we think he’ll be fine right in his house. Just a few days ago she bought him a 50 gallon aquarium so he has more space now to run around. DH made a top for it. I will have to leave the AC on for “the rat” (as DH loving calls him) while we travel to NH, which seems kind of funny. 🤭

Last night I watched the three part series on Netflix about Arnold Schwarzenneger. I enjoyed it. Has anyone else seen it? It was a little bittersweet. He’s had such a charmed life in so many areas, but the affair he had which produced a son, which everyone found out about when the child was in his teens, tore his family apart. In a big way. And changed his life forever, really. But he loves the child and is close with him now, which I have to give him credit for. I got a little choked up hearing him talk about it. His kids from his marriage won’t really acknowledge the child even though they knew him growing up (it was their housekeeper’s son 😵‍💫). I’m not a huge fan of Hollywood celebrities. But something about him I can tolerate. I think he comes from meager roots and everything he earned here, he got through really hard work. I like that about a person. Anyway, if you haven’t seen it, it’s interesting!

Dinner came off ok except Jim froze the soup. I dropped it off while running errands and asked him to put it in the fridge. He was happy though.

And the dinner.

Not quite the restaurant but not bad and enough of all for another dinner

Please share the recipe when you have time, they sound yummy!
Ok - but it's not a recipe per se, just "how I do it"
So, to start, how I make my crab dip:

1 lb. of crab meat - lump if you have it, backfin will do if it's all you can get ahold of(fresh preferably, or thawed frozen but not pasteurized/canned stuff)
2 blocks of cream cheese
Old Bay or JO, whatever you have in the pantry...we have both!
dash/splash? of 1/2 & 1/2 (optional)
splash of champagne or white wine (optional)

If you remember ahead of time, take cream cheese out and let it thaw a bit on counter, if you forget forge ahead as follows...dump both blocks of cream cheese in a sauce pan and put on very low heat, gently stirring with a wooden spoon or your preferred tool till it's creamy and smooth. If you are adding your 1/2 & 1/2 and/or wine add it now and Add your Old Bay. Ok - so I don't know how much I add. I eyeball it. Stir that in. Give your crab meat a bit of a rinse, and spritz w/ some lemon juice if you have any. Toss that into the cream cheese mixture and gently stir. At this point you can taste it and decide if you want more Old Bay in there.
***at this point you have crab dip, at this point if I'm doing dip I put it in a crock dish and sprinkle with Old Bay and bake till bubbly. I don't fool with cheese on top or anything along those lines. ***

so I let it cool a bit on the stove. I bought some egg roll wrappers and get them out. I probably do a healthy dollop of about 2 T??? in wrapper. Wrap up and stack on plate or cookie sheet. Once that is done I stick them in the freezer to firm up and/or store them in the freezer at this point. Once I am ready to cook I sauté or air fry in convection oven turning once in a while till done.

I've also done similar with a jalapeno popper dip filling, shrimp dip filling, chili cheese dog filling once for the kids at Superbowl. I think that a combo jalapeno popper dip & soft shell crab filling would be great! Honestly - I think there is a ton you can do with this, sweet or savory.
Ooh, a BLT sounds so good right about now!
Doesn't it?!?!?! To bad I forgot to stop for bread:tongue: So we are having bacon & eggs instead. My husband is actually over at the eldest who had a issue with a snake, his breaker box and the control box of his well pump! Ick! So when he comes home from helping him we will eat a late supper together.
(QOTD: Would you go after the dog or cat? I think I would. I know my DH and kids would.
My head tells me I shouldn't, my heart tells me I'd be hard pressed to see my pups swept away without attempting do help. This is the type of thing I preach to people NOT to do, yet in my heart of hearts I'm not sure I wouldn't.
Not quite the restaurant but not bad and enough of all for another dinner
That looks good. Really good! My folks are flying in a week from tomorrow and I always make dinner for them & us the night they come in...now I'm seriously thinking about some chicken parm for dinner that night!

QOTD: Would you go after the dog or cat?

I sure would!

Enjoy the :sunny:Easyas!

Pea, continuing 🙏to you for safe travels. I also amnot into celebrities. Always a blessing to hear of one (any person) who chooses the kind and right thing to do for their family.

:hug:Taz, better meals to come!

Lynn, I love your reply. Thank you! :dogdance:🐈

All quiet here. No💌even yet.

Are any of you going to watch the All-Star Game ⚾tonight? Dad probably will in part. I hope, of course, those of you who do watch enjoy.

Should I not come back later, to go with today's QOTD :)

QOTD I would absolutely go after the dog or cat. I would not be able to just let them go.

@lynxstch I hope your SIL gets what she needs with her car issues. It is crazy that she needs a big fix already.

@Pea-n-Me Poor Toto. Doggies do understand. My dogs would always get sad and anxious when the suitcases came out. We packed after we dropped off Jasper at the kennel.

@tazdev3225 Your dinner looks really good.

@flyingdumbo127 Good luck at the dentist tomorrow. I hope it goes well for you.

It is sunny again today, warm day expected. Last night the kids did T ball. Or rather, they played when they wanted to and I got to chase them around when they didn't. Kenny is a coach and had to stay with the other kids.

I talked with my agent yesterday. She said there really isn't anything to say right now until the conservation comm meets tonight. Thursday we are touching base again. She said she may go over today to take a look. I told her my concerns. She says I have a one year warranty and they have to fix the issue. The attorney is asking for 2 years on the water issue. My agent really thinks the issue is all due to landscaping issues since right now there is nothing planted and we have been getting heavy rains. I suspect I am not going to get what I want and my only option other than closing on it and keeping up on the water issues is to forfeit my deposit. I really can't afford to do that. The living area in the condo is very nice. I have shelving units for the basement for storage to get things up off the floor. My dining room table and chairs as well as a coffee table I will store in the garage. I may donate the dining room table and chairs as I probably won't use them again. It is not a super expensive set, more like a day to day set.

Off to work. Have a good day.

Happy Hump Day!🐪

Sunny and extremely hot again today :sunny:. No walking today, by the time I get home from work that will be the peak of the hot temperatures.🥵

Made some chicken tenders in the oven and some season cauliflower in the air fryer last night. Turned out much better than I was expecting.👍

I didn't watch the All-Star game. The Reds are in 1st place and we only had 1 pitcher that made the team so there really wasn't any draw for me to watch it. I did hear that the National League won so that's good.👏

QOTD: no question, yes I would save my animals.😼:dog:

Did anyone make any Amazon Prime Day purchases? I bought a small blender type thing to make smoothies in. My big blender broke and I don't think I needed something big like a traditional blender so this if just for smoothies and crushing ice. Fingers crossed it works.🤞

That's it for me, bosses just got here so I guess I should start doing something productive. Have a great day!

Did anyone make any Amazon Prime Day purchases?
I have been holding off on a few things to see if deals popped up on them yesterday, and I got two things on sale! - a garden item and some phone cord adapters.

I held off on one or two things I really don't need unless I find them at a great price.

And I still bought two other things because I do need them, sale or not - coffee pods and a new hand veggie chopper (to replace one that broke).

I order from Amazon all the time, but I had a few smallish things in my cart and just pulled the trigger. There was one jacket I’ve been eying for some time now but I couldn’t decide on the size. Decided to just order two with the plan to return one. Amazon makes returns so easy. I have to sort through my “Save for Later” bin and delete some things. With the renovation I had so much stuff in there - pillows and lights, etc. Don’t want to look at them anymore! I am rather upset with EBay - again (right, Lynn?) Ugh! Normally I have pretty good luck with them but I bought something that never came when it should have. Seller only did something when I contacted EBay itself, now the seller has blocked me (lol) and I don’t know whether I’m going to ever receive the item or not. So irritating! it’s really hit or miss w EBay. But sometimes that’s the best place to find something you can’t normally find. On work stretch.

Have a good Wednesday! 🐥

Good Morning🐣:sunny:

Two weeks from today, God willing dad and I will be visting Sue very briefly to wish her a :bday:100! We're both looking forward to doing that. What a blessing that will be, too.

This morning we're going to use the last of our chocolate chips to bake cookies to bring mostly to church tomorrow on our way to my dentist appointment. They can be in part an early birthday treat for Glenda and some other friends to enjoy too. Waiting for Sandro to deliver Sparkletts. Quiet morning :)

Thank you🦷 so much Snowysmom. 🕊️dear friend and continuing new home prayers.

Footballmouse, Dad was also glad that the National League finally won⚾

Pea, I have done the same thing with ordering or pre pandemic sometimes in store buying, clothing in 2 different sizes with the intent of keeping one. I hope you like your new 🧥and that it keeps you cozy and healthy :)

PollyannaMom, I'm glad you were also able to get some Prime Day deals 🛍️🖥️ We haven't got anything yet. We do have Amazon Coinstar credit to use so we will look at Amazon later this morning. 🍪are more important first!

Have a Happy Day everyone:grouphug:

I made a couple of purchases on Prime Day. Kenny wanted a new radon meter that he could connect to his wireless network. I will get the old one that still works perfectly fine. The sale price was a good deal. I also got a radon test for the new condo and I saved a little but I need that anyway. I will take one more browse through this afternoon. I never think of ordering clothes there but I should. The returns are easy.

We gave up on them after DH's account was hacked! (Nobody had his financial info, but they were using his profile to try to sell things from a country that didn't have access.) We got it straightened out, but didn't trust eBay after that.

That’s awful @PollyannaMom! Sketchy!

I’ve started buying some clothing on Amazon. I like their Amazon brand jeggings (I guess you call them - jeans/leggings), very comft and held up well. Of course undergarments. Pajamas. I bought a couple of boho dresses there this summer that I love. And some tops, most recently a sweatshirt but I bought some Disney Christmas items for our trip last yr, men’s and women’s. The jacket is a long denim coat. I wasn’t sure I’d wear it, but I love it, so I likely will. I thought they might run a little big, so I was torn about ordering. But the price went down and it still popped up for me, so I said, why not. I think it will be nice for the fall. With my boots, lol. I have one more shirt I have to check on, for fall, to see if the price went down. Have had that in my cart for a year!

🍪baked and tasted. Yum! Wish all of you lived closer to enjoy some with. God willing one day, we will :) No Sandro yet. Dad and I are sure counting on him to come. Usually a later delivery means it's a substitute because Sandro is off. Meantime, we're doing some online browsing on Walmart and Amazon.

:hug:Snowysom, until Covid, I sure never thought about ordering clothes online especially on Amazon. I'm happy with Amazon bought pajama pants and cozy slippers if you or anyone else ever would like a recommendation on either items. Dad especially prefers trying Amazon clothing, although that has been very much hit or miss with sadly much more, "miss," because usually a return can be dropped off for free, no packaging needed, at a UPS Store near our neighborhood Target. We've also gotten clothes online from Walmart and Old Navy. Glad you were able to also do some needed Prime Day shopping.

:hug:PollyannaMom and how awful that your husband's Ebay account was hacked. I am, of course, so grateful no financial information of yours was stolen. I only briefly used Ebay in the 90s. I gave up on the site when money orders as payment was no longer an option, I still today have no interest in Pay Pal. The other issue I had was never being paid for a VHS tape I sold. I do know a couple people that do still use Ebay. Glad, of course, it works for them.

:hug:Pea, smart🖥️🛍️Amazon sure does constantly change their prices!

:hug:Lynn, who so far as been awol this morning. Prayers, you and Don are okay, my friend. Thinking of ypu.
