Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

Sorry about the heat, Lynn. I do hope you are relaxing this afternoon at long last.

Judique, love the idea of deer but of course am sorry they are eating your 🫐Lynn, sorry you have also had berry eating animal trouble. You're both doing a kind meal service, though. Just again please stay safe from wild critters, all of dear you!

Good morning. Another dreary rainy morning. We need the sun. We got some downpours yesterday afternoon. I went to Target to see if they had anything for the condo and they were useless. I am finding that store increasingly useless. I did order a curtain rod with birds on the ends and some butterfly valances for my dining area. I need to find a round rug to put under my kitchen table.

Off to work. Busy week at work. Have a good day.

So nice, @PollyannaMom! Is your son into anime? DD’s college had some of her art classes there. She’s been saying we should go.

Not a big Target fan myself, @Snowysmom. DD likes it more. Have you tried stores like Big Lots and Ollies? They have a lot of rugs. Some of the pricier home stores do, too, of course. 😕 Give Amazon a look, too. I bought so much stuff from Amazon (even a rug!) we were getting quite a few packages almost daily! As long as you have measurements it’s easy, but their returns are easy, too.

Ugh to coyote talk. That’s sad, Mona. Likewise, a friend of mine heard noise in her yard and went out to see her favorite cat being carried off by a coyote. 😭 At this point I seriously doubt one could pick up Toto (he’s gotten a little chunky, lol, since Grady’s come, I think he steals his food), but it does always worry me having a smaller dog.

My SIL sent me pics and video of a deer eating in her yard yesterday, just in the brush.

Today feels a little sad with everyone going back to work. Someone actually offered to switch with me and I’d pick up a day later in the week but I decided to just go in. My relative who just retired is in seventh heaven, she texted me over the weekend just to tell me! Must be nice!

Wishing everyone a nice Monday, and a nice 4th! 🐥🇺🇸 I hope everyone’s pets are all ok with the noise.

You definitely should! It's a great museum, and they have free admission days a few times a year.

DS isn't especially into anime, but he had a preschool teacher who really encouraged art, and we started going to museums (usually on a library pass) when he was really little. What prompted this visit was seeing a Lego version of that picture a while back and having commuter rail tickets that were about to expire.

Good morning. Got a storm and more rain overnight. Cloudy now, calling for a chance of storms before noon. I wanted to get the grass cut, but I don't see that happening today. Its going to be mid 80's and still humid outside, so the ac is staying on.

I also wanted to clean the living room carpet before company comes, but I don't see myself having the energy to do that and everything else that has to be done.

There have been some bobcat sightings in the next town, but none here that I have heard of. There have been a couple of bear sightings, a mama and some cubs just down the road a little ways, and there are always deer.

Have a nice day everyone

Ive had several round rugs under my 'morning coffee' table. The table is 30 inches so I've been able to get away with a 5 ft rug, one I found in a rug shop on clearance.

Probably some place like Wayfair would be easiest. I've also gotten far away from expensive rugs as they become cleaning and upkeep issues.

Good morning, everyone 😀

Had a good day yesterday. DS and I went to the MFA. ~

The special exhibit was super crowded, but had some really neat pieces.

No big plans today. I have to call and make a car appointment for later in the week.
I love that museum. It's been awhile but I've visited several times. Not sure if it's still there but I was inspired to get a copy of The Buffalo Trail by Albert Bierstadt. It's a huge one in my tiny living room but to me it sets a mood.

@Judique we were supposed to get storms all day too. They couldn't be more wrong, it's sunny and almost 90 outside. I gave up our blueberry bushes for that reason, either the birds, or the deer ate them. maybe they'll think your big blue blob is one giant blueberry, lol!

I'm planning for next year as I want to plant some more bushes. I only have 3 and 2 don't do much, but one gets loaded. I kept wondering how come so many berries were still unripe until I realized those peckers were enjoying them. I am going to salvage the old gazebo and screen it with some older mesh I have in my shed. I'm such a packrat! Meanwhile it's fine after this season until the berries set next year. They only are ripe for a couple of weeks anyway and the bird eaters don't bother with the white ones. The deer eat everything so I'll start my extreme measures first with the frame and some fence, then with the mesh to allow ripening. editing next year I will have to mulch that area so I don't have to mow around the bushes!

It was raining here for about 30 minutes so I came inside. Now the sun is out! Supposed to go to 90 all week.

Starting with Friday July 14, I'm heading over to Ocean City. I've got 3 nights but may do a 4th if I feel like it. Can't wait for some sand and salt!

And I'm officially old. I finally ordered a little round stool seat for my shower. This is so I can sit while washing my feet. I was slightly afraid of a fall even though I'm pretty stable.

Happy Monday everyone,

Dad should be calling me shortly from Ralph's to share he has finished :laundy:Grateful that once he comes home, he will be home until Wednesday morning. Early Wednesday we are planning to go to Dollar Tree and Target. Looking forward to both. Tomorrow, it will be great to wish our cousins a Happy Anniversary. I am not, especially with my TMJ, a fireworks fan at all and never have been. Prayers to all of you extra to stay safe tomorrow, especially your beloved pets!

Snowysmom, in my limited time out over the last two months, I sure have seen firsthand how stores ranging from Dollar Tree to Target no longer have the stock that they once did pre pandemic. This is an extra reason why I always pray to be of the outlook of what an extra blessing being able to find what dad and I truly do need always is. Also, a reminder, a s you well know with rising prices, to get something you need when it is available at a price you are able to pay for it. Next time, the same item, might be MUCH more expensive. I’m sorry, of course, you know I am, that Target was lacking I really like the sound of your bird curtain rod! I didn’t know it was possible to have a design on the ends of rods, how fun and cheerful🐦. Could we see a picture? Dad and I, rug wise have taken to pretty much using small bathmats when we can even find those as small kitchen rugs. Actual small rag rugs seem nonexistent these days! ITA with Pea’s Big Lots suggestion. In the old days, Kmart may have had something.

PollyannaMom, such a blessing that you and your son are able to spend extra time together. I’m so thankful, my friend. I am also not into graphic art but the museum 🖼️sounds like fun. I hope it was!

Pea, big hug to your friend, how 🐈horrible! :( Amazon and Walmart even at times, Target.com have sure been blessings to us to be able to safely order from home on! Walmart reminder, to dear you, Pea, or any kind Quacker to please do PM me if you are thinking about signing up for Walmart+They currently have a refer a friend promotion where when you (someone with Walmart+ which dad and I currently have thanks to a great deal Walmart offered us on it for a year) refer a friend who joins, each of you receive a $20 Walmart Gift Card! Definitely a win and would, of course, be handy for dad and I but more than that, as I pray all of you know, it would mean a lot to me to be able to help (in any way) one of you!

Lynn:hug:, hire someone if you are able to, (not the painter) to clean your carpet! Give your dear self a break, please! I am so glad you will soon be able to spend time with extra family. Take care and keep well especially in swampy weather—yuck!

Judique, how cool that you have been to the same museum as PollyannaMom! The two of you ought to try and meet there sometime! Have a wonderful break in Ocean City:beach: Enjoy some fresh spun pink cotton candy for me!

Have a great Monday, all. I will check back in later.

No judgement, as anybody can of course dislike anything with or without a reason...but your description really made me curious - what do fireworks have to do with your jaw?
I’m guessing jaw clenching from the noise?

Mona, I have Walmart+ already but I don’t use it. But thank you for your offer. Speaking of WM, they have gotten much better in their home goods dept, some of their items are quite nice and still affordable. Check it out if you haven’t already! They use a lot of Better Homes and Gardens products. There is much more online than there is in stores. Fortunately, our WM is nice! I wish some of these discount stores were around when we were setting up our house (in the 80s). When I think of all the money we spent, and then replaced so many things over and over. That’s one good thing about today, starting out, there are places lIke IKEA, Amazon, and other places that have really nice things (and getting better all the time) that don’t break the bank.

I love the bird curtain rod, Snowysmom! That will look really nice with your wall color. I showed DD your pictures and she loved it all. Her paint is going to be a little bit lighter, and I think she is going with gray wooden look floors, maybe vinyl tile that looks like wood. We have a lot of pets that are hard on floors. You should see what I get from the vacuum just in a short session, huge clumps of hair. And that’s after blowing and brushing it all off of Grady. Ugh. Oh, and Toto christened one of the new carpet tiles the other day when he vomited, lol. DS cleaned it, and then we took the little green clean machine to it, too. The story of our lives, but they’re worth it!

Good Evening for most of you, slipping thread save!

All quiet and good here. I got to talk with my 97-year-old friend Ruth from church who is doing well. Like Sue, Ruth, is such a kind person and inspiration, too! Otherwise, nothing new here. Looking forward to dad being home tomorrow. Wishing all of you, always a good rest of the day with sweet dreams tonight with love.

Good Morning. Happy Independence Day. Another rainy dreary day here. It looks like the afternoon may brighten up a bit.

@Pea-n-Me Your DD's decorating ideas sound nice. Doggies have a way of christening new floors. .

@flyingdumbo127 Glad your Dad can stay home today. How nice that you could talk with your friend.

I may go find the Trader Joe's that is in this area, trying to avoid route 9 for most of the ride. I really do not like that road with all the ins and outs for plazas, restaurants, etc. I went to the condo yesterday to see if they were working so I could get in again and look at the basement. No one was working and the condo was locked. At least they do lock it. I may try again tomorrow as it will be rainy again today. I also want to get an idea of where to place furniture. I will have to buy a couch for the living room. I do not like furniture shopping. Now if they could just let me know when the closing will be I can get the condo ins set up.

I would like to ask those who have gone to WDW solo where you eat or make reservations. I am looking at Ale and Compass at the Yacht Club. Is this a good place for solo dining? Are there other good places? I need to go places where Chris and I have not gone which was really very few. We didn't do much dining in the Boardwalk/Beach club area. When I do a pretend ADR I put in one person and get all these weird times. Then I put in for 2 and get more mainstream times. I will put in for 2 and just show up. Also, any other advice for traveling solo in WDW would be appreciated. My friends and family are telling me I can do this but I am anxious. I go in September.

Have a good day.

Good morning and HAPPY 4'TH OF JULY!
Very cloudy here. Everything is wet outside so it had to have rained again last night. That's getting to be the norm around here. At least I managed to mow the lawn yesterday. The sun came out long enough to dry everything out. They had said storms, but none showed up, it got up to 91. One forecast for today says storms this afternoon, the other shows no rain. I don't know what they do about fireworks in a case like that. It's going to be 83, climbing back into the 90's again tomorrow.
I can't even plan whether to grill for dinner or not until the weather makes up it's mind.
Have a great day everyone, stay safe!

Happy 4th of July, Friends,

My extra sincere :thanks:to those of you and/or your family members, who have served or are serving our country. How blessed we are to live in a free country. All is quiet around here.

Dad and I did enjoy watching the rest of A Grown-Up Christmas List last night. I loved Luke, the main male character's parents Peggy and Charlie and that both were healthy, faithful, and positive people. The same with Taylor's, Luke's eventual wife, Grandfather Frank who owned a country hardware/miscellaneous store. I do wish the movie had been more faith centered. The title's song will always remind me of a choir friend Barbara, singing it one year at church.

Dad and I are looking forward to calling our cousins to wish them a Happy Anniversary today. We are expecting a package from JC Penney. Dad got a pair of pajama pants and I got another pair of the St. John's Bay jeans I like and shorts.

I really am enjoying reading Guideposts. Yesterday, one of the stories was about a group that sends Christmas cards to troops. I emailed the author and already got a nice reply. I would love to be part of that type of community church effort. I also really loved a story a woman recounted of how as a child she was given the school assignment of drawing her family's flag. All her mom would/was able to tell her was that they all were from Georgia. The little girl decided to draw a flag of her vision of The Garden of Eden. We are all His after all! Thanks be to God :)

Snowysmom, furniture shopping is not my favorite either. I do pray to be able to afford to help dad get himself a new bed next year. I enjoy thinking about more roomy/lighter new home layouts and sometimes a few pieces of furniture such as I think a small old fashioned reddish/honey wood tone round kitchen table sounds homey. Take your time and go with your instincts.

Lynn, please do stay safe and dry. Your weather sounds TX swampy almost, yuck. Love your Patriotic Mickey picture.

Waving Good Morning right back, PollyannaMom! I love the red, white, and blue hearts. Fun and most fitting for today!

Have any of you heard from B&B lately? Thinking of her, been awhile.

Love to all. I will check back later.
