Looking forward to that, taz! Glad you had a nice trip, and sorry about your knee.

Lynn I don‘t think I’ve ever seen a pink sun like that before. Beautiful! Nice of you to share.

Snowysmom, I love the condo! (? Townhouse) It looks really beautiful so far. So exciting! And great job with the colors! It’s almost exactly the same as what DD has picked out for renovating our in law apt! It will be so nice when you’re settled in. Seems like it’s moving along.

Retirement party was fun. Lots of people. Got some nice family pictures, and always good to see everyone. Afterward DD, DH and I (DS was coaching today, was sad he wasn’t in the pictures) did some antique browsing (bought one thing, an American flag table runner for that console table in front of our TV to hide the dust, lol) and then hit the grocery store on the way home.

We were a little upset outside in the grocery store parking lot. An elderly man pulled up next to us and had a small dog he was leaving in the car. It was 85 degrees out. He had the windows halfway down. When he left the dog was trying to bark but was having problems himself, seemed elderly, too. We debated what to do. DH wound up going up to him in the store and telling him he was concerned about his dog. He kind of blew him off, saying he’d only be in the store for a few minutes and he had the windows open. DH tried to say that it can get to over 100 degrees in just a few minutes OR someone could steal the dog, but he was very hard of hearing and it didn’t seem to really sink in. He did thank DH for his concern. He was in the store for about 15 mins and got just a few things. We actually let him go in front of us at check out to get him out of the store quicker. DH told him he should leave the dog home in this kind of weather. Something tells me he won’t. I really did not want to call the police. The dog was ok. But it upset us quite a bit thinking of how many dogs lose their lives that way. (We would not have let that happen.)

Tonight we watched a couple of movies on Netflix, Murder Mystery 1 and 2. Pretty funny, we had some laughs.

Wishing everyone a good Saturday! 🐥

@TazDev Glad you had a good trip. I hope your knee feels better soon. It is hard to find a good doctor that you feel comfortable with. I got lucky with my new PCP. My boss recommended her and she is so kind, caring, and knowledgeable. I left my visit wondering where she has been all my life. The same person recommended the ortho practice my ortho doctor is part of. I researched the doctors and found one who had really good feedback regarding knee replacements. His personality is a bit like alot of surgeons, a bit sarcastic, but he answered my questions and explained everything. I do speak fluent sarcasm so I didn't mind. He did a great job with the replacements so I recommend him to friends and coworkers who need an ortho. Too bad you are not in the Boston area.

@Pea-n-Me Thank you and your DH for watching out for that dog. It makes me so angry to see dogs in cars when it is so hot out. It seems like older people like to take their pets everywhere when they go out but they need to understand that there are times when it is not safe to do so. The condo is coming along. I have all my blinds picked out and in the checkout cart at blinds.com. I want Kenny to double check the measurements I put in. Another set of eyes is helpful. I have picked out blinds in different shades of gray and a blue gray for the dining area. Blinds.com is having a July 4 sale so I am spending much less than I thought I would. Kenny will install them for me.

It is foggy here and also we do have some smoke from the wildfires so it looks very gray and misty out. Owen's party is today so I hope the weather cooperates. It looks like it should. I am looking forward to seeing Jeff and family too.

Have a good Saturday.

Good morning, welcome to July. 1/2 of the year is now gone.

Cloudy out now, calling for a chance of storms this afternoon, and temps in the low 80's I did all the weed whacking yesterday including the bank, and mowed the side of the lawn I can't do with the riding mower, and did laundry. Today will just be cleaning the bathrooms and changing the sheets.
Don't brother and sister in law who live in Pensacola, are in Maine visiting her mother. They are going to come through town on their way home this week. They are going to stop here on Thursday afternoon with my other sister and brother in law who live locally and visit for awhile. My other sister in law has a Dr appt in Morgantown that day so can't be here. It will be nice to see them, even though I've only met them maybe 6 or so times in 23 years, lol

Trying to plan meals for the weekend and holiday. We had the jumbo hot dogs from Omaha Steaks last night with fresh corn. The hot dogs were delicious! Sister in law stopped after dinner and brought us more corn, fresh peaches, heirloom tomatoes, yellow squash and green beans from the farm stand they went to. She must think there are more than 2 people living here with the amounts she brought. I took half of everything and gave it to the 'good' neighbors next door. We could never eat it all before it went bad. I did find 3 baby squash finally on one of my plants so we'll have our own squash soon.

Have a great Saturday everyone!

ChGood afternoon 🐣and Happy July! May this bright new month be one of greater:sunny:through all of your days inside at heart and in outside weather.

Pea, my heartfelt :thanks:to you and your DH for looking out for the :dogdance:You both absolutely made a kind difference to him. Praying perhaps also a life saving difference as God willing next time his owner leaves him safely at home! Glad the party yesterday was fun.

Bobbiwoz, continuing safe and fun ::MickeyMotravel 🙏to you, my friend.

Snowysom:hug:I sincerely am so extra grateful to God for His placing such kind doctors into your life, what a blessing. I would love to find such a physician out here. :bday:Owen! May he have a truly fun party that you thoroughly enjoy, too.

Lynn, dear friend:hug:, all that you, "only" had planned to do today sure sounds like MORE than enough to me! You are a dynamo that's for sure. :cheer2:for soon reuniting with extra family, that's wonderful! I'm so happy for you and Don. Prayers also that the painter did show up yesterday! Is she, I hope, finished yet?

Quiet afternoon here. Dad and I watched yesterday the final Price is Right that will be taped at CBS not far from us at all. Next season the show will be recorded in Glendale, an hour or so from here. No clue why the move happened just strange to us that it did after 50+ years! Glad it will still be on :)

Love to all, always. Have a good rest of the day.

No she didn't. When she said soon, I didn't expect it to be that soon, lol. It's debatable as to what her 'soon' means. To me it means it better be pretty darn soon!

Hug extra Lynn, sadly during this pandemic, 'soon," usually as in "I will call/email etc. you back," can mean never. To me, "soon" 3 days max! I'm sorry she still is so unreliable :(

Good evening! We had kind of a leisurely morning today. I did some medical research for a family member who’s having some health problems and was able to share that information. They were appreciative. Also planning with my SIL a little weekend geetaway later in the month up to NH at my brother’s house with my family and sibs. SIL mentioned, when I asked what I could bring, anything my mother used to make, so I will do her famous potato salad. I saw an easy recipe for chocolate covered strawberries, too, I might do some of those, as well (if I can figure out how to get them up there unspoiled). Poor dogs will have to go to the kennel again, but I think they’re ok with it knowing we come back pretty soon. Later we went to a church fair and then ran some errands, winding up at a new place that recently opened for a bite to eat. It was good. (I got a haddock sandwich.) We were going to make some chicken Greek salad pockets but we’ll make those for lunch tomorrow instead, while DS is still home before work. That’s about it. Tonight we caught up a little bit on The Crown. It’s hard trying to watch series’ with others, they fall asleep and then we have to rewatch, etc. Finally started Season 3 but only got to one episode. We’re not too happy they changed the actors around for Season 3 as we were getting to really like the original ones. Oh well, I guess these ones will grow on us, too, we know most of them already from other shows, lol. Wishing everyone a nice rest tonight and a good Sunday! 🐥

PS Almost forgot, had a little pool time today!

Up and outside super early this morning (due to a really persistent cat) but at least I got a good bird pic:

And a video (screenshot here) of this cute little bird seed thief:

DH's parents came over yesterday for a swim/lounge by the pool. We grilled some chicken and then played a round of Quiddler. (I'm pretty sure it's DH's new favorite game.)

@Pea-n-Me Great picture of Toto. He is so cute. Your NH trip should be nice. NH is always a good destination. The potato salad sounds yummy. We head to NH in 3 weeks. I assigned the kids the task of taking care of meals. I will pay for the cabin and they can figure out food. I am not up to that. I will bring my favorite snacks.

@flyingdumbo127 Glad you enjoy the Price is Right. Chris loved games shows and the really old Price is Right shows with Bill Cullen I believe were his favorites on the game show network. He also liked the current one.

@PollyannaMom Lovely bird and squirrel pictures.

The party went well. The kids were a bit crazed but anytime you get 15 or so kids together there is chaos. It was hot so I mainly stayed in the house with a few trips outside to push Charlotte on the swing or watch Sam "drive" the toy tractor. He was so happy to sit on it and grab the wheel. The cake and pizza were good.

It is a dreary rainy day out. I have no plans except to work and try to get ahead for the week. No one will be here today so that is one way to keep busy. I may go to a couple of stores. I am getting anxious about the new condo. Because I made such a mistake with the first one and because living alone is not something I can do well my mind is just whirling with the whole thing. I read something in an article that helps me a bit: "When life is hard, when things sadden you, feel what you need to feel without feeling guilty. Let go of these when you are ready to do so." Also when I think of my therapist telling me I am now a different person after losing Chris, I know I am not and do not want to be. I saw this quote: " The journey isn't about becoming a different person, it is about loving who you are. " I need to know I am the same person I worked so hard to become. Chris said he liked the person I became in my 50s, less shy and quiet, more assertive (not much) and a bit more outgoing. I will not change the new me.

Have a nice Sunday.

Good morning. Cloudy again, calling for more storms. We had torrential downpours yesterday, then the sun would come out. Then more rain, and more sun. I just cut the grass Thursday and it already needs it again. I can't keep up!

No plans for the day. Going to make potato salad, and baby back ribs, and have fresh corn with it.

@Snowysmom :grouphug: I think you're on the right path.

Have a great Sunday!

Happy Sunday dear friends,

All is quiet and well here. Online worship isn't on just yet (I think the service is still going on at Carol's church as I type this). I look forward as always to watching a little later. Dad will be going to Pavilions in a bit 🛒along with the 99 Cent Only Store which is right on the way. Tomorrow, he will do :laundy:and Ralphs so that he can stay safely home on Tuesday, the 4th of July. Would any of you enjoy a Guideposts magazine? A very kind friend sent me a bunch of her older issues which I am thoroughly enjoying. Before postage increases next weekend, I would be happy to send any of you one. PM me asap. Also, should any of you ever subscribe to Guideposts and receive a discounted offer for a new subscription for 2024 please let me know. :thanks:

Toto:lovestruc:dogdance:Pea, Grady, always, of course, too, so precious! I wish you and your family a safe and wonderful trip ahead to NH! That sounds like a lot of fun. Thank you for the medical research you did for whoever in your family was in need. You make such a kind difference!

Pollyanna, sorry to hear once again the 🐈got you up earlier than you would have probably liked. wow what great pictures! I love the Patriotic :squirrel:Get some rest, my friend

Snowysmom:grouphug:Amen to what Lynn said, you are indeed on the right and healing path, my friend. You know I truly admire and am here for you always! Glad the birthday party was fun, yay. God Bless all of your precious grandkids. I never did get much into the very old Price is Right. Glad, of course, that Chris enjoyed it! The current version isn't the same at all as pre Covid but still can be fun to watch with dad📺

Lynn:hug:please stay safe and dry:umbrella:I love the Mickey and Minnie :boat:

Have a wonderful day everyone. I will check back in later.

When Kenny was out getting the cake for Owen's party, a large animal ran out in front of his car crossing the street. He took a picture of it. It was a Bobcat! If a Bobcat is in his town, I can imagine what will be in the town I am moving to. It is very country, farm town, and I call it a one horse town.

We have them around here, too, Snowysmom! They’ve apparently made a comeback (?) or a first appearance (?) in this area for a while. I see pictures and sightings posted on our area’s online forum, and I swear I saw one one day myself darting across the road right in front of my house! It looked like a cat but was the size of a dog! Quite intimidating, especially knowing it can climb fences and such (thinking Toto)!

Working on my yard in between the rain storms.

Me and a couple of mockingbirds are going to have it out!

First the deer and now these two are eating all my blueberries this year!

I've covered with netting and they just go the ground and fly up.

So, before coming in since it was clouding over anyway, I got some tarp and covered up my best bush! Big blue blob in the yard.

I'll get up early and uncover it in the morning.

They are now eating the wild blackberries. That's okay.

All I can once more say, is please say safe dear Quackers and away from wild critters! I will always remember how Barbara Ann lost her old dog to a coyote a few years ago, so sad. The dog was very old and in poor health but still, so awful and tragic! Just take care and of all your own :dogdance:and 🐈too!
