Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

Good morning. Foggy outside now, that will be replaced by the smoke, again. Temps start climbing today, upper 80's. Going to get errands and grocery shopping done now. I don't want to be near a store tomorrow with the holiday weekend fast approaching.

Have a great day to all my fellow Quackers

Good Morning Everyone from a little cooler so far LA, it is supposed to truly heat up this weekend. What an extra blessing it has been to not be cold all the time:sunny:

All quiet here. Dad will be heading off in an hour or so to a doctor's appointment. Extra 🙏always appreciated. Thank you:grouphug:We are expecting a Boost Delivery through Ralphs this afternoon. We did get a new, cheerful ice cream print table cloth from Walmart yesterday that we will put on our kitchen table this afternoon. I will post a picture🍨

I will be doing some birthday surprise investigating this morning. Suggestions and help would be fantastic. PM me. Big thank you.

Love to all. I will check back later.

Good morning! (Oops, started this this morning but DH was doing something with the router and we lost internet for a while!) Been enjoying a nice week off. Weather pretty good except for a little rain, which we needed. DH had his annual doctor’s appt yest so I went with him and we went to a favorite diner afterward for an early and relatively healthy dinner. (He got an omelette and I got a shishkebob w salad.) It’s amazing his BP was good with the awful ride we had there due to traffic!

Liesurely taking care of some odds and ends around the house. Did laundry this morning, so nice to be able to do it next to the family room again with a big surface to fold. The outside looks nice, all clean and organized, with flowers in bloom. I got some new rose bushes and my usual New Guinea Impatiens and geraniums, etc.

I could get used to being off all the time. 😮‍💨 DD and I are working over July 4th.

@lynxstch If you didn’t see the ad, Ollies is having a 15% off sale storewide Wed-Sun this week.

I hope everyone has a nice Thursday! 🐥

:wave:Good Afternoon!

Dad, thanks to God's steadfast Mercy and always Love, got another wonderful doctor's report this morning. We are just so blessed, so very humbly thankful to Hom in all, always, anew in an extra way today. Thank you all for your prayers, of course, too.

We are waiting on Boost to deliver and an expected package from Walmart. Quiet otherwise.

Extra :hug:Pea. Get some rest, please, you and your DD!

I called Krispy Kreme's Corporate Office in SC this morning about Sue. God willing in about a month (7-26) she will be celebrating her official 100th birthday! The man I spoke with filled out a donation requestion for me and said he would pass it along. Hopefully I hear back from someone at Krispy Kreme next week sometime that this is a go🍩Dad nor I feel comfortable attending her big party at church a few days prior to her birthday which is, of course, too bad and hard. However, we are planning to stop by and see her briefly on her birthday, bring her a balloon and possibly some flowers, too :) I will keep all of you posted. Thanks for keeping her also in your prayers. you would love her!

Have a wonderful rest of the afternoon! I will share a tablecloth picture later :)

Greetings everyone! Hope you are all well. I'll fully admit...I've lost track around here! So sorry for what I've missed. We've been super busy, and soon I'll be spending a fair bit of (work time per month) going back & forth to our NC jobsites, so life is go-go-go a the moment. We are ramping up for the wedding at our farm in 4 weeks - it's crunch time. I just ordered a tent for the bartender- I suspect he'll be a popular fella!- I want him to be comfortable. I'm starting to spiral thinking about all the stuff I've got to get taken care of. Oh well, it'll get done. It always does. This weekend we are going for our first big buying expedition of supplies. All the water, soda pop, juice, beer, wine, champagne & booze we need for the rehearsal dinner & wedding. My husband keeps saying "I want to be helpful to you, but I don't want to know. I just don't want to know!":drinking:He said he'll go get the truck while I check out at the liquor store:rotfl2: I still don't know how many will be at the rehearsal dinner but that will get sorted this weekend.

The smoke is back, can't smell it but it is so thick that it's as if someone has lit a fire here. It's worse than it was a week or two ago when we first had it. Evidently the air quality is as bad as it gets. Sounds like the weather folks think it's going to clear out in next 24 hours so that is good.

This weekend - July 4th. More work around the house, the Big Liquor Store Run, new in-laws coming over Saturday mid-day for lunch and to check out where the tents and whatnot are going, the last time they were here was December so yard & fields and woods look a lot different! Carving out a bit of time to go see Indiana Jones at some point we hope. And maybe sneak out on the boat for a few hours. We'll see what mother nature has to say about that, since we have yard work to do inbetween the rain.

Milkweed is blooming like crazy and the butterflies are happy with that. Our Egyptian wheat (experiment this year) is doing fabulous. Sunflowers, which we deliberately planted late, are starting to come up. Best yet, a couple years in and our two wildflower plots - both about 3 1/5 acres in size, are really going gangbusters.

Have a wonderful July 4th everyone.

Smoke is here also and coded red. I don't envy you the wedding planning. Been through 3 weddings, 1 for DS and 2 for oldest DD.

:grouphug:Easyas and prayers for calm! The wedding will be a blessed event no matter what may or may not get done! What matters is the love by all to the couple and care for everyone. You, my friend, certainly will make a huge kind difference as will your DH by your presence. I absolutely wish you well, you know that, with all the details falling into place. It will be just fine 💒Please tske care and stay safe!

It's been an eventful afternoon here which is why I didn't post a tablecloth picture. It does though look very Summery and nice. I will share a picture tomorrow :)

So none of you get concerned, all is fine! We just took awhile in resolving an old carbon monoxide battery issue. Reminder to change your batteries, smoke alarm, too. Also a good idea to keep both current.

Stay safe and sweet dreams, friends:hug:

@easyas123 Good luck with the wedding planning. It will all come together. Just take it one day, one planning event at a time. And take some time for yourself to relax and recharge.

@flyingdumbo127 Glad your Dad's appt went well. It is always good to change batteries in all the detectors. I do it at the time changes each year.

Good morning. Another warm day ahead. Yesterday I had lunch with my wonderful friend. Talking with her helps alot. I was in the office so I just meet her in the next town over. The agent got back to me about the water issue in the condo. The explanation is that the workers were grading the yard around the condo on Monday and had to stop when a big storm came in. The rain water ran into the window wells and into the basement. They finished grading the land on Tuesday. Wed when a big storm moved in no water got in. The foreman is watching the area and they are drying it out with a humidifier which Kenny took pictures of. I guess that could be true but I am trying to figure out how to be sure this is really the issue and that it won't be something that will come up again. My agent is in Japan right now so her asst is talking with the listing agent. My agent would be all over this. I will discuss this with the attorney as far as my rights go but it has kind of taken me by surprise so I am now anxious and stressed about the whole thing. I told my friend yesterday that I feel like no matter what is going on something happens to make me more stressed. I do just want some peace. My therapist and friends tell me I need to take care of myself but when stuff keeps happening it is very difficult to do so. Add in other family issues I really can't talk about here yet and life has been even more of a challenge. Sorry to be a downer but life seems to be a bit more of a challenge lately.

Have a good day. Off to work.

Happy Friday!

Worked from home yesterday so that was nice. Working from home today and it's also a 1/2 day :jumping3:. I'm hoping the rain holds off so Mia and I can use the pool this afternoon. I'll see how hot it gets, I don't want to take her outside if it's miserable.🥵

Tried sitting outside yesterday during lunch but these little black bugs were getting on my nerves so I just came back inside.😠

Our air quality was really bad earlier this week. I think I heard the weather person yesterday say that it's clearing up.🤞

Taylor Swift is in Cincinnati this weekend. Her merchandise truck opened yesterday morning and OMG the lines at 7 am were miles long 😲. She's bringing in a boatload of money to the city so people shouldn't really be complaining. This weekend is going to be a mess downtown. She's playing tonight and tomorrow night, the Reds play at home all weekend (the stadiums are right next to each other), and our professional soccer team, FC Cincinnati, plays this weekend. There will literaly be no place to park this weekend.🚗

Keeping my fingers crossed that all the rain that is expected in our area for the weekend waits until the nights to come 🙏. I'm finally off for a weekend and I have things that need to get done outside. I don't need the rain messing up my plans.

Easyas - good luck with the final preparations for the wedding, it actually sounds like fun, a little stressful but fun :scared:. I'm sure it's going to look beautiful.

Have a great weekend!

When our eldest was having a house built, just before settlement my husband noticed some mold in the crawlspace. It would wipe off BUT the concern was what was there that was already covered up &/or couldn't be seen. So they said they wouldn't go to settlement until they had a third person mold remediation company sign off that there wasn't a mold issue anywhere, cost to be covered by the builder. It took some arm twisting, but in the end the builder did it to satisfy them and get the house off their books. Perhaps you could request the same thing or something similar from a third party mold company?

Thanks everyone for the well wishes on the wedding prep...and to think we get to do this all again next summer when eldest gets married at the farm in Sept:drinking: ha ha!! Have a good holiday everyone -

Good morning everyone. Happy last day of June, hard to believe that this year is half over already!

The smoke is still hanging in the air, but doesn't look as bad as yesterday. Hopefully it's clearing. Our temps today will be upper 70's with a chance of storms early this afternoon.
Pretty much everyone in the neighborhood got their yard work done Wed and yesterday , so it should be a quiet weekend, except for the idiot neighbor who insists on starting with fireworks a week before the Fourth of July. Starts all the dogs in the neighborhood barking.

We have no holiday plans, it will just be another quiet day.

@easyas123 Even though you sound very busy with the wedding stuff, you'll get it done and it will be beautiful! It will be good practice for the next one coming up, lol

@Snowysmom I think easy is dead on with her suggestion about a mold company. That would be something that would bother me if water had already gotten in.

Have a great Friday!

Good morning!

I figured the water coming in had something to do with all this rain we’ve been having. It is a concern but it sounds like they’re addressing it. It sounds like the townhouse is beautiful. I hope we get to see pictures!

Easy I can imagine the stress related to the wedding at home. I’m sure it will all turn out lovely despite the work and worry involved. And to do another next year? Wow! But sounds like it will all be worth it.

Frog I hope you can get in some pool time with Mia today without bad weather or bugs! DS’s arms and legs were eaten alive from some sort of bugs where he was coaching this week. I had him put Benadryl cream on as he was scratching them. I hate bugs that even Off doesn’t help. (I hate bugs in general.) Our pool is finally crystal clear. We haven’t gotten the new deck up yet but we have a temporary ladder. Maybe a dip is in order tonight.

Mona I’m glad you and your Dad got out and that he had a good appt. You can PM me if you want to and I can try to help you word your notes.

Bobbi have a great time at WDW! Someone I know is going down today too. Waiting to hear from Taz more about her trip!

We have a retirement party to go to this afternoon. There is a great ice cream place nearby so we’ll grab a cone on the way home. Last night we made the fajitas with Mexican corn and lime rice. I liked the corn and rice best, because, as my DD would say, I got a couple of pieces of snappy chicken and that was it for me with that. Craving something Italian so many we’ll do pasta tonight of some sort.

I hope everyone enjoys their Friday! 🐥

I forgot to add this. My friend is in St Petersburg FL for the weekend. They got there yesterday and had terrible storms that caused some flooding and power outages on one side of the street. By last night, it was beautiful. She sent me this picture of the sunset. The color wasn't changed, it wasn't photoshopped. She (and I) have never seen a sunset that color pink before, so beautiful!

I am sure the builder will not agree to a mold remediation company. We did not notice any mold, just a wet area of concrete and the humidifier was on it. I will definitely take notice at the walk through for any signs of mold. You did give me the thought to mention mold to my agent and attorney as a concern and see what they suggest. I did do some research on new construction and I did see that land grading issues lead to water getting in and that could be the simple explanation as they say. I am finding myself wishing I had bought an existing condo now. But I did not like any.

@lynxstch Beautiful sunset.

@bobbiwoz Have a nice trip. Stay cool.

Tomorrow is younger DGS's birthday party so getting ready for that. It is supposed to be hot so I will be staying in the AC . The kids can bounce in the bounce house and run around like crazy.

I attached some pics of the condo. The walls are light gray and the cabinets too. The hardwood floor is a honey color. The fireplace is gas. The door goes to the deck.

Good afternoon:wave:

I started to post this morning but that never quite got finished, finishing this up now. Prayers, of course, that this finds each of you enjoying some Friday afternoon :sunny:and having a great day. Thank you all so much always for your prayers and kind encouragement. How blessed I am to be a Quacker family member indeed! All is quiet around here this morning. Dad has been long safely home from a busy Friday morning. He said both the laundromat and Ralphs were crowded, possibly due to the upcoming long weekend. Grateful extra to God, of course, he is safely back. I'm grateful he will be listening to me and doing laundry next on Monday so he will stay home all-day Tuesday on the 4th!

Snowysmom:grouphug:🕊️with love and prayer always dear friend. Thinking extra right now of you! Thank you for sharing the two pictures of your condo with us. I like your spacious kitchen along with all the windows in your living room. I definitely have come to appreciate that having extra natural light would be an extra blessing in a new apartment God willing one day to come. ITA also with Easyas' suggestion that you contact a mold remediation company. May your Grandson have a very fun and happy birthday party tomorrow🎈

Footballmouse:hug:, enjoy pool 🏊‍♀️time with Mia. May you and your family also have a safe a good weekend, my friend!

Easyas, extra :hug:to you as well and thank you for your thoughtful and spot on suggestion to our friend Snowysmom. I absolutely, as you know, wish you and your family all the best always especially as your Son's💒gets closer. One thing at a time, my friend:flower3:
Bobbiwoz:hug:, cheers to:mickeyjumfun starting tomorrow. Many prayers you continue to enjoy a safe and truly FUN trip! I look forward to hearing more about your adventures. Thank you again also for taking the time to check in with and let us know you are safe and okay while you are away. YOU matter so much to us and we care, need to know all is well with you

Lynn:hug:, all I can say is you know I pray that the painter🖌️ be done already so you, my friend, can be done being put in the lurch by an unreliable it sure sounds worker :(

Pea:hug:,thank you so much for your kind assistance with wording offer. I will PM you. 🙏that the retirement party is going or by now went well and that you got to also enjoy some 🍨

Judique,, I hope you and your DD and grandkids are all doing well and will get to spend time together this long weekend ahead, too.

Good evening all.

I got home about 1 AM Thursday morning. There were a lot of storms in the Orlando area and our flight was delayed about 2 hours. Thankfully my son was still able to pick us up and get us home. I just relaxed yesterday. Today was getting back to a normal routine.

I am in the process of going through pictures right now so will do a mini report soon. I will say the trip had a few bumps but nothing major. The biggest issue was me managing to do something to my knee and it has been really painful. I have been putting off seeing an orthopedist since mine retired. He was amazing and much like my family doctor will be hard to replace.

Have a good evening everyone.
