Greetings everyone! Hope you are all well. I'll fully admit...I've lost track around here! So sorry for what I've missed. We've been super busy, and soon I'll be spending a fair bit of (work time per month) going back & forth to our NC jobsites, so life is go-go-go a the moment. We are ramping up for the wedding at our farm in 4 weeks - it's crunch time. I just ordered a tent for the bartender- I suspect he'll be a popular fella!- I want him to be comfortable. I'm starting to spiral thinking about all the stuff I've got to get taken care of. Oh well, it'll get done. It always does. This weekend we are going for our first big buying expedition of supplies. All the water, soda pop, juice, beer, wine, champagne & booze we need for the rehearsal dinner & wedding. My husband keeps saying "I want to be helpful to you, but I don't want to know. I just don't want to know!"

He said he'll go get the truck while I check out at the liquor store

I still don't know how many will be at the rehearsal dinner but that will get sorted this weekend.
The smoke is back, can't smell it but it is so thick that it's as if someone has lit a fire here. It's worse than it was a week or two ago when we first had it. Evidently the air quality is as bad as it gets. Sounds like the weather folks think it's going to clear out in next 24 hours so that is good.
This weekend - July 4th. More work around the house, the Big Liquor Store Run, new in-laws coming over Saturday mid-day for lunch and to check out where the tents and whatnot are going, the last time they were here was December so yard & fields and woods look a lot different! Carving out a bit of time to go see Indiana Jones at some point we hope. And maybe sneak out on the boat for a few hours. We'll see what mother nature has to say about that, since we have yard work to do inbetween the rain.
Milkweed is blooming like crazy and the butterflies are happy with that. Our Egyptian wheat (experiment this year) is doing fabulous. Sunflowers, which we deliberately planted late, are starting to come up. Best yet, a couple years in and our two wildflower plots - both about 3 1/5 acres in size, are really going gangbusters.
Have a wonderful July 4th everyone.
