Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

Good Tuesday morning.:flower:

Not much going on, just checking in. Worked a 1/2 day in the office yesterday and the other 1/2 from home. Had plans to do stuff around the yard since it was a nice day (after the storms we had Sunday) but I fell asleep on the couch and ended up taking a nap.😴

Looking forward to the weekend. I actually have the weekend off plus Monday and Tuesday, I'm so excited 🤩. Praying for nice weather so I can work on the pond and just sit by the pool.🤞🙏

That's it, have a great day!

Good morning. We had some wild storms yesterday, I'm not a fan of storms either. It was raining and blowing so hard you couldn't see across the street. Then the sun appeared and the temps soared. Then we had more storms. Rained more overnight and are it just started raining again, just as I went to take the trash down. I'll wait and see if it clears up before I do it. I can't remember a June since I've been here that we've ever had this much rain. The tomato plants are loving it, they've tripled in size since last week.

Off to get something done, make grocery list, and a list of errands for tomorrow.

Have a great day!

We had the thunderstorms, too, in the middle of the night. Grady jumped up on the bed and snuggled into DH, who just kept his hand on him for comfort. I imagine in his former life he might’ve been outside and alone during storms. I always enjoyed them until the day we got hit by lightening, which was the loudest “crack” I’ve ever heard and actually made us jump up out of our chairs. Then the fire. 😩 Thankfully I heard no lightening last night, just thunder, and I pretty much slept right through it. Been sleeping good lately.

Grady liking men reminded me of something that happened the other day at the game. There was a middle aged man sitting near us. I still keep Grady at arm’s length sometimes just to be on the safe side, not knowing his background and that he can sometimes be a little shy with new people. But after an hour or so Grady got up and went over to him. I knew he was welcome as the man smiled and put his hand out and started to pat Grady, and Grady snuggled into him. It was so sweet. I could see the man really liked dogs, and really liked Grady. And vice versa. He was patting him and gently removing the hairs that came off. We got “talking” and he didn’t speak a lick of English. But I am used to that so we wound up having a nice conversation anyway, using non-verbal communication and google translate. He typed that he loved dogs and had recently lost one who was 16. 😢 We also had a lot in common with names, and he had twins, too - older than mine.

Here’s where it got fun. He’d been watching the baseball game intently. And he told me he did not understand the game. 😭 I told him I wished I could teach it to him, the way I taught my son when he was three. So DD wound up finding a video explanation of the game that was in English, but had closed captioning in his language. He took down the link, and had a big smile on his face. Then he asked which player was ours. We pointed to the pitcher, and his eyes lit up. “He’s good!” - and made this sign 💪 lol. He also told me, “He has your face” - I said, yes he does. He stayed for almost the whole game, asking how much longer it would be till the end. I explained the innings and said it was almost over, saying I would like my son to meet him. He said he would like to, but he rubbed his stomach and said he was hungry and had to get home to eat, and we watched him walk off to his nearby home. Such a nice man. Oh, and at one point he said “Your husband will be mad I am talking to you”. I said, “No, I am a nurse and I talk to everyone, he is used to it” and they both laughed, with him saying his daughter is also a nurse.

I have met so many people through my dogs! He reminded me of one of my patients. I really enjoy meeting nice people.

This morning DD and I made breakfast (fried eggs and English muffin) and DS and DH went out for their little morning ride with the dogs and got coffee and a breakfast sandwich. It is still raining. We found some blood on our front porch this morning, we knew it was new because we cleaned the porch with bleach yesterday and that wasn’t there. DH thinks maybe a hawk got a chipmunk or something (which he probably only said to make me feel better). It seemed like bigger spots than that to me, like maybe a coyote got a bunny 😢 and the blood just disappeared like whatever it was lifted it up. I don’t like that happening on my front porch!

An end table I’d ordered finally made it here in a roundabout way. I’d apparently had it delivered to the wrong address but it was a friend of DD’s so they met up and got the table back, lol. DH is setting it up now. Going to do some laundry and take a shower and figure out what to make for dinner. Thinking maybe fajitas.

I hope everyone has a good Tuesday! 🐥

Another case where we need to be able to use two reactions at once!

I love the story of Grady and the man at the ball game, but I would feel just like you do about the poor animal on the porch.

Good Morning with love everyone :)

Thank you all so much. We did have fun shopping yesterday. Dad had given me an Old Navy birthday gift card. We used it along with the store's 40% off sale to get three super soft 👕's, one for him and two for me, for only 19 cents! He said they all :laundy:well. We will try them on later. As all of you know, Old Navy sizing can be quite...."unique."

I most enjoyed CVS again. This is a nicer CVS that's bigger than most, probably because it's in what is already considered Beverly Hills. Anyway, I was able to get a few postcards to send people along with a few magnets including two of Dodger Stadium. Dad loved his and the other we went to our cousins inside their Anniversary card. Very funny magnet story from CVS! When we scanned the magnet to check the price of it because there was none shown, it rang up as "Women's V Neck $14.99!" How in the world is a Dodger Stadium or LA Magnet a shirt?! I don't even like V Necks, only thin (at the neck) crew neck shirts! It took forever for two CVS employees to finally give them to us to I think $2 each minus our Extra Card Discounts. I hope this brings each of you an extra Tuesday smile to read.

Yikes to all the shares of ⛈️I am NOT a storm fan either especially late at night. No thanks. Please stay 🏠and safe, all of you if it is still stormy.

Dad should be home shortly :cheer2:Looking forward to finally watching A Charlie Brown Christmas this afternoon :)

:grouphug:💕I will check back later. Have a great Tuesday! :)

Pea, I also agree with everyone, of course. You know I love sweet Grady.

Prayers dear Bobbiwoz, for safe travels home and a happy reunion with Gus, too,!

Dad, thanks to God, has long been safely home. I did some needed online shopping briefly for us. I've been enjoying secretly planning early, God willing should all of our health allow and Covid diminish a ton more, with my cousins a few big milestone birthday surprises for my dad next February. This would include, as I think I have already shared, Steve and Ruth taking a train trip out here. I would definitely appreciate prayers that we can do this for him. Dad for sure has been through so much.

All of you know I truly cherish God's additional Love, Mercy, and Grace to us both. Each day that He gives us is a gift all the moreso in safety, health, and right mind, ability above all to be of witness and service to Him. Dad is absolutely someone very dear to my heart, that is for sure!

I am not a fan of asking for favors for myself, I think (hope) all of you also know that already. To get to help make possible reuniting with our cousins over his birthday, we would, of course tell him that they were really coming, itself would mean the world to me. We have also agreed on trying to make a couple of surprise outings happen for dad. I would appreciate some help with this in terms of figuring out who to contact and wording. I do enjoy writing just not so much when asking for something for me! PM me. :thanks:

Love to all.

Good morning. Another day of scattered rain showers and thunderstorms ahead, highs in the upper 70s. I want a nice day with no rain. I am going to the new condo to measure for window shades. Kenny can come along early this morning so we will do it while we can. We will also look at doors to see what kind of locks we can get in addition to what is there as well as just take a general look around.

Off to work. Have a good day.

Happy Hump Day!🐪

No rain here for the past couple of days. I thought I was going to have a nice, hot weekend but now it's showing rain all weekend ⛈️. The forecast better change for the better starting on Friday!:sunny:

Pea-n-Me - loved the Grady story, so sweet!⚾💙

I actually made dinner last night, pork chops. I don't really feel like eating it again tonight so I think I'll take the other one and the sides up to my aunt after work today.

Headed to Evan's soccer game tonight, hopefully they get back to winning ⚽. The Reds got back to winning last night and jumped back into 1st place.🏆

Has anyone tried the new craze going around of eating cottage cheese and mustard with their eggs?🤢 I usually eat cottage cheese with my eggs but never mustard. It's supposed to be very good. I think I'll pass on this one.

That's about it. have a great day!

Good morning. Cloudy now , chance of showers this morning, clearing and sun this afternoon. Temps still only in the 70's, but that's prefect temps for me

@footballmouse Never heard of that craze, and I'll pass too. Cottage cheese with eggs I could stand, but with mustard? No thanks.

I want to get into the garden and pull a few weeds and thin out the lettuce, but I'll have to wait till it clears up this afternoon. I'll find something else to get into in the meantime. We moved shopping day till tomorrow, so I'll get stuff done today.

Have a nice morning,

Good Morning:grouphug:

Dad and I are both wearing our respective new 👕's. Mine is a bright light blue and dad's a darker blue with palm trees. What a blessing it is to have a shirt that actually fits me rather than being huge and is super soft as well. I also have this same T in a nice mint green color :)

Dad will shortly be going out briefly just around our immediate neighborhood for about an hour or so. We are expecting lots of packages today from Walmart, Amazon, Target, and through the good old 🐴Express (an order from Walmart is being delivered from the regular mail). Speaking of Walmart, we are a member of Walmart+ for the year because of a special promotion they were offering. Should any of you be planning to join Walmart+, would you please PM me before doing so? I would really appreciate it so much. Thank you.

Right now, I'm working on some mail. It looks like besides stamps, media mail and envelopes will be going up on July 9th, too. Be sure to get extra postage and/or mail out anything that might require more than a stamp now!

🐣💕always to all! I will check back later.

I just got back from the new condo. It does look nice. The countertops and master shower are nice. The color of walls are a soft gray which I wasn't sure would be like that. A nice surprise. The rugs worked out too. The only issue we found was water in an area in the basement. I emailed my real estate agent's asst to let her know. I want that issue resolved before purchase. It looks like a house and not a hotel suite. They still have alot of landscaping to do but the area of the complex that is done and has landscaping is very attractive with scrubs and flowers. I anticipate my area will look the same by the end of the summer. I am and have been very anxious about this whole experience. We got the windows measures so now Kenny will help me order shades. He has ordered online for his house and I want something similar.

I haven't even heard of it, let alone tried it! I usually mix some cheddar cheese in when I scramble eggs, though.

Glad the condo is shaping up nicely, @Snowysmom. It sounds pretty.

Did you think to take pictures of the water? That might help with getting it fixed right away - which I agree they need to do!

Huge :grouphug:Snowysmom! What a great (minus the water of course) share. You know you are extra in my heart and prayers always, my friend.

We have gotten some of our packages already. Waiting for Amazon and the ponies to come later with the mail.

I would still appreciate help with wording of a couple emails if any of you would be up for this. :thanks:Doctor visit for dad tomorrow morning prayers would also be once again mean so much to me. This appointment is a bigger one that we pray will lead to his being on a longer recall with seeing this physician. All my love and appreciation to and of each of you always, which I pray all of you by now already know, too :)

Sun finally came out around 4. There was so much smoke from the wildfires in Canada that you could visibly see the smoke hanging outside. It was so weird. I just went out and mowed the whole lawn again. Temps start rising tomorrow back hear 88 and then 90's for Friday and Saturday with thunderstorms.

Have a nice evening all

Yes, that smoke is awful. My area recorded the worst air quality in the world on Wed. My asthma has been acting up quite a bit. We can even smell the smoke and there were reports of ash falling. It is supposed to get better later today, I hope that is true. I have been keeping all the doors and windows closed.
