Update from Tina!

I had the Mammogram his afternoon & they did find a cyst the size of a 1/2 dollar in the left breast. Then they did an Ultrasound of that area. The Radiologist felt that it is nothing to worry about & so I was allowed to go home!!

So, I would say today was good news! Next part is Tuesday for the Transvaginal Ultrasound. Then I need to schedule a follow up with OBGYN to go over all the results…

Fingers crossed & positive prayers that this whole thing goes well!!

Thank you all for your support!

Thanks to God, Dad and I are safely home from our trip. It definitely meant a lot to go inside the library. They didn't have much and of course, we didn't want to stay too long. We did get dad's hold books, a couple Boxcar Children books, along with a couple CDs, and A Charlie Brown Christmas, which I love for Linus. We both agreed what a blessing this was and to be able use this branch for items we order online from any of the many LA library branches to pick up there. I don't now need to go back to this library. I definitely enjoyed doing so today.

I also ended up going inside the post office! They had a self service machine in a different room than the main room which had a non moving big line. Dad, I was able to help him, by working through the machine's prompts to purchase needed postage on 4 things. All of you know being able to do that because it helped him most of all meant a lot. Also, in a small, more personal way, I got to send out those pieces of faith and cheer :)

Snowysmom:grouphug:Get some rest tonight, please! I would also love to hear more about your fun, I pray, at the ⚾game.

Pea, always an extra hug with ❤️ and 🙏for you to stay safe always, especially at work where you always provide such compassionate care to all. You know I thank you always for doing so.

Absolutely, Lynn! This 🖌️ doesn't sound very professional, sadly. Is she new to her business?🙏absolutely that she finally finishes her contract with you!

:thanks:so much Bobbiwoz:hug: for being, of course, a kind friend to Tina and all of us and letting us know! Did she mention returning to, or in general, our thread at all?

Wishing all of you a great rest of the evening with of course love and sweet dreams always!

@TazDev Have fun on your trip.

@bobbiwoz Good news for your friend. I hope the rest goes well too.

@Judique I hope your cat is feeling better. It is upsetting when they are not well.

@Pea-n-Me There were so many dogs at the game. They were well behaved too, at least in my section. A few woofs here and there. I was surprised at how many really big dogs were there and they just sat or laid down near their owners in the stands. The Woosox won but we did not stay for the last inning and a half. The kids were getting tired and cranky. They loved the food and the music. Older DGS told us he is not a sports person. Well, he will be doing T Ball next month. Kenny is one of the coaches so the and his brother will be there. Should be interesting.

@flyingdumbo127 Nice to hear that you got to the library and even to the post office. You are making such good progress. I am sure your Dad appreciates the help and the company.

Tomorrow I have a haircut appt. My hair is too long now. She needs to cut it a bit more this time. WE have a good time chatting while she cuts my hair. Then I will be seeing Jeff and family this weekend sometime. Jeff and I had a long phone chat the other day. He is concerned about me and he feels that I am not making any progress moving on since Chris passed. He says he is not rushing me (he is!) and that he just wants me to be happy. I understand that. I try to tell him that losing your DH of 45 years is not something you just get over and move on, that I will always grieve for him and miss him even while I try to live my life. He is young and does not really understand. My friend tells me I am making some progress with traveling, reading books mainly while I travel. I still don't do alot of reading at the house like I used to. I go to salt therapy and even went to a program there. She tells me I am in kindergarten and that is good for now. I am fortunate to have 2 supportive friends around me. If you have not been through this journey in life then it is difficult to truly understand how daunting and sad it is.

Off to work. I have a whole new banking platform to learn. Blech!

Have a good day.

Snowysmom….. I think you are right. Your son just wants you to be happy. He wants things to be back to normal. I understand that but, I wish they could also understand how impossible that is. My DD is a “fixer” she is a “doer” she just doesn’t get that it truly is a process. I mean she hasn’t come out and said anything but I get the feeling that my progress isn‘t where she would like it to be. Well, to be honest, it isn’t where I’d like to be either but it is what it is. I think we have to remember that if we are “better” then they can feel better. I think it is good that you have communicated how you feel. For what it’s worth, I can see the progress you have made.
When I see people in my support group who are 5 years out, and still struggling, I must say that is daunting. I’m still waiting for a day when I don’t cry.

Happy Friday!:flower:

Working from home today since it's a 1/2 day for me. As usual for the Friday forecast, cloudy, rain, and not getting out of the 70's 🌥️ My 1 pool day for the week and I've used it once this month. Maybe Mia & I can at least take a walk.

I work day shift this weekend. Sunday we are supposed to get some bad storms, hopefully it waits until I get home, dogs don't like thunder.⛈️

Had a chiropractor appointment yesterday, stopped at ChickenSalad Chick on the way home and grabbed a sandwhich and an iced team. I love their iced tea, they have great ice!☺️

Have a great day!

Quick update while heading to Epcot. Yesterday had ups and downs. Hoop de doo was fun and the food was ok. I would do it again. The down side was in animal kingdom. There were some camp groups and one of the counselors got really rude with me as I was taking pictures, telling me I couldn't while they were there. I got angry, told her I didn't even see the kids as my been camera was pointed up at the birds. I would have been fine assuring her I would not take pics of the kids if she wasn't so rude yelling at me. It really put me in a bad mood for a bit.

Ony other downside has been the thunderstorms. I'll get through them thankfully today there are more inside places to hide out

Have a great day

Good rainy Friday morning. We have had our share of rain this week, it can move on for a couple of days after this, lol. Everything is green and growing so well thanks to the free watering it's getting. It's also helping save on our elec bill by not needing the ac on. It hasn't really been muggy along with the rain, which is surprising.

@tazdev3225 and @Snowysmom :grouphug: 's. I can only imagine how hard it is. But you are both strong, and you will move through your grief as you need to, there's no need for anyone to rush you.

Off to find something to do, house is clean, laundry is in the washer, I can't just sit here all day and do nothing!

Have a great Friday

Happy Friday :grouphug:

Dad will soon be heading off to the laundromat and Ralphs. Tomorrow, God willing, he really will stay home. He's also hoping the Dodgers start doing better this weekend⚾I will be keeping an eye out, more in July, for a good upcoming Christmas in July Hallmark movie to watch 🎄

:grouphug:💕🙏Snowysmom and Dazed with so much care! We all do care. Indeed, your family, including of course, all of us your Quacker family, want you both to be happy and at peace.

Please don't ever let anyone suggest how you must, should, etc feel! Or often callous in a way, that X is going through Yand Z which compared to what you (according to the person speaking the words) are going through is so much worse. As a kid and young adult, how similar words, had the opposite effect on me than perhaps they were intended. I will just say to me, such trite words often felt putting down, minimizing, rather than encouraging, building up.

Both of you are wonderfully, fearfully made ladies! I sincerely am blessed to know you both, would love to one day get to meet you both. Meantime, I pray, to be of small encouragement and kind listening ear to you both.

I will end this by saying, as always, continue to hold tight to His hand and may you come to more fully know His peace. Jesus is forever with you no matter any storm inside or out. Oh and, you both have come so far! You both courageously choose life, faith, to go through your days with kindness. Please just remember YOU. Take care of yourselves and know, you are not alone:hug:

@dazedx3 It is daunting to think of the road ahead. I am not a big groups person and thus far have avoided support groups. My younger DS told me I should consider it. I told him and I told my therapist that if I went to a group I would end up taking on their grief too. I have enough of my own. My son told me that he is not rushing me which is exactly what he is doing. He does not look at it that way and being young and having his life ahead of him, he does not understand. I know he wants me to be happy but after 45 years of marriage that is not going to happen easily or quickly. I will always miss Chris. I did tell him I am happy when I am with his family. I have read and been told that everyone going through this needs to do it their way, on their time frame, and how ever long it takes, it takes. The book, It's OK that you're not OK, is very supportive of this. I wish you some peace and hope the support group does help you.

@flyingdumbo127 and @lynxstch Thanks for the kind words.

@TazDev Some people are just rude and don't care. It is best to ignore and just do what you are doing. I hope you are having a nice time in spite of storms and rude people.

The bird feeder Kenny got for his yard says it is squirrel proof. Well, they forgot to tell the squirrels that. Today we watched one figure out how to hang sideways from the top and nibble on the food. Usually he eats stuff off the ground but today he decided to do something different. The chipmunk just runs up and stands on the metal guard and eats. I just see his tail when he is on the other side of it.

I got more stamps today so good for a while Thanks for the heads up. Quiet weekend ahead as the kids are with their mother.

Hi! I don’t believe Tina has ever been on Disboards. I am pretty sure that I have mentioned her in the past. She has RA and gets chemotherapy for help with that. Sadly, she has no defense against Covid in spite of getting all injections and boosters and experimental stem cell treatments.

Friday here, and it stopped raining for a bit and the sun came out and we went to the pool. :) Now rain is expected anytime soon. My DSis convinced me to go to the pool first, then do the garden work that needs to be done. I’m glad I listened to her!

Happy Friday evening to everyone!

@Snowysmom , I liked the squirrel story. Ours here in CM are like those, too!

@tazdev3225 , glad you enjoyed Hoop Dee Doo! I was so disappointed regarding the strawberry shortcake…all that hoopla, song and all. We may have each had one strawberry!

Snowysmom:grouphug:Amen, that each person's journey is their own. There absolutely is no one way. Please do remember always we care and are here for you. Glad you got ypur stamps. I got 2 extra sheets of postcard stamps online yesterday because around here the post offices rarely have them. I also like your squirrel story. Thanks for sharing :)

:grouphug:extra Bobbiwoz and prayers for Tina and always you and Tom, you know that. My apologies for automatically thinking that the Tina you mentioned yesterday=Tina who began our thread. I don't think any of us have heard from her in years :( On a positive note, I'm also glad that you listened to your sister🏊‍♀️

All is quiet around here. Wishing all of you a good and relaxing rest of the day.

:rotfl: They are crafty little critters!!

@lynxstch I hope you feel better soon. A day to relax and take care of yourself.

I got my hair cut and it feels so much better. It is short but it will grow out. Once the rain has stopped for sure I will take a walk with Kenny. I got a picture of the squirrel on the bird feeder. I tried to get one that had the cardinal at the top, the squirrel on the feeder, and the female cardinal on the side. They left when I got ready to take it.

Have a good day.

:grouphug:Good mid Afternoon AuntieMe3, Luckyrabbit and Good evening to everyone else, I believe,

Dad and i just enjoyed each talking with our Houston cousins. They will be celebrating God willing their 41st Anniversary on the 4th of July. We keep in prayer their being able to finally take a 🚋out here perhaps even next year some time should the pandemic ease up more. It would be so wonderful to see them again. I may have shared that next year will be a milestone birthday for my beloved dad, so such a visit would mean all the more to both of us. Otherwise, all is thankfully quiet around here, which, of course, is how we like it!

Snowysmom, I do remember when I got my first💇‍♀️ back in early May since before Christmas 2019 just how amazing that was! The stylist, as I shared, couldn't have been any sweeter and is someone both dad and I will absolutely request again. As you all can imagine after over 3 years my hair desperately needed to be cut! She did need to cut more than I may have normally wanted but wow what a difference to feeling a ton lighter and better. Plus, as you said, how blessed we are that hair will grow back. Enjoy your lighter for Summer haircut, my friend and you know always, I pray your Summer only has more moments of small joy and peace.

Carol, always an extra blessing to see a post from you, my friend! What a great park! May they have a safe and fun time indeed. Thank you for once again :dogdance:sitting. I look forward, as always, to watching worship in the morning.

❤️to all of you! :)

Good Sunday morning. Bright sunshine and temps near 88 today. Rain overnight tonight and then nice again tomorrow.

Neighbors came home from FL yesterday and brought their chickens back to the coop. They had someone watching them and their dog. The problem is, they've now added a rooster. That stupid thing crowed every 10 min all day long until after dinner time. It just started up again. The neighbors are not going to put up with that, myself included. Even though we are in the county, you aren't supposed to have animals like roosters, goats, etc. This rooster is HUGE. I had to close the windows yesterday afternoon because it was giving me a headache. The coop is in the very back of their yard, directly next to our shed. I saw several neighbors outside yesterday looking to see where the noise was coming from. We're hoping they get tired of listening to it and realize that if it's bothering them, it will bother the neighbors too.

I felt better yesterday afternoon so I went out and mowed the lawn, weed wacked, and used the leaf blower to clean everything off. I also washed the floor and rugs and by last night I was exhausted and had no trouble falling asleep.
Today I have no chores on my to do list, and it better stay that way.

Have a great Sunday everyone

@lynxstch I hope the rooster situation gets resolved soon.

It is a warm day here already. I did my first walk of the day and it is humid too. Kenny and I are going to the Worcester Art Museum today. He got a pass from the library. We wanted to go back since the last time we went the kids were with us and they were all over the place. I really like the colonial artists and the family portraits so I am looking forward to being able to actually look a them. I hope to swing by the condo on the way back and see if any more progress has been made. I think I may venture to the back of the condo and see how the deck area is. Jeff is too busy this weekend for a visit. Next weekend is Owen's birthday party so they will be coming for that.

Have a good day.
