Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

These days are flying by! Been busy! DH and I ran around yesterday into the evening. My cousin was going to stop by as he was in town but I just missed him as we were still out. Friends of ours came over Friday night and we hung out and had some snacks and wine. They loved the renovations. The husband had seen the carpet sqares before we put them down and made a wise crack, but he couldn’t get over how much he liked them seeing them in the space; he said it several times. They caught DS just as he was coming home from work and they joked about it. DS still somewhoat unconvinced, but loves it overall. It’s nice that we can use the space now, but I still have to do the books.

Just about to run out to DS’s ballgame again today. DH gets to come this time and he is looking forward to it. Hopefully it doesn’t rain. Will probably hit the diner again afterward. Nice to see everyone posting. Thinking of you all and offering 🙏 for those having difficulty. Enjoy this Sunday. 🐥

It's sunny for the moment here, but humid. Hoping any rain holds off until after a neighbor's graduation party this afternoon.

Had a good day yesterday - oldest niece and her DH came over for lunch and games. (It was too rainy for the swimming.) We played Quiddler, and had a nice visit.

:wave:Happy Sunday on this cool morning here so far.

Dad went off not long ago to Pavilions🛒I'm looking forward tomorrow to accompanying him to the nearby (as in 10 minutes or so away) Beverly Connection which is across the street from the Beverly Center Mall, a place that might be more familiar to some of you :) Anyway, the Beverly Connection is has a nice CVS, Target, and Old Navy all in the same small area that does not require a lot of walking or doing so back and forth! Since Old Navy (I still have my birthday Gift Card at Old Navy from dad), doesn't open until 10, we will go to the other stores first. This afternoon, most likely as it's getting later now and I prefer to be of quiet, prayerful state of mind (not waiting for dad to possibly call while he's out) as always it will mean a lot to me to listen to online worship.

We enjoyed watching some of Unlocking Christmas last night that we had DVR-ed on Hallmark Movies and Mysteries. Ranger Pooh, a kind Disboard Member in the Hallmark Movie thread, posted this link Christmas Movies to HM&M's movies from now through next Friday, June 30th. Unlocking Christmas is apparently based on A Season to Celebrate by Fern Michaels, which I have added to our library account as an E Book to read📕Unlocking Christmas is about a veteran named Kevin who has recently returned home to his small town and is (I think) living with his parents. I always do love when both parents are healthy and positive characters in Hallmark Christmas especially movies. God has Kevin meet his love interest, a doctor named Kate at the local 🏥where she's spending the year working. I really like so far, her sweet coworker, nurse Liz. We stopped watching when both Kate and Kevin discover a mysterious 🗝️left at their respective 🚪along with a clue note. It reminds me of another Hallmark Christmas movie that we both enjoyed last year (I'm not finding its name) about a small-town newspaper reporter who once was a feature story writer but after something happened which took away his confidence in continuing with that, he currently writes less time-consuming pieces. He meets one of his biggest fans who has a crush on him in a neighboring town. I believe she works with a friend coworker in some type of remodeling store (I could be making that part up) anyway the two of them partner up to work through a series of clues that takes them on adventures all around NYC where they finally meet the couple who inspired something.... thanks to help from the boss of the reporter. I know that was both long winded and vague. Any ideas on what movie this may have been? I will also post it in the Hallmark thread and share here, of course, should anyone there recalls the title. I'll share more about Unlocking Christmas once we have finished watching.

Lynn:grouphug: with continuing prayer daily that YOU finally take care of yourself more, dear friend, please get some better rest! I also, hope, of course, the 🐓situation gets peacefully and quickly resolved! That sure does not sound peaceful or pleasant at all :(

Snowysmom:hug:and have fun at the museum🖼️I'm so glad that you and Kenny are able to get back there. I remember how much you enjoyed your previous recent trip. It always makes me happy to know you are doing something that brings you extra cheer.

Pea:hug: wow, you have been on the run:car:⚾game good wishes as always to your Son! You please also slow down a bit and get some R&R!

PollyannaMom:hug:Quiddler sounds like fun. I think I've asked this once before but is it similar to either Banagrams or Upwords? I know that both of those games are variations of Scrabble. I'm glad that you were able to spend an evening with your niece and her husband. Dry ☂️for your neighbor's 🎓party. I hope that will be fun for everyone. Thank you and your DH for going and supporting the new graduate. Congratulations to them for sure!

Wishing all of you a relaxing rest of the day. I'll check back later.

It's a card game in which each card has a letter (or a blend/digraph) and you pick up and discard one each turn, hoping to form words at the end of the round. It scores kind of like Scrabble, in that each card is worth a certain number of points.

Good morning. Another warm day coming. I have another salt therapy appt. It has helped with my allergies and breathing but so far not with anxiety and sleep. They say that takes a bit more time. I do like the time to meditate and relax.

There are so many Hallmark movies with the same actors and similar plots that it is hard to remember movie titles. I have seen that thread about the Hallmark movies, just never think to look at it.

Have a good day.

Good morning, all ☀️

Nothing exciting going on today. Have to run to the bank, and may do a little shopping while I'm out. Need to water the "garden" (three large kitty litter buckets on the back porch) and the rose bush, as it looks like the rain will miss us.

Had a delicious lunch and dinner yesterday, between a graduation party for a neighbor and a fish fry from DH's lodge (which he picked up as take-out).

Good Monday morning. It was cloudy, but the sun is trying to come out. Calling for storms after noontime. Going to walk around the yard and see if anything has to be done first. Don said he was cold yesterday and didn't want the ac on. It was 84 in here according to the thermostat and I got a headache from it being too warm in here. This morning the humidity outside is 94, so I closed up and put the ac on early. I can't function if I'm that hot. He can always put a blanket over his legs. A bonus is with the windows closed I can't hear that noisy rooster. They are going to have to do something about it, it's bothering more than just us.
Off to find something to do. Have a nice day

Monday Hug and Good Morning, 🐥💛

Dad and I will shortly be heading out and are looking forward to doing some in person 🛍️together. When we get home later, we may do some safer from home 🖥️purchasing of needed items, too. I have been thoroughly enjoying being in more contact with my cousins working together to begin sharing ideas on how to start reaching out to the Dodgers and Disneyland regarding birthday surprises for my dad next year--a milestone birthday for him. Should any of you have any ideas or suggestions please PM me! :)

Great Quiddler explanation, PollyannaMom! I will look more into it this afternoon. I remember years ago having a Scrabble card game that had letters on each card called Scrabble Slam Of course, Boggle was always fun, too :)

I did enjoy watching some online worship yesterday. The Deacon who preached message was a reminder that before God created our world, He had it perfectly planned with sheer love for us! He indeed has known us as He tells Jeremiah, from before we were placed in the womb and time even was. What LOVE He is!

Dad and I agreed we were done watching Unlocking Christmas. Neither of us cared for the overall main characters acting anyway. I liked Kevin's parents and Kate's coworker more. Oh well. Grateful there will be other movies to come. I do hope each of you enjoyed a good Sunday movie and will also watch something enjoyable today. Ad and i still have to watch A Charlie Brown Christmas!

I will come back this afternoon. To those of you with :sunny:weather, please send me some! 💕to all always.

Sorry the rooster is bothering you so much, Lynn! We had one out back for a few years, we swear they did it on purpose because of Toto going out early in the morning and barking a few barks as he ran into the yard. They had the whole deal (chicken coop next to our fence) but now they’re all gone (the chickens). The two families who lived in that house before them were great; these current people are unfriendly.

DS had a great game yesterday, pitched the whole game. They won. He also decided to hit, which he doesn’t usually do, so that was fun to see, too. He was like a lobster at the end of the game and took a long time to cool down. We didn’t go to the diner because we had the dogs with us and it was too hot for them to stay in the car. He was beat last night. He’s coaching this week in the mornings and then going to work in the afternoons, so it will be some long days for him (but a little extra money).

DD, too, is doing clinicals at the hospital, so she’s there doing that today and will have to work the next three days her regular job. Last week she did seven days in a row without a day off and mixing up shifts, so she was beat, too. One day it took her two and a half hours to get home she was caught behind a big accident. She’s enjoying this practicum but is trying to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

We’re puttering around the house doing this and that today. Dryer repair person already here and gone (left a huge mess I had to clean up). I’m so happy it was fixable. Toto has a grooming appt this afternoon I will take him to. DH is working in the yard. Wound up planting some plants in the garden as we enjoy the fresh vegetables so much. Cleaned off both the back deck and front porch, so much pollen and leaves accumulate. It is supposed to rain and thunder here this afternoon.

Haven’t decided on dinner tonight. We might do a chicken marsala or chicken cutlets. Or we might go out to get a bite to eat, who knows. DH and I have the week off, which is nice. Enjoy this Monday, all! 🐥

Grad enjoying the game

ETA PS I was really impressed with how quickly Grady learned the baseball routine. Yesterday was just his second game, and he knew the drill right away. Nice walk, sit and chill, DS comes back at the end! 🤣 Toto’s been going to games his whole life so he’s an old hand at it. But it’s all new for Grady and he was so good!

Good evening.

Waiting to see if we get a thunderstorm. We had one at 5:30 am that woke us up with the loud thunder. Picked blueberries early.

Got my second shingles shot today. Then rewarded myself with a pedicure.

QOTD. Not a big fan of games but play some especially with the grandkids.

Had to comment on this. I dislike Candyland. And this weekend I played Bluey Scavenger Hunt with Tessa and Carter. There is no end. I got bored with it.

Jack and I like Scrabble and Backgammon. Andrew and Jen have some different games that I like. I think one was Forbidden Island. It was cooperative play and I am not real completive but hate to lose.

Might need to go close windows.

@flyingdumbo127 I hope you had a nice time shopping.

Good morning. We had bad thunderstorms during the night. It seemed like it was right over head at one point. Kept me up for quite a while. I do not like night time storms at all. Yesterday afternoon it was absolutely pouring out a few times. Thankfully it let up when I went to my salt treatment. I was not looking forward to driving in a down pour. I was able to relax a bit during the salt therapy so that was good. It is a nice break from reality for 45 minutes.

Off to work. Have a good day.
