Good morning. Snow is expected tonight. As usual, varying amounts reported. I have read anywhere from 2-5 or 5-8. I don't like having to be inside all day tomorrow. Charlotte is supposed to have her friend party tomorrow at a gymnastics place. I hope they get to do it. Sunday I go to Kenny's to drop off stuff and hopefully he will be home so we can talk. Still mulling over the condo purchase. Kenny is 100% behind it and he has seen it twice. Jeff will see it next weekend. I am taking it slowly and really thinking about it. Sunday I am going to visit it again just for a drive through the place to see if I can really see living there. Everyone tells me that I would not be stuck there for life. But I don't want to make it a habit to move. I am not someone who is like that typically. I like to be settled for a long time. I do know that if years down the road I want something else I can do it. And we do not know what the future holds.

Off to work. Have a good day.

Good Friday morning!:figment:

Rainy day today, storms expected this afternoon. I work night shift this weekend so not much going on.☔

The kids and I are headed to one of the state parks near me, Hueston Woods, for the Maple Syrup Festival on Sunday. They also have a pancake breakfast so that's what we're doing 🥞. If they were still little, we would have done the tour to see them tap the trees to get the syrup. It's an all you can eat pancakes and sausage w/the tapped syrup for $9/person. That's a pretty good deal, last year Jacob put down 14 pancakes and sausage so he got his money's worth.

Watching the Today show and they're talking about the Alex Murdaugh murder case. Not sure how that guy really thought he was going to get away with that.🤨

Got caught up on my YouTube people that I watch. One of the couples is posting videos of their stay on the Disney Wish. Such a beautiful ship, would love to go on another one.🚢

Have a great day!

Good morning! Sunny now, but wind and rain expected later. We’ll go out this morning to pick up some medicine from Wal Mart. I will make Taste of Home recipe for Portuguese Shrimp as our main meal. Looking forward to that.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning. Weatherman can't make up his mind if it's going to be rain, or rain/snow/sleet. Not doing anything right now. They cancelled school at any rate. Calling for high winds tonight.

I called Dave late yesterday afternoon, since I never heard from him. He said they were putting in doors and it had to get done before the weather today. He's shooting for tomorrow to start as of right now, I called him this morning to make sure. He's going to tear out the walls, ceiling, all electrical boxes, take the vanity out, linen cabinet out, etc. Then he's going to have his brothers help him move the tub (I insisted that he wasn't trying it alone, with his neck issues) and then the floor. He will put everything back in reverse order. I hope he doesn't get called out to plow if it snows to the western side of us.

I need to finish clearing everything else out of there today and that will be it. I have a headache again, between the weather, and stress about Don's health and the bathroom. I almost wish we had never decided to even do one. Too late now unless I plan on returning every last thing we bought, I don't even want to think about it.

Have a nice day all, stay safe if you are in the path of the bad weather.

For those that love GSD dogs (I'm very uneasy around them but can appreciate their great qualities and hard working nature) I want to share a pic of my friend's dog.

He's sitting in the back of my old van that I'm selling to her. It's now his favorite ride as he is too big and could damage their newer hondas. Immediately he looked around and said, 'this is my seat. Over a 100 pounds and black in color so harder to photograph, but this one isn't too bad.

Good morning!

The maple syrup festival sounds like a lot of fun! My family would love it, we always went to things like that, and they love pancakes and sausages, especially DS and DH! I hope you can get some good rest over your work weekend when you’re off @footballmouse.

@Snowysmom I was thinking of you last night, I know this decision is weighing heavily on your mind and that you are feeling so overwhelmed. I was looking through some prayers for something else, and tried to find just the right one for you, too. I found a couple that are nice, I will PM them to you.

The other prayer I was looking for was for DS, one for realizing his hopes and dreams. He’s been busy with work, and he has two important tests coming up that he’s been studying for. He’s been doing well since he got that promotion, and I think is where he is supposed to be right now, as he’s learning a ton, but he has other things he wants to do, too, and he will, in time. The FL trip generated some interest in his pitching skills and he’s been invited to play on some other teams, one out of country 😳 (all expenses paid) and one more local that is the first of its kind, which he accepted, so that has been nice for him. I found a good prayer for him and I will send it to him today. The other day I went to put something in his work bag and there was a letter there (laying on top of some green and other-colored banana bread - boys!) that a coworker had written for him. It made me cry it was so nice. He never even mentioned it.

@easyas123 Sounds like your renovation is coming along nicely! I like what you did with it. Safe travels.

@lynxstch It is hard to nail some of these guys down. I loved the man who did two big projects for us - one was to build our in-law apt and the other our sunroom - but he worked mostly alone or with just one other guy, and sometimes he wouldn’t show up for days. His Dad, who was also in the business and helped him sometimes despite being retired, would tell me, “He has to take care of all his customers, and he’ll take care of you, too”, which turned out to be true, and helped me understand him more. When something happens, we can call him, and he’ll take care of it, though it may take a while. He put in a hot water heater for us not too long ago and I didn’t get a bill for it for like six months, lol. We knew we’d get it eventually and we did! I think that’s just how some of these guys operate. He did such good work I just learned to live with it. Don’t have second thoughts about your project, you’re on your way, and you’ll enjoy it so much when it’s done! I have some thoughts about Don but I will take them to PM.

Did a big grocery order yesterday and put it all away. I noticed at Market Basket they carry the marsala sauce but I haven’t tried theirs so I don’t know how good it is. It’s in the “ready made foods” section that has the pizza sauces and things like that. There was a lady there who kept getting in front of me like she was the only one in the grocery store, and then I saw it - she was smelling the fish! As in, guy takes it out and comes around to front of counter with fish and she sticks her nose in it almost touching it! :crazy2: It reminded me of when I worked at a deli during college and we had this lady that came in every week who wanted to smell the whitefish in the same manner. If I saw her coming I’d try to take my break :lmao: but we had one guy working with us who was obnoxious himself who would often deal with her. Anyway, that was a blast from the past, and I tried to not let it trigger me (but it did! Lol).

@Judique I love that picture! He’s a big boy and I wish him lots of happiness in “his” new van, lol. (I was just about to post a similar picture!) That reminded me of something funny that happened the other day. Grady was by the front door when the Amazon guy came by and he was wagging his tail! So much for a big watchdog! DH also told me he saw him running beside a rabbit the other day - Toto was doing the chasing, but G was just la-di-da running with him. Such a sweet soul. Just saw your post about the leather. I always have light leather seats and they don’t get ruined. I keep a blanket down but often it winds up in disarray. The big thing is the wetness, and I keep a towel on hand to dry them off when they’re wet, same as I do in the house. That and the hair, which, admittedly there’s a lot of. I had two GSDs when I had my minivan and DH got it detailed for me once. The guy came and knocked on the door, he had to increase the price as it was taking longer (and more elbow grease) than anticipated, lol.

Have a Good Friday, everyone! 🐥 I’ll be working!

Happy Friday, everyone,

Dad talked with one of our neighbors yesterday who said he saw snow on street not far from Ralphs. With this weather, ❄️is more possible anywhere. Hard to imagine though. Absolutely extra blessed by God for all including warm beds with comforters!

AuntieMe3🙏talking with your neighbor went well and that all of you have a little warmer of a weekend, too. Dolly :dogdance:should have fun making new friends.

Snowysom:grouphug:So very many peaceful prayers to you always. You have been so very thoughtful about moving into a new condo. There was once very briefly a HGTV show called Sleep On It that allowed potential home buyers to spend a night in the home they were most interested in. I thought the concept was sort of interesting while I admit a bit odd at the same time. Wish you were able to do something similar now. What about bringing with you on your next walk through a few very small, lightweight things that arechek easy to put in a tote bag. When you are inside, place a small picture for example on a counter or as silly as it may sound hang a kitchen towel on a hook. Perhaps doing so will make the space feel more homey and more importantly your new right home. Just an early morning idea. I truly hope Charlotte gets to have her party tomorrow!

Footballmouse, I would love to join you for 🥞breakfast and fun experience. I do remember reading about something similar one time in a Boxcar Children's Book of all places but have never heard of a real life event like that. Have fun!

Bobbiwoz, smooth and quick medicine pickup and other Walmart🛍️prayers. Enjoy your dinner tonight! Prayers always that you and Jim are well and having a good day.

Lynn, big :grouphug:along with contuining extra prayers for both you and Don. You know I pray you remember to take care of yourself, too. Please do. We all want you to be of health in body and spirit. More than us, so does God. I also love your Bambi picture, too.

Judique, what a beautiful:dog:I understand about being cautious at first around bigger canine friends. May he enjoy his new seat indeed. Reminds me of Champ as a puppy taking to an overstuffed chair we had at the time that became his🪑rather quickly. Good memory.

Pea, ⚾:cheer2:for your son, what wonderful opportunities. More importantly, to you mom:hug:, thank you for raising based extra on the letter you found, such a kind young man. No surprise because he is so blessed to call you mom. Best to both of your kids and always, of course, to you and your DH, too You know I love precious T and G also:dog2: God Bless your wonderful handymen!

Stay well and warm, everyone and have a good day. I will check back later.

Dad and I so far haven't found any wall sockets here in the main/living room we could use to try a heater.
I've been thinking of your situation, and I'm sure that if the outlets aren't safe/up to code there is a obligation on the property owners part to correct the situation. It's quite a liability to have a rental property with serious issues like that, they are leaving themselves open to being found criminally at fault should something happen, not to mention civilly regardless of if they are a single person or a corporate entity. Perhaps you should bring it up to your city's code enforcement if the professional fireman deem it unsafe. Not to mention the heat that flat out doesn't work! For what you are paying in rent you are owed a home in a safe condition! I urge you to, at a minimum, report your concerns to the ownership of the building with a written paper trail-such as a certified letter.
Snow is expected tonight
We are waiting for rain here. I thought it was supposed to start by now, but I don't think it has. It's just getting darker out.
I do know that if years down the road I want something else I can do it.
I hope that brings you some comfort, knowing you have that stability. I'm not sure if you realize it or not, but in reading your posts re: the new place, it does seem as if you have a hopeful vibe about it. As if may be allowing yourself to look forward to it! I hope you enjoy it, enjoy decorating it and find joy in the surrounding areas as you go out on your daily walks.
Not sure how that guy really thought he was going to get away with that.🤨
I know!
I almost wish we had never decided to even do one.
I get that way mid-project sometimes as well.
He's sitting in the back of my old van that I'm selling to her
Handsome fella, he looks comfortable in his new van!
Well now! I can see who rules the roost in your home::yes:: Toto looks like a man not to cross, King of his Castle, and the one that gets the best spot on the couch!

Well, here we are. Friday afternoon finally. My dishwasher went to the great beyond earlier this week, I found one I liked and it was delivered earlier today. Husband put it in already most likely. After this last snafu, a leak around the door seal again, I called time of death because I was tired of dealing with it. It's had a few issues of late. I hope this sends a message to my washing machine to shape up:jumping1: or it will meet the same fate!

I got my shingles shot yesterday afternoon. Arm is a bit sore, but hardly worth mentioning. I have been waiting to feel crappy from it, but so far no issues at all. I didn't have a reaction to any of my covid shots, pneumonia or flu shots SO I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I get no reaction to this one either. I got in my head a bit after reading about all the incidents of folks having issues after they get the first and/or second vaccine.

Beef pot pie for supper this evening. Not sure about the rest of the weekend, we will see what inspires me. I know I really need to go grocery shopping! I've got no bread, maybe 3 T of butter left and not much else. It's so bad I actually hit a new low and bought a frozen pizza from Walgreens for dinner while I was there.

No real plans this weekend. We have a wardrobe we are not using anymore and may take over to my BIL's place if we get a chance. I also heard there is a new Mexican restaurant right up the road, might be worth a try. I'm in the mood to go to the movies, but I don't think there are any good ones playing - I should look. We are still working our way thru the X-files. I think we've just started season 3. One thing about dropping DirecTV to stream is that we are actually watching less TV, so that is a good thing.

I picked up some scrapple from the butcher this afternoon when I popped out for a quick hair appt. I think scrapple & waffles or pancakes might be on the breakfast menu this weekend.

Omg the Walgreen’s comment cracked me up! Ten mins later I am still chuckling about it. Thanks for the laugh! Many times I’ve run in there after a shift to grab an HBA item and have eyeballed their little frozen food selections, lol. The big question is, did you look around to see if anyone you knew was nearby before you went up to the register? :lmao: I seem to always run into people there, lol.

And you hit the nail on the head with the personalities of our two pooches. Toto is the king of his castle. Main man. Alpha male. Grady is happy to be a follower, and follow he does. Sometimes he won’t even leave the deck unless Toto goes out, and sometimes the old man just wants to chill a bit and not go out every two seconds, haha. But really glad T was here when G came, because G has learned what normal is from T; G does whatever T does. Our last GSD was here when T was a puppy, and I think he’s missed her all these years in his own way, so I do believe he’s happy to have G here with us. They almost always get along unless G gets overly exuberant, which he sometimes does when he’s happy to be outside. The size difference (and goofiness) means T gets knocked around a little bit in play, but he’s tough, and he can take it - and dish it out, as well. Can you believe they thought G was 8 yrs old? Cleaned up (and happy and relaxed), he looks pretty young, but we’re thinking more like 4-5 yrs old. (You can see a tiny bit of grey on his lips.) Toto will be ten later this year. 😕

We started with rain, which turned to snow, enough to cover the ground. Turned into huge flakes and is now back to rain. The plows and sanders are out, as the temp dropped from 40 to 33. Just waiting for the winds to start, that will make the weather complete for the day.

@easyas123 I liked your post, until I got to the scrapple part, ICK! lol Good luck with the new dishwasher!

:thanks:Easyas so much for your thoughtful and caring post. I sincerely appreciate it. The problem is that this building is 63 years old and hasn't been well maintained. I'm honestly not sure other than tearing it down and starting over there's anything that can be done. Dad is going to be asking one of the newer neighbors the next time he sees them whether there heating works. I would think someone paying at least twice as much as we would have safe heat! Although, remember, this is the same owner who re-installed three years ago ancient and some dirty window air conditioners through the wall:scared1:That was why dad and I chose to spend a ton of money out of pocket to get proper through the wall AC's. As far as the sockets, we really don't have any good options in the living room. Extra info that I'd rather share by PM coming soon. Hooray for your new dishwasher! Long may it wash :D Grateful to God you are doing okay after your shots! Treat yourself to some extra R&R this weekend. I'm with Lynn on the Scrapple but am glad you enjoy it.

Lynn, all I can say is please stay warm and sung in your 🏠Many prayers Don is doing better this afternoon and that you just might be finally relaxing a little bit even, too!
Pea, both of your:dogdance:are absolutely blessed by the family they are in.

Dad is safely home from a busy morning. All is quiet around here. We are expecting an amazon package later today. please stay cozy and have a good rest of the afternoon, friends.

I did a small bit of cooking today, I made a soup from a package (cheesy hamburger) and it was pretty good.

And I made spaghetti squash, I tried it a different way and it was pretty easy - and delIcious.
I threw the whole thing in the oven for about an hour. I let it cool a bit, then cut it down the middle and removed the seeds. Using a grapefruit spoon (or you could use a fork), I held each half up over a big bowl (with a folded paper towel as it was still super hot) and scraped all the squash out, adding salt, pepper, garlic powder, and just a little butter and parmesan cheese. Yummy! And something different. I am working with an old friend this weekend so will bring that in with some salmon DH is going to grill for me when he does the pork chops tonight and it will be a relatively light and healthy meal for us to share.
